Violence lies in its fundamentals. Fundamental Islam is radical; non-violent or non-active Muslims are simply bad or less ideal Muslims. Peaceful Muslims are the radical ones according to Islam. It did not get violent, it merely became more gutsy against its host nations. It is not a RELIGION because 1) It does not have a sophisticated theology and your relationship to that. 2) 80% of Islamic sacred texts refer to how to treat the KAFFIR, non-muslims which includes the option of converting, death or paying the Jizyah. Instead there is this attitude that the host country is going to do just what Muslims want them to do, that they're not going to assimilate and try to fit in in any way whatsoever. And beyond that they're not shy about their plans on dominating the culture of the host country , disregarding the law, and setting up Sharia law instead. Those people have to go.
