Let's imagine that the tariffs will actually be effective and three thousand companies from all over the world will come back. 3,000 companies will start producing, they need people. Where they pay American wages. These companies left because they could produce the product cheaper abroad and Americans could buy it cheaper. If all the companies come back, prices will increase by 30%. And 70 percent of the population will buy 30% more expensively. Inflation will run wild. Poverty will increase. What's the point of this?? Who is doing well? This is the question. Who is doing well?? It's not the majority of people for sure. They are probably friends of the president. Otherwise, they wouldn't support this stupid idea so mindlessly.

I’m a dual citizen of the USA and the UK and have been so disgusted by Trump, he projects evil, he’s smarmy and egotistical. I am trying to get my Architect's license but immigration Canada keeps giving all the Intern Architect jobs to immigrants instead of Canadians like me who want to build more housing. I effectively spent a chunk of my childhood in America with relatives. I treasured these memories, but now all the feelings of wonder and happiness when thinking of my visits to America have faded. Now I just think of how selfish it was to sabotage Canada. American private equities want to rock our system and buy up all they can and so I am happy we are watching for this. I think Donald did this to try and buy up Canadian companies. This should be made illegal. I am willing to suffer for up to pull the plug on all resources and energy going to America “suddenly” do they have no time to adapt and collectively suffer. You know I’ve been killing myself working non stop for like a decade trying to hold it all together because of all the increased prices of everything. As a result I have not been paying attention. I know the tariff thing was happening, but didn’t know why this was a thing. \n\nShame on me for not being more up to date. \n\nI also know nothing about Trudeau or his political stance on literally anything aside from what he talked about in this video. \n\nI must say this was of speaking is EXACTLY what I expect from a world leader. Everything was delivered very well and without personal emotions. He’s not going off the cuff and saying whatever pops into his head. THIS is the exact style of communication we need from world leaders. I don’t see how it helps anyone, anywhere in the world to have people in control of nuclear armed nations to be shooting from the hip with communication.

This is not anti-American, it is just fighting back from an unnecessary trade war. It does however break my heart because many Canadians have family on the U.S. side. I know it would also break my father’s heart as he grew up in New England and had a lifetime affection for the U.S. I despise politics and have not been a proud Canadian for a few years but I have to admit that this speech is getting me going again. Canada needs to get its act together and rebuild its military, not to fend off the U.S. but to hold its own should other countries decide we are ripe for the picking. I want U.S.-Canada relations to be tight again. We’re neighbor. We will have our disagreements and that’s fine but these trade wars will hurt everyone and, if it lasts, may leave lasting grievances.

As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies. Both countries benefited from having a good relationship and now the great US has no one willing to challenge Mr Trump on this idiotic move, America is alienating themselves from a lot of countries and regular Americans are the ones who are going to suffer from this fall-out, the rich won't be affected but regular working class folks your stress is going to get a whole lot worse and that's unfortunate. Hopefully US wises up sooner rather than later and stop blaming immigration for their problems it's poor governing and politicians that have us looking at each other as enemies rather than humans with the same struggle and issues. They have money to send annually overseas but none to improve the life of their citizens in need, that should tell you something. People that don't look like you aren't your enemies, people who try to harm you, undermine you are your enemies. People are just searching for a better life that's all, the most basic thing humans have in common, change the red tape a make things more structured and rid your country of the bad apples and welcome those willing to work, build and serve God and the country.
