We vacationed in Vancouver last year , it was crazy how block by block houses were being forced to sell. Condo buildings were going up, a cab driver pointed this out to me and made a joke that BC now stood for “ Bring Cash”. |

My father lived 20 years in Canada, he received a pension, in the last 4 years he has had to work because the pension was not enough, now he has decided to return to Colombia because even receiving a pension and working at the same time he cannot afford to live in Toronto, he says in the last 4 years the quality of life has deteriorated, everything are much more expensive, so much so that it is no longer worth returning to Canada. |

Cost of living is unbearable even if you are earning six figures it’s pointless, and worse is housing, you need a minimum $1.3 million to buy any house even 50KM away from city with no infrastructure, There is no chance you can afford it. I live in a small city in Saskatchewan. We have an influx of immigrants every year and the housing availability is next to none. Jobs are hard to find, rent is really high, groceries are high. Obviously not as bad as Vancouver or Toronto, but it's not great. I don't see a great future for anyone living here at the moment. |
