Any commenters actually been to India? They are completely self-interested people in India. Evidently part of their culture. No sense of empathy. No sense of real generosity. Comments about the driving in Ontario are consistent with this behavior. In India, on the roads and in social contact they are inclined to push, shove, cut in, avoid eye-contact unless they perceive insult or injury to themselves. This is perhaps a function of population density, wherein everyone has to claim space and resources. There is also an element of religion, the cultural lack of Christianity which claims eternal consequences for bad behavior.

Better to just avoid America. Make America poor again

I've had both good and bad experiences with Indians, I worked with one guy at the local supermarket, he literally had the entire department hating on him, he was disrespectful, constantly tried to avoid doing his job, the rest of my department had to rally together to tell management to get rid of him, on the other hand, I've also worked with Indians that were the complete opposite, very respectful, kind and hard working. One guy lived in one city, went to school (College/University) in another and worked in my small city, it blew my mind at how busy his life was. They're not all bad but it does feel a little odd to see so many in BC

Some have abused our good will. Liberals have made it better for corporations to hire immigrants as they only have to pay a portion and liberals forcing taxpayers to pay the rest for the cost up to 17-20$ an hr!!!! We have to bring like before people who contribute to society and can stand on two feet but we have too many munchers and now under liberals 14 years of power we have the rich who avoid taxes the poor who can’t afford taxes and the nee middle class who pays all the taxes to pay for the rest. One thing to highlight with not seeing any homeless Indians in that first seen is not that Indians are causing others to be homeless - rather, they are willing to help family out to prevent homelessness! When we first came here (20+ years ago from Ethiopia), we couldn’t find work and faced homelessness. Our extended family came thru and let the 4 of us stay in a small 1 bedroom in the basement until we could get on our feet. By having a room to be safe in, we avoided a lot of the consequences of homelessness that would have made getting back on our feet exponentially difficult. What I have found shocking now to see as a Canadian of 20+ years is my non-immigrant Canadian friends who will watch quietly as their family members fall under the poverty line and towards homelessness, avoiding inviting them in to not “disrupt their peace” at home. I’ve had random family of friends stay with me in hard times to avoid them being on the street while my generally kind friends (at least to others!) did not take them in. This individualistic mindset of the West really means if you have a low point in life, you will plummet to rock bottom…. Ofc homelessness and poverty is multifaceted but a more collective approach to community would also reduce the burden!

Seems all good to me. Italians came they made little Italy. Greeks came they made Greek town at Pape Station. Chinese came they made Chinatowns at Spadina, Broadview, Sheppard, Steels Ave, 14th Avenue . Jews came they made Jewish areas around Bayview or Bathurst. First indians came and made india town on gerrard. Safety in numbers to avoid racism by Canadians of english or Scottish or Irish descent.

You know these people seem to be right... but truth is, THEY are the ones who avoid tougher jobs, choose mindless consumption and pets over having children and building real communities. Driving in Brampton reminds me of when I used to spend time in the DR 30 years ago. We slowed down & even stopped at green lights to avoid T boning our friends running reds. Back then the police were happy to ignore you may be intoxicated for $10 US and a sip from your rum. What a world.

My birth country INDIA has been runited by identity based politics and the same its happening here due to uncontrolled immigration from one group of people. To avoid and to have check and balances we need to have Per Country Quota.

Immigration isnt bad...its good. But open borders and a very flast influx of foreigners isnt. It doesn't make them assimilate nor does it help canadians assimilate to them. They just avoid eachother until they can't. Immigration is supposed to be a process/privilege, not to be taken for granted. Do it slow and nobody will even notice.
