2 years, 2 months ago @basusri1120 I have had many interesting experiences at the Indian Consulate. But fortunately no one screamed at me! When my late beloved Mother passed away, I took the the tried and tested method which always works in India, my good friend had a friend who knew the Vice Consul at the Embassy, I was discreetly taken into his office, where I showed them my last Indian Passport, and within 20 minutes my American Passport was stamped with an Indian Visa. In the meanwhile my contact was engaged in a friendly conversation with the Vice Council. \nThe problem with our Consulates abroad are, they are understaffed. And with the growing numbers of our diaspora in these countries, they are unable to handle the huge workload. And we are not the most polite people on the planet. Hence both sides tend to get into frequent clashes. On the other hand I have been into other nation Consulates, here they all have a system, and an online form filing program that is user friendly and easy to fill out. Everything works like clockwork. In some countries the Indian Consulates do offer emergency services even on weekends. 0 y52I41_NpbQ

Even the USA embassy is more transparent and efficient than any Indian visa office. The applicants are are not allowed talk back or disrespect the decision of the consulate. The consulate are the ones who would decide if you will be given a visa or not. Applicants can always apply again once their application was refused. Nobody can film a consulate without a permission. There’s a reason why the officer/consulate has that reactions 0 y52I41_NpbQ
