2 years, 1 month ago @jimmy41607 Liberals led BC for 16 years housing went up 4 times since 2005. Yet Canadian elected liberal for their federal government I don't know what all Canadians were thinking 10 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @patrickkeating7074 In Ireland just like Canada in the 1970s and 1980s it was no real problem to buy a House, then the game changed, now like Canada......... from four times your yearly Wage to 10 times your yearly wage...........blame the Bank's greed and corruption of Government In our Western World. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @craftminer49er Canada has become a totalitarian dictatorship. Honestly, the USA isn’t too much better. The white people need to do something before it’s too late 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @astromoe1 11:15 been curious about this part of the Video for quite sometime. The People I have majored with in college have done research about this, Implying that it has been a thing for ages. Could it be something other than lack of funding in the Private sector? Perhaps, the cost of funding is much higher within the region? 5 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @johnlanning7243 Maybe don’t import half of India to your country 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @LumpyGents A lot of this video is directly aimed at Trudeau's leadership, but this is completely forgetting the role of the provincial and municipal governments. They play a major role in building housing and planning cities, and yet basically all of this video is taking potshots at Trudeau. That's not to say Trudeau is free of criticism, but I would've liked a little more nuance there. Especially when people are so polarized at the federal level, the journalistic duty is incredibly important here. Personally, I don't think Trudeau can solve this, but I don't think any single politician can. Especially Pollievre who's got next to no credible plan to tackle the affordability crisis. We have to do better. 1 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @sebi7118 Not only is it it impossible to live here, there are no resources unless the government gets something from it. As an indigenous child who grew up in foster care my whole life, there was no indigenous foster care homes for me to go to and therefore my culture has become traumatic for me. My OWN culture has major trauma related to it and my foster care agency would NOT help me unless I moved to the reservation after I aged out the THEIR system, which was not applicable because they were the ones who traumatized me. When I turned 19, I was expected to have it all figured out, I was not allowed to remain in my foster home afterwards without massive paper work and thank god my foster mom cared about me because without her, I would be on the streets with nothing but a garbage full of clothes. I moved out on my own with the help of that family and my agency said they would help with things if I asked. As of the economy now, I did ask them. I asked them for any help at all and my social worker LITERALLY ghosted me and stood me up, even at my plea for help. You would think this is just my case but there are hundreds of cases like mine with even worse endings and what Canada has done with this information is nothing. Foster Care in Canada for indigenous youth is the 2000’s way of Residential Schools and I am EXTREMELY lucky to NOT be homeless and dead. Many of my friends in similar situations are dead or homeless and I have no hope for Canada, it’s an extremely depressing reality. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY

2 years, 1 month ago @zeeshanhabib6180 It's really getting ridiculous - I'm making 6 figures, and was living comfortably until 2018. Now I have to pinch every single penny. One thing that changed is I had my first-born. But it should not be this expensive to raise of family of 1 child. It's getting ridiculous. We've been considering emigrating elsewhere. \n\nHaving done everything - from going to university, making sacrifices to afford a first home - yet we're still regressing in life. This shouldn't be. \n\nI thought Canada was heaven on earth - but that view has changed, as it's getting more difficult to survive, forget thrive. 6 ZvSNcnG2eqY

2 years, 1 month ago @goldensloth7 I wanna live here. I just can't afford to. I'm 38 and live with my mum, which is also due to my health but i have lived alone many times. my whole disability cheque would not cover a one bedroom and it's very hard to find a studio, they're all taken. Trudeau isn't the problem. he's a symptom. these problems are happening all over the world. the corporations are grinding people to dust in every country, so that we can log forests and fill landfills, medicate people so they can be Functional enough to create value for a company. any Canada is great, but it, and the world as a whole, at the moment, kid of suck. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY

2 years, 1 month ago @metal87power Government should NOT run housing. That's simple economics. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @dugilee4236 Based on the information you guys are providing, it seems like it's a simple issue of landlords in Canada trying to exploit people by preventing more housing from being built. I understand that an increase in immigrants makes the housing market more competitive, but it sounds like corrupt government officials are taking bribes from landlords to make Canada a worse place for everyone.\n\nMoreover, it's funny that he only uses Vancouver and Toronto to illustrate how expensive Canada is when there are other places to live in the country. You can buy housing for $20,000 for a 3-bedroom house if you simply choose not to live in one of the most populated cities in Canada. What a joke. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @ishan28mkip Indian here, I applied for a Canada PR and just missed the PR score cut off by a few points, I am from one of the top universities in India, have a computer science bachelors and masters in economics, I am opening my own tech startup here and would have loved to open it in Canada and drive Canada's GDP. \n\nBut you know who get the highest score for PR? Low skilled people who do fake degrees(which are so easy to get it is lame, by the way I can also do it, but it will spoil by education reputation). The immigration system of Canada is a joke, It treats all degrees, jobs and universities as equal. Best of all I was offered to pay $20k by someone to get a Canadian PR. Again I can pay that much but do I want to immigrate to a country whose citizenship is being sold this cheap?\n\nTrust me when I say it Canada is getting the most average and at times the worst people from India. Indian government though should thank Canada for taking all these low skilled people from India that send Canadian Dollars back to India. They take away the middle class jobs, housing, etc in Canada and worse for Canada send back money to India leading to pressure on Canadian currency and reserves.\n\nThe simplest solution is to halt whatever nonsense immigration policy Canada has and only allow three kinds of immigration, people who secure high paying jobs in recognised companies, entrepreneurs that get funding from investors Canadian government recognises and count university scores only from top tier universities. Finally make it super easy for these high skilled people and difficult for anyone else. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY

2 years, 1 month ago @_AreVerA_ Love how yall blame immigrants or liberals but in reality its big realty companies who are backed by usually right wing lobbyists. Soooo maybe yall should start with rent control where landlords are legally required to be reasonable with rent. And to have these realty companies stop playing a game of monopoly with other human lives 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @MrGenenmi What was wrong with Canada before Trudeau? Country is gone to shit. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @aspielife9323 Things are so bad for disabled and poor people like myself here in the UK that I've been thinking about leaving for another country, despite knowing I'd lose what little income I DO have. But after watching this, I know not to go to Canada. Throw in the how the weather affects my health let alone the economic situation and its a big no. I'd probably die within a week. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @American_2 lol at that point why isn't vancouver super empty? 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
2 years, 1 month ago @aspielife9323 no matter who gets into power, in any country, from any political background, it doesn't matter. nothing ever changes for the better, it only gets worse. its the poor, vulnerable and disabled who become the first victims of the down trend. just look at the u.k. where hundreds of thousands of people murdered because of our government using us as scapegoats to drive their policies, one of which being the hostile benefits policy. you can easily find info about it online by searching the term and u.k. dwp deaths.\nthe most frustrating part about it is that poor disabled people can't do anything about it. we are ignored not just by the government but by society in general. we have no voice and so our suffering goes on. it feels like a hopeless situation. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY

2 years, 1 month ago @davidstone-haigh4880 Much the same s here in the UK. The cost of basic amenities and food is outrageous. We have foodbanks! Foodbanks in a so called 'first world' country. Despicable Tory rule over the last decade and a half has caused all this. Shameful. 0 ZvSNcnG2eqY
