I really don't understand why even this is a news. Its implicit that when visa is about to expire, person must leave the country applies to any country in the world. Are we really a nation with open borders if so they declare it and invite anyone to come and give them PR card upfront when they onboard air canada flight.

My supervisor has over stayed her work visa by almost a year. Says because she applied for an extension she won't get deported even though that extension won't likely be approved for another year.

Canadians should be glad they are even let in. All the drug smuggling is coming from the north. Our military is blowing up boats at the south. Nothing is getting in at the southern border. So if there is drugs in America, it can only come from the north. Our so called friendS from Canada. Wasn't a Canadian Olympian the biggest drug smuggler caught?

I arrived in Canada 25 years ago. Yes, I am an immigrant — but I embraced this country, learned its language, and built my life here. Canadians welcomed me with open arms, and I carry deep respect and gratitude for that generosity. But Canada today is not the Canada of 25, or even 15, years ago. Our nation has changed profoundly. All the questions were very similar to what we have here but some where in true or false formats. In regards to the job issue, I wonder if allowing only a certain number of a certain demographic to be hired as opposes to giving majority of the jobs to that one demographic? Or maybe removing the wage subsidies? Is canada even in a financial position to be subsidizing wages? I don’t know if that would help….. just a thought.

That was never part of the plan. I believe the intentions have been to populate Canada even though new jobs were not created, housing builds not increasing and infrastructure to support this population boom hasn't changed.
