2 years, 4 months ago @danielcortes4523 I went to Conestoga college, and I wish your mon read my words. Canadians, should consider that international students are paying around 20k yearly to Canada Colleges institutions that are not offering better education than the one provided in their own countries for way less than 30k. Other developed countries, like Germany or Belgium offer the same programs to international students for around 8k yearly, but, the international students rather come to Canada which also offer an easier path to become PR. But then, they crash with the reality and they realize that even many Indians can't speak proper English to be competitive in a Canadian College or in a Canadian company. Unfortunately, Canadians educational institutions know that the English spoken by international students is not enough but, they send them an acceptance letter from the institution so they can come and study in Canada. So, the real problem are the Canadian public colleges and Universities accepting people with a poor English level from overseas. Canada is a great place to be but, this kind of actions make their productivity poor which is in reality the problem behind the bad economy development when compare with similar developed countries. So, your mon should first blame its own country policies and educational institutions rather than international students for that kind of behaviors when they are students. Also, you should put your self in their shoes, learn German and go to Germany and see how easy is to manage to get a waitress job only in German in a city like Cologne. And then remember that this international students are bringing 20k from their countries economy to Canada each one yearly. Know, think how many Canadians bring 20k yearly to India or Nepal... 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @XtreamSJ Look into Applyboard's government lobbying! Also look at the types of students it is bringing, 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @lominiski Lots of useless colleges. The security guards in my condo are studying logistics. Some work for Amazon delivery. Others are flipping pizzas. And if you go to the grocery stores at certain times, they are pulling goods. Dollarama has lots sorting goods (they say this is a Canadian company). 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @jz12390 CBC is talking about this massive problem AND allowing comments..? 35 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @Oneextream What is the point of not setting a cap based on nationality? Let s be honest. 90% of international students are from India. If they do not come, others will come. Money is money. 99.9% of Indians come to Canada on study permit not to study but to work full time harming other international students from other countries. They come to class for the first few weeks and once they get team mates for team work assignments, they suddenly banish and never show up again. IT IS RUDE. They never speak English. Their stardards are far below CANADIAN STANDARDS. Why keep getting them in? Again. Money is money. Just limit based on nationality on study permit and later pr as well. 49 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @brianfantana8510 Career colleges are immigrating 100s of thousands of people to Canada. That is so wrong and unethical. Shut them down. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @aravindkrishna7606 It's 100% true. International students are being exploited for tuition money and GIC money. Students have taken huge loans from their home country expecting that they will be able to get jobs and pay off their debt but since last 1 year students are jobless. We are failing to get menial labor jobs. Inflation and rent are sky high and our GIC money is not enough to survive here. I myself sleep hungry sometimes as I don't have enough money to buy food after paying rent. I think if they can't give us jobs and affordable housing, canada should stop calling itself a developed first world country. We should call out the whole system for keeping international students in inhumane conditions. 6 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @letzsnuggzz I was so surprised when I got off a flight from Amsterdam. There were people right beyond the gate corralling what looked like South East Asian students to get them ready to go to immigration. And there must have been at least 30-40 people in a line forming. If that happens with one flight or a few inbound flights. This must be happening throughout the day, every day. I had never seen that type of thing before. 23 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @jacobglau5632 All our government cares about is to milk the poor international students regardless how it affects the students and the locals. 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @freezinginferno2106 Ive worked with these studnets in warehouses, lot of them are hard workers that are struggling to make ends meet, struggling to find a home, the government and universities just treats em as a quick buck, they get hated by wasp, face even more hate from their own who been here for years, they've been sold a false dream and we are all now suffering from political greed 8 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @lominiski What use is some of the studies if they study a subject and there aren't the jobs for it. Ever use Complex numbers? Ever use differenial equations? Have you used Fourier transforms in real life? After two years outside the area you studied and worked in Canadian Tires, you are pretty useless. There is always someone behind you. 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @kimsedgwick8119 This Canadian wants immigration to slow right down. We need to focus on Canadians and get this country back in order. 1271 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @proudlycanadian3581 Well the Liberal party needs voters and they don’t have enough CBC employees to win the next election so buy the votes any way you can? 