Most of the people I know came from 2008-2013 were skilled professionals were accessed on a point based system ,worked hard and now many own several properties and are contributing to the country.
Not bogus international students, unskilled temp workers or fake refugees we saw under Trudeau era

deport them all. no more immigrants and no more refugees!! no housing, no social services, no health care, no child tax benefits, no food bank access. They wont stay long. NONE! WE ARE DONE!! We lived like the old saying "I can change them" and we learned that we can't! They want to change us, not assimilate. The liberals have destroyed our country for votes- it makes me sick.

Blame the immigration officials, they did open the doors for criminals who came from India and other foreign countries. Refugees that have criminal records were given access by the government to step in here in Canada. Blame immigration officials and the authorities that are responsible in keeping our PEACE AND ORDER.

"The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides temporary health care coverage for specific groups in Canada, such as refugees and asylum claimants, who do not have access to provincial or territorial health insurance. It covers essential medical services, but some supplemental benefits will require co-payments starting May 1, 2026"

Immigrants are being used, most people put everything they have to come here and start a new life, but most people only see us as numbers , most of us don't have access to those social securities or we try to avoid using them because they work different for immigrants, while refugees come with permanent residence, without even speaking the language, and they don't come alone, they come in large groups, complete families all with all the benefits, that to me seems really unfair

just funny how indian immigrants are so hated when they paid 5x the school fees to come here and study and work. Meanwhile refugees and asylum seekers get free housing, access to social benefits and nobody even notices. what a world.

We shouldnt accept anyone except the pregnant women refugee coming here. Women will be in a life and death situation when they flee america. Due to no access to healthcare. Keep the trumpies ones out though. Women shouldnt face the death penalty when they desperately need healthcare that america provides. They should be granted asylum.

Do you really think these crooks look like students who are here to study? What a joke. They are fraudsters, criminals, and hooligans who have found a super easy way to gain access to overseas countries like Canada, Australia, the UK, etc. through student visa, work permits, or refugees. They have destroyed the peace and harmony of the country. These crooks have no respect and social values and lack basic knowledge as to how they should behave in a civilized society. The message is out loud and clear that not only Canada but also other overseas countries should reconsider their immigration policies as well to prevent bad seeds from entering their borders.

Im a surgeon. I came to canada as a refugee child I wouldnt be a surgeon today had it not been for welfare, social supports, affordable apartments for our family, free and excellent public schools, loans/scholarship/ bursaries and access to the best universities for education, and then loans again for medical school/residency. I pay about between 300-500K in taxes a year. I am paying back a lot more than my family received in direct social services, but its worth it for the life that this beautiful country provided my family and I. I hope the taxes I pay will benefit current and future Canadians. Our system is not perfect. if it was good enough to help raise my ESL refugee rear up to where I am today, the social support blanket is better than most places. GL on your move. I wont be moving anywhere any time soon.

Western welfare and assistance programs used to be support systems for needy citizens. But in last 20 years its become a buffet feeding frenzy for the rest of the world to just get into those nations any way they can, legal or not, to get in on it as its an upgrade to the standards of where they come from. But we cant support it anymore. Government policies have not adapted to the changing world. Only citizens should have access to this and legal vetted immigrants. Any illegal immigrants or refugee claimants should stay where they are until their applications are approved. We are stretched beyond our limits.

It used to be good in Canada. Now it's authoritarian.People can't afford food or homes. Many can't access healthcare and when they do it's subpar. They freeze bank accounts and jail the peaceful protestors. The media is bought by and controlled by Trudeau. They are flooding us with refugees.Which I wouldn't mind if they had enough actual resources to go to everyone but they don't so citizens and refugees suffer. They do a price on pollution on citizens causing food ,gas, home price and rent inflation while they jet set in their private jets and take money in corrupt ways from taxpayers and use it to enrich themselves. They legalize hard drugs so kids are dying in the streets. If a man in a dress comes into bathroom with my daughter I get in trouble for being uncomfortable and so does my daughter. If we were scared to get vaxed we were shunned from society, barred from public transport and stores. We lost our jobs.We to vote them out and they got back in with minority and they made backroom deal with far left party to block opposition and have full power nobody agreed to.They block calling an election to get them out. When all this misery becomes too much they offer medical assistance in dying to anyone who asks and have even offered to those who didnt ask.So ya Canada sucks

