Thats my home town and most people move away. Its honestly abusive and sad, its happening in every city surrounding brampton. Within a decade growing up i was the only non indian or middle eastern in my classes in school. To the point where u cant get a job cant rent a place because they cater to their own race. Allot are decent people but when your told u have to speak hindi to get a job. Its discriminatory and biased. They're racist towards anyone from a diffrent race period, i watched the city fall into an ethnoburb and i refuse to feel like a minority in my own home town.

Not just Brampton or where it’s obvious..In my college class it’s 95% Indian and even in a group project they speak Hindi not English n exclude others openly- even after the prof says not to..total imbalance n no assimilation..even for us who are immigrants but speak English n assimilate

Adding to my previous comment, I see Indian / Pakistani workers in all the supermarkets, speaking Hindi Urdu amongst themselves, we order home delivery and they get our orders wrong...mate, I like a multicoloured society, not a BTEC version of India FFS.

Please don't say indian I feel ashamed, the so called invaders are from punjab which is the north part of india who speaks Hindi. We are from south most tip of india :kerala we don't invade any country we blend with other country's culture. And we speak "malayalam" as our language. India does consist of 28 completely different states and 22 plus different languages. Everyone is different in their culture and language spoken and the food itself. And I am also sad I came to canada from kerala to get a foreign exposure but sadly I saw more punjabis, gujaratis and many hindi language speaking north indians more than canadians😢. I’m a second gen Indian in Canada born in USA. It’s become so us vs them between locals and immigrants, that Im caught in the middle, I belong no where and everywhere. There’s no room for my voice, because I’m no different then any Canadian or American in how I act but nothing separates me from Punjab and Kashmir other than accident of birth and one generation. My English is NE United States, my French Québécois, my Hindi Dehli,Punjabi Jalandar, Urdu Lahori, and Turkish Ankara. I speak six languages and I’m fluent in none, I’m from three countries yet none of them want me. It would be great if more of these types of investigations included our voices, as we’re neither here nor there yet caught in the middle of all of this.

What is the national Canadian language? English. Can you speak Punjabi or Hindi? Can you even speak more than 15 words of it? Probably not. I can't, and i shouldn't need to. In Canada the language is always an always has been English or French. Yet all the signs i see you put up in your businesses are written in Hindi or Punjabi. I have never seen a Indian owned business with English signs. Do you expect me to just learn your language to accustom you to living in my country? I'm not doing that, and I'm sure nobody else will want to either. If you come here, you need to get yourself adjusted to how we live and learn our language. You're not in India anymore, You're in Canada. I'm not angry at Indians for doing this, I'm angry at Canadians for allowing this.

I actually worked at Tim Hortons(I'm a white guy), and there were literally so many Indians that they'd order each other around in Hindi. They'd only speak English to me and the customers. I had a shift coordinator in fact who would reflexively give me orders in Hindi, and would get a little ticked off and repeat it in Hindi, and then when it clicked that I'm the only non-Hindi speaker there, he'd give 1 word orders like "Garbage" or "Sinks". The owner of the Tim Hortons also said that if I was a little slow or needed extra training, they wouldn't fire me because they don't like to keep rotating workers around, and instead would rather just retrain them. I was a tad bit slow(only because I was precise and not violating health and safety standards), and they fired me in like 10 seconds. Like my second monthly review, I was fired. I have a feeling it largely had to do with the fact that I was not Indian and didn't speak Hindi, so therefore the shift coordinators had less tolerance for me.

I went through a drive thru in Weyburn Saskatchewan and almost shit my pants when I seen (1) white guy working there, 99% Indian in the smack dab middle of the country, and it’s like this everywhere. Have heard half a dozen times from separate ppl that they were asked if they spoke Hindi or Punjabi to work at Tim Hortons because “all the staff spoke it” they take our jobs because they accept lower wages. I’m just fatigued, it just sucks because I know the vast majority of Indians before 2020 were actually nice and adaptable decently well. Now when you go out to eat or buy groceries you don’t even get a “have a nice day” which is a Canadian custom IMO. Most of the time besides the transaction details, they will not speak to you.

Most of this issue is caused by north Indians who find it hard to assimilate especially the Sikhs. And the issue was caused by the canadian government who prioritized quantity over quality. As an indian immigrant there are times I feel disgusted by their behavior. Due to this behavior the nicer Indians who hold up canadian values are getting the same discrimination. Me myself is a catholic indian who had to leave the country because of the religious bullshit caused by north Indians. We were not even allowed to have a peaceful Christmas in India. As I moved to Canada I faced more racism from north Indians as I eat beef and pork and dont speak hindi. It breaks my heart everytime when I get discriminated from people thinking that i am a punjabi. I just want to live a normal life and follow my faith. Its sad that they dont let us live peacefully in india and in Canada.

