2 years ago @Steve-nl6yt I noticed in Vancouver area that all affordable rental places were demolished and replaced with high rises, especially in metrotown. These high rises has shoe boxes units that sells for 1 million and more. Don’t you guys think this housing crises that Vancouver has is made deliberately and does not have much to do with immigration. 2 years ago @philw7835 Canada, like Australia and etc., faces a fundamental issue that makes it reliant on—or even more severely, dependent on—immigration. Of course discussing this fundamental issue is inappropriate for Canadians. The housing crisis is not caused by immigrants. While you can criticize immigration policies, they are merely the straw that broke the camel's back. It's similar to inflation; like, even if it remains at 2% per year, we will still experience the peaks and troughs of business cycles, just less intensely. Sure you can have a public housing program, where does that money come from? More and more tax money. Having to work harder to only end up with paying more taxes for those who either did not have the opporunities or didn't work as hard (who cares what the actual reasons are), just feels like a ripoff. 0 txyjmNXcWiU

Toronto is saturated with people. Our resources are depleted. Rents are very high. New immigrants should go live in other parts of Canada. Start communities and businesses in other areas.
