I feel this video does cover what's happening but don't answer the question why its happening. Here's what i think- To start with - A major population of indian immigrants in Canada come from two provinces/states - Punjab and Gujarat. From Punjab - Most of the population who migrates to Canada are villagers. They are notoriously famous in Punjab cities as well for creating trouble. They have no civic sense, always getting involved in illegal stuff, some use drugs, no etiquettes, poor hygiene and very arrogant sometimes. Another thing, Canadian government over the years stopped taking in-person interviews and got lenient with rules for gaining a visa especially for students which doesn't make sense and one should be catious so of what kind of people they are letting in their country. This leads to letting in a bunch of wrong people who are already a troublemaker in Punjab and then represents a bad of side of Indians. A side note - Every Indian province is very very different and not all people are same in India. It's definitely a shit situation which shows Canadian government definitely needed a better way to handle immigration. A lot of international students has been exploited by the system as well if you get to know from there point of view as well. Seeing the thumbnail and title of this video shows what kind of a person Tyler is. Without a proper research and understanding, he just made a video to appease people who hates on Indians. Title says Invasion, is he for real? I see way more Chinese immigrants here in Canada than any other nationality. Punjabi Indians are to be blamed as for creating a bad picture for themselves but hating on whole country without knowing them feels prejudiced. I hope whoever is reading to really open their eyes and understands that this is a government failure for not having strict rules and regulations. Indians have been immigrating to Canada for more than 100 years but you see them as a problem now due to last 8 years of bad decisions. Last thing, you see more Indians in Tim Hortons and mock them, is that a bad thing on loving and supporting a Canadian brand? Definitely poor english speaking employees is a problem, but that is a management issue. On point! He should be back as Minister of IRCC. He understands that people are gaming the system. Canada’s immigration system is being exploited by many international students, temporary workers, illegal immigrants, and even tourist visa holders. IRCC is now granting repeated extensions on tourist visas. Why are they allowing these extensions? What are these individuals expected to do in Canada for years? Many tourist visa holders have been in Canada for several years — not necessarily because they refuse to leave, but because IRCC keeps extending their status. Some of these individuals end up working illegally, taking jobs from Canadian youth and citizens, and adding pressure to the housing market. The increasing numbers of asylum claimants, international students, temporary work permit holders, tourist visa holders, and undocumented individuals are placing strain on Canada and its citizens. IRCC needs to strictly follow the law and enforce regulations. If not, Canada’s immigration system will continue to be exploited, and abusive individuals or even criminals could find it easier to enter the country.

Bruh the comment section is filled with racist people not minding india's population and seeing the not so big size of the country and still criticizing it for its poor infrastructure or people. The people also forgot how rich India was before united kingdoms invasion and how the British empire stole all the valuable resources from India like gold and used it for the development of London. It's also a fact that the people who have enough money or are rich in India live a good life where the infrastructure is good the people are good like the system in upper castes. I can easily say tyler is racist because it's just bad things about India that he shows like the photo of punjab he shows like a random street in punjab a person is driving in motorcycle and there is garbage all around and not showing the golden temple or beautiful places there. They have whole continents and ethnic nations for themselves. Now, we have little, mere, scant slivers of erable land while the rest of the world's nations still have plenty of land, except for those whom have already overpopulated themselves. While actual canadians have no opportunities and means to make products and services and compete in the marketplace for our people. Nobody seems to give a care about french and british isles canadians who built this country. Most of everyone else just moved in and out of those many just came for the government benefits and perks, and also the fact they could move their whole family and acquaintances. Let's be honest. A lot of people born here are descendants of scammers and grifters of the canadian system in some way. At this point, I think we should criticize all the various groups that have come here en masse. Most of the MPs have no spine. You can still have a liberal policy and still end immigration. It's the elephant in the room. End immigration and subsequent benefits and family unification policies.