Two generations ago (50-60 years ago) the Indians who came to Canada, with no family in Canada had excellent qualifications. They had to come with jobs waiting for them in universities, engineering firms, architectural firms and hospitals. The students were Masters or Ph.D. with full scholarship. They went on to build the country but they were minorities fighting the occasional racism on the street (as the woman in the green t- shirt says). Today, as a result of Trudeau's naïveté about the level of corruption in India, there's a huge influx of relatively unqualified Indians arriving and not being able to assimilate into Canadian society because they do not have good job qualifications. They end up living in ghettos and turn to crime. We must fix that by being much more selective of Indian immigrants. As someone of the Indian diaspora, I'd also like to say that there are those Indo Canadians ("brown folks") who want nothing to do with the Brampton or Surrey ghettos. Many of us are completely secular, having no religion and share nothing with these people fighting around temples and yelling at each other in Punjabi or Hindi. We speak English and French and vote in the elections.

Please mention as North Indians we South Indians are not frauds we are well educated and hold good positions.. even my husband came to Canada in student visa i came there on dependent visa… when the visa expired we returned back to India… stop telling on the whole…. I saw it first hand in my workplace. A major delivery company (not Amazon). Used to be mostly Canadians, until about 2 years ago. The majority are now young Indian guys who speak their own language amongst themselves. Even the new manager speaks Hindi. Work conditions have worsened because these people are willing to do much more for low wages. They drive erratically and treat the country like their playground to make money. This is the future of Canada.

Accountability should fall on the Government of Canada. They stopped screening properly. There used to be a point system that determined who could immigrate, and it actually worked. I’m of Pakistani descent, born and raised here, and when I’m in Brampton and walk into a Circle K, people start speaking to me in Hindi or Punjabi right away — it’s a trip. At the same time, I’m not saying everyone coming is bad. A lot of international students and new immigrants are hardworking people who want to build a better life. But plenty are also gaming the system. The real issue is that Canada messed up by letting in too many at once, with no structure to help them assimilate. When there’s no integration, no surprise people just act like they’re back home.

My neighbours daughter was denied a employment from an establishment which is frequented by all and was told if she doesn't speak Hindi she cannot be hired. I told her to report them to the government and the HO of the company. I will not say which company but I'm sure someone can guess the establishment in less than 3 guesses

As an Indian living in Australia, i support the rejection of visas. Indian behave like they're living in India. Ladies in my class from punjab will speak only punjabi and ask desi lectures if they can teach the class in Hindi. \nAlso occasionally the khalistanis will do demonstrations here creating traffic. \nMany indians visiting nearby Vietnamese cities lile bali also disrespect locals there. I moved to the town of Brampton in 1968. It was a small village consisting of mainly canadian/British people. I have family that live in Brampton now that have been to college in the medical field. They cannot even get a job because they don't speak Hindi. That IS racism! I now live in a beach town in Ontario and I'm seeing the same thing happen. Indians are taking all the jobs, buying the businesses to cater to their own kind. When you go to the beach now, it is 85% Indians. Canada's government has failed, because our leader has sold the country to India.

I too am an immigrant, but I feel like the country is being overtaken by India. There's nothing wrong with immigration if controlled properly, bud sadly this is not the case with the Canadian government, and it is getting out of control. I live in a beach town in Ontario that up until last year was a nice place to live. Now when you go to the beach it is 90% Indians, and they are buying up all the businesses to cater to their own kind and if you aren't Indian, you stand out like a sore thumb!. I have a relative that lives in Brampton and is very experienced in the medical field, but cannot get a job because they don't speek Hindi. Come on people! Because you asked, most Indians in my local area won't speak to me. I say hi they put smirk on there face and walk by. I also believe that part of the hate comes from the fact Canadians are willing to integrate your religions into our country politics and police force. But what do you contribute back in the way of culture. Where are the ayurvedic stores, tan dav dance centers. The Koreans or our country gave us tae kwon do . The Chinese gave us karate. I myself have been wanting to learn Hindi but can't find anyone to teach me because they just don't talk to me.

i love how new brunswick is officially bilingual even tho only 30-35% of the population speaks french. its easier to get service in hindi then in french in moncton and most of the province.
