Yall are sheep. \nEvery country needs imports. But America relies on so many other countries to keep itself going is more than unhealthy. If China and the US went to war, yes, China would suffer. But look around your house, I bet most of it says - Made In China. That can NOT happen to the extent it is. \n\nFun Fact- when Russia, Ukraine war started, Russia couldn’t get Coke ( Soda ) now Russia has many knock offs that they say taste just like ours. Point is, Russia started making their own. Yes, the US will always need imports. But did you know over a dozen + countries already have & had tariffs on the US for a LONG time, some are even our “ Allies “. Do you know why they do it? To protect their economy. To protect domestic goods. The short term is always the hardest. But it’s been proven that the long run, tariffs actually help a country’s economy. Also, the US gets shafted when it comes down to a lot of trade deals. Yeah, okay, imports are great… ( If you are getting a good deal )

Prime Minister Trudeau is boldly hitting the nails on the head, and I admire his boldness and honesty as I've always admired Canada and its peoples. Trump is in the back pocket of the Russian dictator. His actions prove it to my satisfaction. Canada has been a staunch friend of the US, a real partner not just for economic benefits for both countries but for a democratic way of life. Canada is a strong democracy whose people are known for their open hearts and minds. I pray that this idiotic trade war started by a man who is subservient to Putin will come to an end. I say to Canadians, let us stick to our common values of democracy, free expression, peaceful borders, and our commitment to the greatest good of the many rather than the greatest good of the few and the Russian dictator.

Ah yes, the trade war that Canada will surely lose. I love Canada. Wouldn't trade it for the world, but this is a losing battle by which citizens on both sides will feel the full effect. Trump appeasing Putin is a chess move, that the PM seems to be overlooking. The US can't afford to go to war with Russia, but at the same time, it needs resources within Russia's neighboring region. So the US will do what they always do, and had people listened to what Kissinger had to say, they'd be better prepared for this. Nonetheless, let's stand proud and strong, and come together as Canadians in order to get through this.

Trade wars always comes before an actual war (happened before WW1 and America waged a trade war with Japan prior to WW2). I predict America will be invading Mexico first in a blitzkrieg and then when the US economy is in a war economy it'll try to invade Canada. Heck Trump has already stated as much when he said Canada will be the 51st state of America.

México nowdays has a efficient, knowledgeable. and honest president that wanted to have fair trade agreements with Canada and the United States ...however the US government choose to fight and blame the neighbors to the north and south by braking every single rule of the free trade among the three countries ......CHINA , CANADA AND MEXICO ....oviously will retaliate the same way and Definitely the US citizens will be the most hurt ....mexico always have been resilient from wars. Pandemics , bad politicians , economy , etc etc etc ....mexicans have the strength to recovery sooner than later and this one won't be diffrent .....mexico will continue to have agreements with Europe. Asia , and Latin America with the option to have talks with bricks ...we all know the world is totally diffrent.now .....The 1800s are gone and will never come back that's for sure !!

When produce prices jump in the stores because a lack of labor? When building contractors lose a portion of there labor building houses?? When the meat processors like tyson meats and others have illegals working through labor contractors!!!! Yes those of you who say how can they work? I do not see Americans as friends to Canada. we have had a softwood lumber dispute for 30 years now. Canada has different laws which Americans will never accept. when it comes to trade, Americans are not Free Trade or Fair Trade but Trade domination to eliminate competition. Boeing cried about Bombardier and secured a 200% tariff, while the Canadian company has no products to compete against Boeing....\n\nCanada still suffers from tariffs on our steel and Aluminum. \n\nAmericans are only friendly if Canada submits.... the latest NAFTA agreement saw Canada accepting American milk.... dumping into Canada at the expense of our farmers. The USA has an over supply of milk and rather than adjusting production to meet demand America is using Canada as a dumping ground.\n\nAmerican companies have come to Canada and destroyed many Canadian companies, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Costco to name a few. these companies push very hard American products while ignoring Canadian suppliers. In no way would the US ever allow such a concentration of foreign businesses to take control of their economy. \n\nThe USA has been the only nation to violate Canadian Sovereignty.\n\nThousands of Canadians have died to protect the USA, but I can find no American who has died to protect Canada.\n\nCanada has fought in many American wars.\n\nCanada has supported the US during its many hurricanes.... I do not see Americans supporting Canada.\n\nIt must be noted that the USA has the largest military force in the world, yet they always ask for other nations to help them in wars. \n\nthe only nation to invoked Article 5 of NATO has been the USA... Canada responded and assisted America.\n\nThe USA is not a friend really, friends do not treat their partner with such disrespect. \n\nBut hey, Americans flood to Canada to buy lower cost medicines rather that fix their own systems.
