Canada accepts a lot of immigrants more then the US but if the US had a less strict immigration policy it would probably look very similar. What no one discusses is how incredibly racist Canadians have been towards Indians for the past 100+ years. Small town Canada has never been welcoming to people of color so inevitably immigrants started creating enclaves where they feel safe. Why does every city have a Chinatown? How have Canadians treated Chinese immigrants for the past century? There’s a reason why Richmond and Vancouver have large Chinese populations - because they feel safe in numbers. Had fellow college students that have literally told me that they aren't here to learn and are here to just finish the college program to get a job because they would earn more doing any job in Canada than in India. India work market is saturated because of the population and wages are low. The Canadian government use them because they pay triple for schooling that's it. I am Indian (only ethnical not national) who got a job in Canada after doing my engineering degree from Singapore (my country). I chose Canada because it is cold, big and very unpopulated. But now i left because too many competition and no more the peace. I hated populations.
