Here's my life in canada. denied work. Denied education. both grandmothers, and grandfathers and before that mothers and fathers, defended and fought in the great wars, not by choice proxy and came to canada post ww1 to get away from euro trouble, only for second great war, and most were against forced to join because of direct proxy or relatives being killed. When you income is below hte poverty line, and you spending large amounts of time seekngi for a job or working but denied life and work at the same time. It becomes fairly strange. Denied education. Journalism is very important for sure, but empathy is even more important. People from 1st world countries will never understand how is it to live on a place that was colonized by the 1st world countries, can only guess about it. I agree with you to the extent of your understanding of Canadian culture. However, immigrants to Canada should be aware that the First Nations and indigenous people of Canada often have to seek a better life in other countries because colonizers and their descendants show no regard for treaty rights and have disenfranchised First Nations. The government hides the facts about the plight of indigenous Canadians and lie to Canadian immigrants and citizens, always to divide and conquer. Immigrants often don't realize that most indigenous Canadians are living in worse conditions than what the immigrants themselves came from, and few live as comfortably as white Canadians. When white people talk about how hard they have it because of immigrants, they should think about what First Nations have to deal with everyday because of them. Why is there a French-speaking province and not a Cree or Anishnabe speaking province?
