As an indian living in canada im going to say this punjabis are not living in brampton because it feels like home most of them come to canada to flex and probably because the city is swamped with their people so they don’t have to communicate in english, i cant even count the number of times these people have talked to me punjabi while i tell them i don’t speak punjabi and they start getting offended ask me why i dont , like bro I’m from a different part of india , why don’t you speak my mother tongue or english to begin with , also the flexing culture they have is crazy , all i want to say is if you don’t know how to communicate in a language and still move to that country and complain you don’t have enough opportunities in your country you might be at fault not your country nor the new one that you moved into,most of them don’t even have papers , want a separate country for themselves, lack the skills and yet they are living like this, blame the government who let this happen not the rest of us.

Whats not fair is that they came here for a better life and now our quality of life has suffered. I went to an indian resteraunt with a friend of mine and i could see into the kitchen and the guy who was cooking was barefooted and as he came to deliver the food he slid into a pair of slippers. I asked him if he was cooking in bare feet and he lied saying OHHH no maam and then he lifted his foot. I looked at my friend and said this is grose and im going to McDonalds. And everyone in Mcdonalds was Indian too. FUCC that. Canada doesnt even look Canadian anymore. We honestly look Asian and its the Liberals who are doing it. Get rid of White Canadians. So even a small fraction of that population would contribute towards a large migration, so no "Indians are so proud of India but they don't want to live there" is absolute bullshit. As for as people living in your countries are concerned, I would ask you to be as objective as possible in situation rather than being stereotypical. If you see a person doing bad thing, call them out, it doesnt matter whether they are "Indian" or otherwise.

Most of this issue is caused by north Indians who find it hard to assimilate especially the Sikhs. And the issue was caused by the canadian government who prioritized quantity over quality. As an indian immigrant there are times I feel disgusted by their behavior. Due to this behavior the nicer Indians who hold up canadian values are getting the same discrimination. Me myself is a catholic indian who had to leave the country because of the religious bullshit caused by north Indians. We were not even allowed to have a peaceful Christmas in India. As I moved to Canada I faced more racism from north Indians as I eat beef and pork and dont speak hindi. It breaks my heart everytime when I get discriminated from people thinking that i am a punjabi. I just want to live a normal life and follow my faith. Its sad that they dont let us live peacefully in india and in Canada.

Hey! Im a sikh that was born in canada, with my parents, grand father, great grand father also being in this beutiful country. I wanted to start of by saying a couple of things. My home was in brampton for a long time and I have personally seen the safety gone down, my family used to come back from trips with our garage open and everything would be completely fine. The long term sikhs and indians came and actually contributing positively and that can be seen with how good canada was pre 2020. Immigration too an extent was good, but mass immigration was never a good idea. In 2018-2019 the old time punjabi community was heavily against so many students coming in, so much so people that were indian had "no students" signs when renting their basements. It's sad to see people that came here running things so badly and ruining the effort and contributions made by many(I even face the consqeunces of things I have never done). Remeber don't be afraid to call out people for their bullshit, but also dont bash innocent people. Now many ppl came to canada and have done good like sikhs having the highest donors of blood, plasma, and platelets. We also giveway a lot in charity and food. A good news is Canada is cracking down on these bad people and quickly, and many good people who came are returning back home. I have seen a lot of videos online, but please remember algorithms and pushed media make things seem worse than they actually are. My message is I'm sorry for how these people are acting, my recent trip to Canada(brampton) I saw better quality service and more white folk too. Stay safe and god bless!