It all boils down to how the Indians are raised in their own country. They are raised with the individual mentality. Do for yourself, and to hell with the others. Leave it for someone else to take care of. This is why their country is one of the dirtiest in all the world. They use the streets as a garbage can or toilet, then just leave it for someone else to clean it up. But, when everyone is raised with this attitude, there's no one left to clean it up. In India, they have the "untouchables". Yes, the caste system is still operating in India, although it's not recognized by the government. It's the untouchables that are supposed to clean up all the trash and feces off the streets, but they never do. They don't get paid to do it. This is why their trash clean up is so poor as far as having trucks go around and pick it up to take to a landfill. There are very few untouchables and the other people won't work for the trash pick up companies, because they feel it's beneath them. So, they trash their country and instead of cleaning it up, they move to another country to trash it. My brother used to be a truck driver for many years. Every time he saw a truck rolled over on it's side, he'd say "Must have been an Indian", because every rolled over truck he ever saw was driven by someone from India. If you look at videos of the traffic in India, you will see lot of trucks rolled over, and you'll see no one pay attention to stop lights, stop signs and everyone just cuts off everyone. This is the individual idea. I have to get somewhere, so I will cut you off to get there. It's always "Me, me, me". This attitude causes so many wrecks. Westerners have a hard time driving in India because we are all raised with everyone in mind, not just ourselves. We are a community, not an individual. We need to put a big wall around India and stop all airplanes going in and out, so they don't spread their diseased ideals of life and end up ruining another country. Do you know why India doesn't really take military training very seriously? Because no other country wants to invade and have to deal with the clean up. At this point, it's just about impossible to ever clean that country up.

Hindus and Sikhs indulged in violence against each other and saw communal riots in Canada in 2023. Indian govt infact has started assassinating naturalised Canadian citizens from India, who are deemed to be "threat" (tick off the hindu nationalidt govt in power). I know some folks, including my neighbour, who immigrated to Canada right after high School — they take services of immigration agents who have contacts with diploma mills there, get a student visa citing enrollment in a sham educational degree, join a minimum wage job and rig the whole process to attain PR & then citizenship — essentially giving low skilled, poorly assimilated labour the citizenship in Canada under guise of skilled or educated immigration. Even as an Indian, the whole situation is insane and astounding to say the least. Hindu Nationalism has spread its roots & conducts marches in Canada within the Indian Hindu areas like they do here in India and people have started performing river aartis as well (communal prayers to worship rivers) — all kinds of pernicious identitarianism is festering there. A ton of Indian immigrants now see Canada merely as a source to better life & resources, but relate to, & are patriotic towards India or assert their rawer religious Sikh or Hindu identity due to lack of any assimilatory pressure & absence of a well defined Canadian identity. Funniest part is Indians, esp Hindus, who vote for hindu nationalists ushering majoritarian policies in India, cheer for persecution of minorities and justify caste system, suddenly co-opt liberalism & decietfully use its talking points to defend their position as a minority in places they migrate to (they do not believe in so, and don't apply the same standards to themselves). If you wish to blame someone, blame the govt of Canada and its elites. At the end of the day, they wanted cheap manual labour, and opened the gates without much consideration.

I'd honestly prefer Indians over Middle Easterners. Hindus and Sikhs aren't proselytizers and generally have a much more mellow religious vibe, unlike Muslims. Plus, Indian food is the shit, I dig curry and samosas. The thing you really have to be careful of, as is the situation with any instance of mass migration, is to be aware if newcomers are taking advantage of Western social assistance programs, like the Somalis have done with the welfare system. They need to understand that to be welcomed as new Americans, they have to work. Indians have proven to be industrious through hotels and convenience shops. I'd prefer them to Middle Easterners or certain cultures of Africans. That all being said, they should also come to understand that, having moved to a modern country, there's very little point in having massive families with ten kids. No need to endlessly spawn more people to help with chores like water fetching when you have indoor plumbing. It's an unfortunate trend a lot of migrants have trouble getting over, the endless breeding that makes locals anxious that they'll become a minority in their own country in just a few generations.

Why are international students being told they might be able to stay?!?????!? You're a scumbag Mr. Immigration lawyer! After they graduate and leave, they can apply like everyone else and get in line. Their time as a student should not count for anything. Why are we fasttracking bringing grandparents of new Canadians or PR's? They don't pay taxes and put extra burden on healthcare and CPP. PR's should not be able to bring other extended family members at all. Canada's immigration system hit the breaking point 10 years ago when that failed part-time high school drama teacher took the wrecking ball to it.

Canada’s government is out of control. Immigration levels have exploded far beyond what housing, jobs, and infrastructure can support. With roughly 2.9 million temporary residents in the system, affordability has collapsed rent, food, and services are stretched to the breaking point. When permits expire, people must return home as the system was designed, not be quietly rolled over. Immigration has to match capacity. Bring people when there are jobs and homes not when the cost of living is already crushing everyone. Fix Canada first, then expand responsibly.