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @spacex7268 All around i see only students from india , i dont know where the other international students are . Just saying 34 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @thebroketraveller9601 If this question is now being covered by major media outlets, then the answer is obviously yes \n\nFurthermore to say that international students are “saving this country”, I find completely disrespectful to people who actually hold Canadian citizenship or were born here, people here would be having kids and increasing the population, if there wasn’t such an extensive cost to live our lives here, which international students are definitely contributing to the problem of\n\nFurthermore the idea of building quicker is completely ridiculous, that route has been tried to be tackled for years now and it’s just not working, the simple solution is to stop immigration for a couple years, it’s the simplest solution and by far the one that would be the most effective, but yet this country absolutely refuses to pull the trigger on it, insanity and denial is what this country is constantly dealing with 11 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @brownnomad6805 It's accepting too many Indian students... Others are ok 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @HWFlussy As an older person going through college to change careers, half the foreign students are there only to get canadian citizenship, most of the proffs don't care. 4 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @LeechyKun This lack of homes and never ending immigration with no pause reminds me of the US southern border. They just let them churn in like machines parts on a assembly line (refugee factories instead of immigration factories but low skilled workers) and the court system is overwhelmed to see these people for their appointment to determine if they're eligible to stay. All these problems are caused by Globalists which are mostly to the left. This is their form of Capitalism to get rich off the backs of citizens and the needy. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @Doug-zl8nb If canada would worry about canadians, there are in such a bind and such a predicament... Third world country for canada coming up 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @AaronAubreyPhoto it's an open secret globally that the student visa is the fast track to PR in Canada.. time to close this loophole and severely cap student visas!! 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @Dreamboat86NL Thanks to cbc for showing the truth,it is a big tie up with corporates and govt, they are only looking for the money and the tax.govt should control these educational institutions and should shut the illegal ones for Canadas better future. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @markyhaddy3426 Yes. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @d.sertsedesta4106 Canada has become just a sink for skilled immigrants, including international students. These people could have solved many problems if they were given opportunities. Canada is not the right place for skilled immigrants including international students. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @jasminesands6346 Thank Trudeau... you voted for him... get rid of Trudeau.. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @JayDonagh Altogether, the damage to this country by bringing in so many international students will cause Canadian citizens to immigrate elsewhere, including me at some point. It's hard to have this discussion sometimes as people will say you're being offensive, but really, I doubt the current climate of Canada is satisfactory for these overseas students either, their housing and job options here are poor and this affects Canadian citizes. If you go to places like Vancouver or Ottawa, it's completely unrecognizable to the unregulated amount of international students who are typically in poor situations. 329 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @JULIANZ123 Cap the low-quality, pay-for-diploma colleges and further support the high-quality productivity producing universities! It's great to know that's the direction the government is moving towards! 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @lombo5293 Not just international students...there are easy immigration policies catering big groups like Filipinos Punjabis Ukrainians Afghanis etc. All these easy backdoor immigration policies to bolster vote bank must stop now. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @annfoster6116 They are everywhere in Toronto! 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @LeechyKun So faculty greed is destroying Canada with the lack of affordable housing, rising homelessness, lack of care for its citizens, etc.? They want the students high tuition money because they pay more. I wonder if it's the same in the US. I guess this is called selling out? No wonder China has caught up so quickly as there is a ton of Chinese students that come here. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @smashypeople the answer is yes 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @SilentSnake-q8l Here's a fascinating insight: International students are occasionally granted security clearances, enabling them to contribute to government jobs and confidential projects. It's noteworthy that some Indian individuals are actively engaged in these roles. This perspective may shed light on why some individuals view the Canadian government skeptically, given the presence of Indian agents in sensitive government positions. 10 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @alhubele654 Everyone who voted for the Liberal/NDP coalition is responsible for the mess that Canada is in now, I hope you are happy. 7 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @schwags1969 This is out of hand, close the borders and take care of Canadians first. Veterans are sleeping rough, people are addicted to drugs, people are taking MAID. When is this going to stop??? 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @dorsia6938 Exactly the same thing is happening in Australia. Interesting that these countries are following an extremely similar trajectory. 28 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 4 months ago @Dam-a-fence My simple opinion is that universities nation wide are stretched too thin by Conservative limits on education and taxes for the wealthy.\nOh, you might have to pay 44%, I pay 42% and earn $30k.\nSuck it up. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 4 months ago @janetmcdonald2572 I teach in post secondary and the international students pay double the tuition. Add in living expenses and you have your answer as to why it is happening. We save a percentage of seats for domestic and indigenous students. Post secondary institutions would not be able to operate without the international students. 2 eP02h50KIOA