The Indian people are nice dont get me wrong, but the issue is there are to many of them and alot of them dont want to lwarn our language after moving here and they start businesses but only hire other Indians because of the language barrier. They are also buying up all the houses and alot of them will only rent to their own making it very difficult for Canadians to find houses to rent. Even half the realtors are indian. We have no jobs left very few houses and its makkng Canadians go homeless

As a Brampton raised kid, I lived there from 97' till about 2023, I'm caribbean and we have a large indian/muslim/hindu population too on our island. (Trinidad) and the issue with Brampton is: Indian people will gladly intergrade, but Canadian borns won't welcome it. Walk with me- I'll use food for an example. Every other grocery store is middle eastern/asian/african in Brampton and its becomes harder finding more western style food. I love international food, I cook it often but if you're used to burgers and pizza and only know how to make spaghetti it feels like a 'take over' These people want what they want and even though all these places are free for you to also enjoy they don't like it cause it's too 'foreign' to them. It doesn't mean there isnt still a No Frills or a Walmart or Metro, but because the african and halal store are closer and more frequent it seems like more of a convenience to others and not to you. When people say we're multi-cultural, they mean 'yeah he's brown or black but he keeps it to himself' They aren't going to go to that Sikh temple giving free food, and only go to the church at the beginning even though they're welcome to both. It's the same for Diwali and other things, white people dont care to be interested in those things, and just wonder why they get to have it at all. I do agree with that indian lady at the beginning though, with lax immigration you come in feeling like you don't need to do anything to assimilate. They're doing themselves a disservice by only helping themselves. I hate stereotypes being perpetuated onto people but like that Pakistani guy said too, you live in a bubble and you don't pay attention to that. You can go days without speaking english to someone. You can't immigrate somewhere and shut out everyone already there. I get you may not feel welcome by the white people like the ones in the beginning and so you dont mess with them, and its easy not to. But there needs to be openness with helping everyone benefit from multi-culturalism and not just some of us. There are issues with immigrants not wanting to go outside their bubble and for canadians not to want to either, It'll be hard to (with the current issues we're facing as a country) to actually blend together more.

I knew an indian guy from work who was convinced he was subject to racism bc he and 4 OTHER men from india went to a park at around 9pm and a lady yelled at them to shut up. ME: She prob just wanted silence my gawd. Loud speaker phones, no sense of respect for the park....like come on. Give the lady some peace. its so disrespectful... So I reside in Ontario, I live in a city they call the armpit of Ontario. And everytime I come to this restaurant (I dont want to say what restaurant but if u ask id tell you) - I would see a lot of them coming in by groups and they wear clothes like they still live back to whatever country they are from and would sit on their chairs cross legged as other people eat their food. Every hour theres dozens of them coming and I came to think are these people even legally here. It is just crazy to me as a legal immigrant where me and my family waited for 8 years for the application process, spent hundreds of thousands of money meanwhile I see people that arent from here and not even try to assimilate to Canadian culture. It is just infuriating.

It's the governments' fault for allowing so much immigration. People from 3rd world countries will always want a better life for their children which is why they work so hard to become doctors and engineers and then migrate. I grew up with integration that I LOVED, met people from all over the world. I've been working since I was 14 I've worked for people from all over the world , rented from different people since I was 18 and learned great things I can add to my construction or cooking repertoire that you could possibly couldn't learn in the West without diversity. BUT now we have a group of people coming here buying up businesses while only hiring people from their country buying up single homes putting up crammy 8 plexus, and only renting to people from their home country. As a Canadian, I am so sick and tired of being told that i have this bullshit nonsense, non-existent " white privilege," which is a load of shit. I am terrified for my little girl when it is time for her to get a job because my little girl and I are white, so we are put at the bottom of the list for being employed. Was all 20 years of “her” service as a transgender, if not, then her case has no ground to stand on, because its even worse for the soldiers around “her” to have to deal with that shit. No place for transgenders in the military, cause now they’re asking to be included, next they’ll be crying about their own toilettes and barracks and everything else. All soldiers left their life behind to be part of the military, and they wanna allow this. Dont care how good they are suppose to be, they are a distraction, and the military is the last place you want people distracted. They dont have so many transgender troops that it will take decades to fill their place, STOP WITH THE BS. 1 person being successful, mainly because of what they did before the transition, does not make “her” proof that its not a problem. Thats like in the middle of corona and i stand there and say “corona isnt a problem look at me, im healthy” while other people are dying. 1 person can equal proof or can equal an anomaly.
