As a brown guy who is born and raised here, not every brown person is Indian. There are Guyanese, Trinidadians, Sri Lankans, Bengali, Nepali etc people that are in no way related, linguistically, culturally or religiously to people from Punjab that have been here decades and respect the land, the culture and learn English. The majority of the mass migration as of late has come from one state in India. Many are good people, but many try to make Canada the home they left. Too bad the rest of us south asians and west indians are painted with this broad brush.

I’m a Canadian Jamaican and I don’t recognize the country. The people coming in lately are hostile to the place they seek support from. It’s ridiculous and bazaar. I’m seeing so many places for rent stipulating that they outright prefer or are seeking Indian. I’m not white but I’m tempted to post an ad for place to rent and say it’s for for white tenants just to behold what happens. I’ve been working since 78 and now a senior but when I try to get help for housing I’m offered a night only shelter with mental and drug abusers to go try sleep in or the sidewalk or countless apologies. Look, I'm a white Canadian, and I don't hate Indians at all. However, lately, there are far too many Indians arriving here. I live in a small town, and the vast majority of the workers in all our franchise restaurants, Walmart, hotels, etc, are Indian. Yes, some Indians really have been pooping on the beach. I've seen videos posted by Indians about Indians pooping on beaches in places like Goa. No, not all Indians do that, but it doesn't reflect well on Indians. My next-door neighbours are Indian immigrants, and stereotypically, they own a pizza franchise lol. Their children play at our house with our daughter almost every day. On a negative note, they only hire other Indians to work in their store. In general, the indians that are in Canada do need to work on their cultural integration. My neighbours brought their parents over, and they aren't even trying to learn English. I don't want Canada to become like India. Also, I dont think that most Indian immigrants really want that either, but if we keep flooding Canada with Indians, that will eventually happen.

In my state Kerala, we feel very offended when we see migrant workers from north, north east and northeast india and even Tamil nadu.. because they don't follow any rules, they are involved in crimes and of late they have started imposing their ways in Kerala.. a few days back I had to call the police after a Bengali migrant worker stared, whistled and eve teased my wife from the near by construction yard. Just like that when we Indians go to foreign countries I'm sure those foreigners also feel the same about us when we try to push our ways into their culture..

So I understand why Canadians feel they way they do. Especially the ones born and raised here. I'm 31, was born here, and I often feel the same way everyone else does. The only problem that I see is that the issues that are in Canada are also in every other Western country. I'm concerned with the future, but I also know that throughout every generation, there are ups and downs. I'm willing to stick it out. I live outside of Toronto,I love the lack of natural disasters and access to water, and I still feel very safe. Although crime is up, it is nothing compared to the U.S. \n\nI'm actually living quite comfortably. Although my costs have gone up, I have made smart decisions in my life that allow me to live well. I own my own house, don't have car or credit card debt, and I only need to earn 40k a year to cover all of my bills. Every cent extra I earn goes to paying down my mortgage, gym, and golf once a week. \n\nThe question is, is it better l elsewhere? I don't know, but I am trying to be happy with what I have instead of what I could have had by being born 30 years too late. Ultimately, I would rather stay here work within the system to change it and continue to make smart decisions that put me ahead. Starting out all over again makes my stomach sick, and I love this country, despite it's flaws and its government, it has great people and beautiful nature. \n\nBest wishes to all of you other Canadians, and let's make it the Canada we want and deserve again.

I am also born and bred in Canada, I left in 2000 to the US. Had to come back in 2004 due to a layoff. Left in 2008 back to the US again then to Asia. I stayed in Asia until late 2021 and came back again because of the kids. However these 3 years I have seen this country go downhill fast and I really find it a hellhole and is much worse than in the 1990s when I was growing up. The cost of living, job situation, immigrant overrun, woke mentality is just horrendous. I am trying to leave again because I am just disappointed in this country and also exploring how to leave permanently.