A statement that is absolutely true, monetising their sorts of respects, safety and security with along dignity, thus, the Palestinians are not to be taken as refugees and they will stay within their land. \n\nLets raise the issue of ceasefire for the stability of peaceful and for more number of things could be accessible for the Palestinian humanitarian aid.

Lol they do not want anything to do with terrorists.\nThats why no country willing to accept them. Not arab or in the west \nEgypt has its own border with Gaza and never gave them daily work permits or access to hospitals.\nJordan ruled the west bank and Egypt ruled gaza from 48 to 67 but non of them even thought about establishing a palastinian state ?\nLook at Jordan. When the accepted palastinian refugees those refugees started a crvil war and killed the king.\nBy the way today 60% of Jordan population are Palestinians.\nHow is it that thier own country do not accept them ?

He should have asked reporter why their country denied access to Jews refugees fleeing Europe following the Holocaust and other atrocities committed by European powers.

Why should countries take in Palestinian refugees? That would give Israel free rein and access without any problem. That, my friend, is what Israel wants.

ive always been proud to be canadian but not anymore. we are giving newcomers (refugees) thousands of dollars to get their lives set up with free rent for a year while a veteran and young kids sleep on the street, without access to basic services....no wonder so many of them turn to drugs.

It is stated on the Website of the Government of British Columbia, “The B.C. government is making credential recognition for internationally trained professionals more transparent, efficient and fair.” Could anyone explain what it means “more fair”? Are there different degrees of fairness in Canada and in the province of British Columbia?-Well, isn’t fairness or being fair referred to Justice, and if so, does this mean that the Canadian legal system does not respect individual rights of all people equally?-And, if Canadian legal system does not respect individual rights of all people equally, isn’t this a violation of section 15 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982 that guarantees, “ Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability”?
\n Also, according to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (S.C. 2001, c. 27)
\n3 (1) The objectives of this Act with respect to immigration are
\n(e) to promote the successful integration of permanent residents into Canada, while recognizing that integration involves mutual obligations for new immigrants and Canadian society;
\n(j) to work in cooperation with the provinces to secure better recognition of the foreign credentials of permanent residents and their more rapid integration into society.
\n Consequently, if it is stated on the Website of the Government of British Columbia, “The B.C. government is making credential recognition for internationally trained professionals more transparent, efficient and fair.”, does this mean that the Government of British Columbia has been treating immigrants for more than 20 years in contradiction to s. 3 (1) (e)and (j) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and, if so, why?
\n Also, if, the Government of British Columbia has been treating immigrants in contradiction to 3 (1) (e)and (j) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and in contradiction to section 15 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982, what about access of immigrants to the Court of Justice under section 24 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982 that guaranties, “Anyone whose rights or freedoms, as guaranteed by this Charter, have been infringed or denied may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction to obtain such remedy as the court considers appropriate and just in the circumstances.”? The question is whether there is access to justice for immigrants or for all people in Canada and in the province of British Columbia under section 24 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982 or not?