How dare you bring up healthcare, you know how messed up our system already is. As a nurse, and I’m not saying that people do not deserve to come to this country, that is absolutely not what I’m saying. I’m saying that our healthcare system is burdened, how can we take care of other people when we can’t afford to even take care of anybody here at this point. Do you know how many patients I have who have immigrated to Canada and their elite 60s and 70s, can’t speak a word of English and didn’t contribute anything to our economy yet their family members leave them in the hospital because they can’t walk and talk the way they used to, and refuse to take them home.

Canada has a very good immigration system that benefits the Canadian economy (point system), then there are a few bypasses that completely ruins it to grease the pockets of a few and gain cheap votes(students pipeline, abuses of family reunification, fake "refugees", ...).

The problem is immigration back in day was a luxury in India so only riches made it outside and they were rich compared to others after independence because they were more pro british and served them. So it was easy for them to immigrate and assimilate into your culture. Now you see many poor people also immigrating because immigration became more accessible, its just like the touchscreen phones, before only rich people had them, but later and now everyone has it. Plus your overly liberal and the stupid point system lets anyone enter the country if they meet a specific criteria, they barely check their english, background, crime record, etc. Also, living in India is a survival, or a nightmare for short. Especially for the poor people in the up north, and so they go to these shady agents who claim that they can send him or her to Canada, UK, Australia where ever they want in exchange for some money. Sometimes these agents turnout to be scams and sometimes not, then these students apply to some fake university that has no campus in Canada and select a course thats easy. Then once approved they come to canada, don’t go to university and make some other indian friends who say they have contacts with some job providers and through that the students get their jobs at the fast food joints and shopping malls. The mindset with which these students come to Canada is that I want to get a simple job as soon as I land in Canada and through that job I can get a PR. They never go to assimilate or discover the culture, they come because the country looks nice, has resources, and will provide them with a good salary so that they send some money back home to their parents as compared to low paying jobs in India, which too are super competitive. They still like the indian way of life, the culture, the food, the attire, just not in India. Thats why you’ll never see these students eating at anything other than a Indian Punjabi Restaurant or a fast food joint, they will never make white friends, they will never try to change the way they speak and look at Canadians, they will never try to change their driving habits. In conclusion, more poor people and students migrating, paired with their mindset of “I want everything to be Indian just not in India but in a place that looks better” paired with their low interest in actually learning and working better jobs is what makes them a bad immigrant group. But thats not to say that all are like that its only some and mostly Punjabis/ other North Indians that have this mindset. The reason why the Indian group in USA is much better and successful is because they are mostly of south indian descent. Those people are far more educated, actually respect the law of the land. And fun fact: The stereotypical Indian Accent originated from USA mainly and reason why many indians say that they don’t speak in that accent is because that particular stereotypical accent is present in Indian people who come from the states of Andra Pradesh and Telegana, which is is where most of the Indians in USA are actually from. Good journalism, both sides being presented here, the reasons why it happened, the stereotypes. While I don't really have a strong opinion about Brampton being mostly Indians, I do have an opinion that Canadians should condemn other areas as well that are majority of immigrants. Vaughn area is filled with Chinese people no one makes a fuss about it. They ain't speaking english, they aint serving American junk food everywhere, yet Indians are a problem. The community has vices, but justifying xenophobia with that is awful. European descendant people came here and took over native Canadians. Can't think how it must've felt for them. That was unarguably way worse than the current immigration system. My point being its a problem against a specific community is not really being uncomfortable for the sake of the country but purely out of spite and racism. I can see the concerns but not when they stereotype every Indian.

To be here as a citizen today, I had to pay CAD$35.000 for a two years program in Toronto. But to get the study visa I had to prove a lot of things, including money, proof that I had paid the college (at least 1st year), English, a Bachelor degree (education), a clear criminal history, and what attach me to my country. I had to study hard, and only after graduation I could have 3y work permit. By working in Canada I could get more point to become a permanent resident. After 2y having my PR, I could get the citizenship, but I had to prove I pay taxes, clear criminal history, and other things that show I would be a good citizen. So, I worked (and still work) hard, I am currently in two jobs and at school taking my masters, I respect the laws, I respect the culture (I never tried to impose mine), and I pay over CAD$10.000 in taxes per year on my income. That said, I feel as a slap on my face when fraudulent and dishonest people are able to be here cheating the system in any way. Some people may say I am an immigrant against immigration. NO, I am in favor of people taking the right path to immigrate, and make real contributions for this country, not coming to be scammers and criminals.

