To think Canadians used to be tough people. They went the same way as Australia.

This is an interesting issue. I have lived in both Brampton and Surrey, and there is some real issues with immigration. But the homeless you showed made me think about the other side of the coin, these Indian immigrants would probably do a better job feeding our own homeless if they were aware they were welcome. Things like garbage and stuff, indians have less civil duty because their own cultural issues. But they have a sense of duty of family and community. So we need to hold our goverment responsible for not handling emmigration properly, but also if have compassion and bring these people into our communities as well, then you will feel a new sense of duty from them. Its a tough issue on both sides that our goverments are forcing us the people to deal with

I used to live in a bubble thinking that even though life is tough and it's harding to make a living here but at least it's more peaceful here than the States. When you ALREADY have tariffs in place against the US you cannot claim Trump is starting a trade war. You started it. Now we have a POTUS with the sand to stand up for us not the world. I used to think Pres. Trump was being too hard on Canada then I got a look at the tariffs they impose on our goods. Some as high as 250%. I think Trump just wants a level playing field and a lot of help from Canada on the border. I think Poilievre feels the need to talk tough in response but I think he really wants the same things as Trump. I hope Poilievre becomes PM because he's conservative and I think he'll work well with Trump as they're both conservative nationalists.

This is really sad becuase life after deportations is tough for somebody who was raised in USA. I was taken to the U.S. as a baby and grew up there, but at 19, I was sent back to Mexico—a country I had no memory of, no connections in, and barely spoke the language. My entire family had migrated when I was little, so I was left to figure everything out on my own.\n\nComing back felt like being thrown into an unfamiliar world. I wasn’t fluent in Spanish, had a weird accent, and my mindset was completely different from those who grew up in Mexico. I used to be outgoing and got along with everyone, but now I’ve become more introverted. I struggle to relate to people, have trouble socializing, and often feel like I don’t belong. I feel completely alone, with no one to talk to in person because everyone sees me as an outsider. Many even think I’m a terrible person for coming back after being raised in the very place they dream of moving to.\n\nMaking friends has been challenging too. Many assume that because I grew up in the U.S., I have more money, and friendships often come with the expectation that I’ll pay for everything.\n\nOn top of that, daily life is a struggle. Renting a place is extremely difficult because I don’t have a co-signer from Mexico, and they won’t accept one from the U.S. Getting legal documents like a passport is nearly impossible because my parents haven’t been in the Mexican system for over 19 years, and officials tell me they have no way to prove who I am. I think society wants women to stay weak and for alpha males to call the shots. Again a transexual female can never replace a biological born female. Transexuals know this. So many gay men all over the world have femine souls. Then there are tough Lesbians who have masculine souls. It can be confusing but one can get over it all at once when you look at people from the human point of view. They bleed, they think, they have hearts, emotions and needs like everyone else in this world. America loves to put down Jews, Blacks, Minorities of any kind, sexual minorities like the LGBTQ community. Think of all us in a bus or a cruise ship. We are in this ride for a lifetime. I know for transgender people who in Asian Cultures and Native American know about the souls. Other religions don't punish or discriminate. No human being is perfect. Just love and respect one another. Kudos to the pilot for serving our nation ❤

I think that’s comparable to cost of living in Australia. So people with a high paying job and skills are necessary to have a good stress free life. If you are struggling to get a good job it’s going to be tough. Especially if you live far away and need to spend on fuel and rent or the cost of buying a house. It’s skewed towards highly skilled and people who already have a good savings account balance

Back in 2016, Trump introduced 25% tariffs on China 301-classification imports that severely damaged my business. For whatever reason, he then exempted the tariffs, but the public still assumed that they were in place. It was a perfect Trump win-win move to make the voters think that he was acting tough, while actually exempting the tariffs for us importers. Unfortunately, Biden got into office and immediately took away the exemptions and screwed us. I mention all of this in order to exemplify how nothing is as it seems when it comes to Trump. Sometimes you have to let this stuff play out before overreacting. I think that Canada made a mistake by overreacting so quickly. This will force Trump's hand to pursue the trade war, even if it was not his actual intention.

He made sure to come over here legally, even though his situation was beyond dire. He’s a man of integrity, more people should have that kind of integrity. Trump acts like we make SOOOOO much here in the US that we can function alone. FALSE! We make damn near NOTHING here. We rely too heavily on other countries in every aspect of our lives; food, clothing/footwear, shelter/building construction material, automotive even down to hygiene products . I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. There's no reason that we need to have more people coming here right now. We have way more than enough people here right now.