I moved to Canada over 20 years ago from Kenya, and it's safe to say that this has been the best decision I ever made for myself and my family. Today, I want to share some insights with those who are considering making Canada their new home.
\n
\nCanada boasts one of the world's most robust social systems, but let me be clear: it won't be a stroll down a red carpet from the airport to your dream life. You will need to put in the effort and work for it.
\n
\nIf you're a nurse from your home country, don't expect to land in Canada and start working as a nurse the next day. You'll need to go through the process of becoming registered in this country, just as you would in any other part of the world.
\n
\nWhen you arrive in Canada, give yourself time. Follow the established systems, and trust that these systems are designed to work for you. Fortunately, there are no shortcuts or backdoors in this well-structured country.
\n
\nWhether you're coming to Canada as a Landed Immigrant or a refugee, understand that there are distinct pathways to follow. Canada has a well-defined system for both.
\n
\nNow, you might have heard stories of people sleeping on the streets of Toronto for a brief moment. But let me clarify that these instances were temporary and not reflective of the broader reality. The media may not always provide the full context of such stories.
\n
\nIn major companies and hospitals across Canada, you'll find a significant number of employees who are immigrants, just like us. This illustrates the opportunities that exist in this diverse and inclusive nation.
\n
\nFor those planning to come to Canada, it's crucial to have access to the right information and cultivate the right mindset. With patience, perseverance, and a willingness to follow the system, your journey to a brighter future in Canada is well within reach.

So it’s not Mexicans trying to cross into the USA it is Venezuelans who have travelled from their country of origin to the border. To do that they have had money, access to transport and probably support from criminal gangs/people smugglers. They are not genuine refugees but economic migrants.
|

Why is the Biden administration stopping only Venezuelan and Cuban refugees. And allowing most others access. Because these communities will usually vote Republican. And the reason they are allowing near unlimited immigration at the southern border is the to replace democrat voters.

Shame on those in here whining about what they don't get that refugees get. We have access to all of that and more. Did you know that the basic needs that are provided to refugees or immigrants must be paid back to the government? They get a loan, we don't just give people money because they want to live here. Once they get their SSN and are deemed fit(usually means they speak and write English) for work they are required to find work. Many come from war torn countries or unable to provide food for their children or a safe place to live. Are you that unfeeling you don't want to help them? Canada used to be compassionate and helped others. It wasn't so long ago that our relatives immigrated here for a better life.

To me, it looks like Vice is really trying to pull the emotional card to get people to sympathize with this man because he really is in a rough situation. But, he is in a situation of his own making. It sounds like he had not done any prior research about Canada before deciding to claim refugess status. Yes, Trudeau was not giving the full truth when he made those public announcements to the media. Yes, people (educated or not) can be swayed by words of leaders they respect. But, to think you can just enter another country and claim refugee status without understanding what that actually entails is very naive. Canada has very transparent laws that are easily accessable in a multitude of different languages. The provinces also have legal assistance for those who can not afford lawyers. So, the fact that this man was able to spent $15,000 when he is being portrayed as a low income earner makes me question his income, or if he was even aware that he could apply for legal assistance. And since he has a lawyer who has been working his case, I would like to assume that the lawyer would have said something about assistance.\n\nI really want to be sympathetic for this man and his family, because security uncertainty makes life extra hard. But, as I have had to live in more than one country due to the Canadian immigration system refusing my husband due to a very old DUI (which has set our life on a completely different plan than anticipated), I have a very hard time being sympathetic when I feel as though they did not reach out to educated themselves on the laws of another country. I am a Canadian who currently can't live in Canada with my husband of 3 years and I still don't hate my country. I respect the hell out of it (this is not to get into our historic treatment of BIPOC, which deserves it's own seperate time and is a bloody stain on our land's history.)

Considering many needy Canadians do not qualify for social assistance and have no access to interest free loans to get back on their feet if they are, say, homeless or in financial trouble, this just stinks. While the video tries to downplay elements, the bottom line is that illegal refugees are a massive drain on social support services that many needy Canadians are not getting who also need it. This is an utter joke.

Why do refugees have access to social benefits at all? Do like Gulf countries, you can get work permit and work, but never citizenship, AND NEVER ACCESS TO SOCIAL BENEFITS, which are reserved to citizens only. They don't have income and don't pay taxes. Did the gouvernment ask tax payers whether they want to pay for the living of refugees in this country?? How the hell can someone justify this? Or should we say the lefty extremist gouvernment hijacks tax payers for their superior feelings?
