I am so sick of this shit... you guys act like white people didn't do this exact same thing years ago but because they aren't white and have a different culture then "most" Canadians it becomes a problem. Canada accepts a lot of immigrants more then the US but if the US had a less strict immigration policy it would probably look very similar. Canada is super under populate comparing it to other countries of the same exact size. Hey Canadians can we not be as racist as the flipping Americas. Saying that they're is an invasion of people who have proper documentation and are allowed to live in Canada is racist. To say you want people of a different race or culture is flipping racist no matter what way you spin it. Tyler there are 600 mass shootings in the U.S each year which is almost 2 a day per average and while they do not all take place in schools, how many mass shootings are tolerable? As long as Americans like yourself dismiss all the data to the contrary the U.S will continue to have the tragedies it does, When you look up mass shootings which is where there are more than 2 victims per incident you'll find Canada doesn't even register in those statistics because where the U.S has 600 mass shootings a year Canada hasn't had 600 in its last 100 years. So that is why Canadians mention school shootings as a reason, because the potential is real for it to happen. It is preventable tragedy but Americans as a whole need to want that change, until it does the rest of the world will always bring up gun violence and school shootings when the U.S is in the discussion. Have resided in America for a period of time...in a smaller community.. the Americans are beautiful warm people which I met..Canadians are quick to bias there opinion of america..if your free enterprising I had a wonderfully time there..and willing to understand Americans think quite different . Americans say what they need in negotiations Canadians say what are you prepared to give me outta the deal.....as for other respondents fear of safety and socialist needs..there are general laws in both countries which protect all.......Canadian see is legacy media accounts of violent events... America's population is 10 x s that of Canada are greatly inflluenced buy Canadian legacy brand media . Accounts people should really factor that into the equation..there have been some absolutely crazy violent events happen in Canada involving guns and other instruments... I’ve lived in both countries in small towns and big cities Hell No Thanks and I would have great insurance. I remember in preschool having to do active shooter drills in the US nope. If you look at stats on gun violence and mass shootings it’s crazy. The US leads by an astronomical amount. Tyler says the US has more access to guns and although I have no idea where to get a gun I think people could get one pretty easily but we don’t need them. I can walk in the dark and not fear for my safety and Canada has only had 3 mass shootings in its whole history. Of course medical, dental, education, women’s rights, maternity and paternity leave, unemployment, help when Covid lockdown happened, clean free water in homes, housing, … on and on. America the “free” is antiquated and no longer true. Education has slid to 30 something in world rankings and Canada is in the top 3. Cost of education, daycare, child benefits ect. I could write paragraphs. Also it’s hilarious when you hear American say oh we’ll just moved to Canada like they can just drive here and settle down?!?there’s a border and you can’t illegally just move here and get a job. If you’ve lived in both countries you’d know the difference. I don’t even want to vacation there anymore since about 10 years or so ago.