I’m the son of Indian immigrants who came into Melbourne, Australia 34 years ago, my mom came with her family of 8 and my father came here by himself. The exact same thing is happening over here. We have suburbs in our eastern side which have turned into pockets of Punjab and Haryana. We have been in the restaurant industry for 30 years now, these students are taking our cash in what is a ‘cashless economy’. We’ve had one particular instance where a former employee faked her marriage certificates in order to get her permanent residency, now she’s in trouble with the authorities and may face some years in jail. The problem is they like taking ‘shortcuts’ and then they get stuck and expect us as employers to save them. The systems put into place have been exhausted to the point where is it useless.

Where did the point system go? Why is the canadian government not strict with fact-checking the documents being submitted by applicants? I thought Canada is stricter but I guess Indians are already treating it like the middle east where they can just pay the schools from their country to submit fraudulent papers saying they have a master's degree in computer science but when they start working, they couldn't even do proper coding!

Accountability should fall on the Government of Canada. They stopped screening properly. There used to be a point system that determined who could immigrate, and it actually worked. I’m of Pakistani descent, born and raised here, and when I’m in Brampton and walk into a Circle K, people start speaking to me in Hindi or Punjabi right away — it’s a trip. At the same time, I’m not saying everyone coming is bad. A lot of international students and new immigrants are hardworking people who want to build a better life. But plenty are also gaming the system. The real issue is that Canada messed up by letting in too many at once, with no structure to help them assimilate. When there’s no integration, no surprise people just act like they’re back home.

When i immigrated here amost 30 years ago, not a single $ was given to me by the stupid government. In the UK in 1860 7 year old boys (and girls) worked 12 hour shifts in mines and factories, most died before they had children themselves. A hundred years later in 1960 the school leaving age was 15 and life expectancy had reached 70 plus and people worked a 40 hour week with paid holidays and a pension to come in your later years. The first time in thousands of years that the average person could have a decent life and live more than an average of thirty years. We now just take that for granted and the third world instead of working to improve their own countries want to come here and live off the system we have created. Our polticians have guilt tripped us into having compassion for these people and now the shear weight of numbers is dragging us backwards and reversing 150 years gains, we are now at the point that if drastic is not taken we will be back to pre Victorian times within 10 years.

On housing, seems that the government is attempting to inflate housing prices, as this strategy significantly boosts the economy by presenting favorable GDP figures on paper.

The points system is why Canadians have a good impression of immigrants. When you let in english or french speaking well or over-educated new citizens, people will have a good impression of these hardworking people. When you let in gobs of just anyone.. you end up with Brampton, Ontario, or Sweden, where foreign nationals have brought their own opinion of how life should be to a previously high trust/well functioning area. Like the opposite of gentrification. Basically slumification, a reduction in trust, an increase in crime, an increase in corruption.. Who would have thought there would one day be new Canadian citizens calling for Sharia Law in Canada? That is when immigration "jumped the shark", and the system needs fixing. And Canada already has the fix: Limit immigration to economically well off migrants who meet the points quota: ie, they are educated and speak english or french. And greatly restrict refugees... we have enough homeless and economically useless people, we do not need more.

They should add sharing our national holidays to the points system.

One thing also never discussed: because the point system prioritizes specialized labor, almost all immigrants are men. This has led to a massive demographic distortion with somewhere around 56% of people 35 and under in canada being men. You mention that Americans are 30% more expensive than Canadians but you dont mention that the US is far more unequal with a Gini coefficient of 0.41 vs 0.35 in Canada. Now there is also a known issue with using GDP data to calculate productivity and that is that in sme countries the labor of GDP is much lower than in others. You then end up with Irish productivity being the second highest in the world only because most large US corporations operating in the EU register there to pay lower taxes but most of that revenue is just on paper for Ireland. or with Guyana whose oil and mining revenue makes it productivity equal to that of the US. In Japan buildings depreciate in value, like cars, so the house I built last year is worth less this year (and my taxes on it are less). When I first got here I thought it was a horrible system, but now I see what a powerful benefit it is. Housing is quite affordable and there are lots of mixed neighborhoods, like mine, with million-dollar homes, small multi-units, and fewer gated communities. We suffer from a blight of abandoned buildings because at a certain point it just doesn't make economic sense to fix up an old (often cheaply made) home. But because home ownership is a luxury, like a fancy car, not a necessary means to accrue wealth, mortgages and rents are low and there's cheap (and small, so very very small) housing everywhere.

I watched African migrants daily using La Paz, Mexico as a stopping point on their route to the US border. They were almost exclusively male from 20-35 years old. I'm not sure how they entered Baja but they used the bus system to go north. Mexico now says they won't allow it, but they certainly were for a period of weeks I witnessed.
