I’m 60 years old and am now seriously looking to leave Canada. Canada will become a failed country in the next 10 years (or sooner) and I don’t see anything changing. You can’t keep on borrowing endlessly without consequences, most Canadians don’t understand how economics work.

It's not race that makes countries great or bad. Since there is just one human race. Its the culture that makes places great. Culture or shared ideas among the populace. Specially ideas of being open minded, living and letting live, freedom, being tolerant etc. These are the best ideas or culture that if held long enough by the majority of the people will turn that place into a great civilization indeed.
Every great civilization of history was built through this culture in history. persian empire, macedonian empire, roman empire, british empire and now the united states etc... were/are all very diverse and very tolerant of indians and their ideas... cultural exchange of ideas through indians and receiving diverse viewpoints which helped them become great. However great empires, great places and civilizations never last. They fall down. They fall down once the culture changes. which is natural since culture is not static but dynamic, since it exists only in the minds of people, it can change in the same generation, or in the next - all it takes is replacing existing ideas with other ideas in the minds of people large enough.
This is what we are seeing happening in canada and India... a shift of culture. The same culture of responsible for turning India into a terrible country is being adopted by canadians. Meanwhile for the past few decades.. india on the other hand has been adopting the better culture and growing slowly and steadily with many mistakes and hurdles along the way towards a brighter future... slowly because its huge... steadily because it knows where to go.... mistakes and hurdles because its an open democracy...
If this cultural shift keeps continuing this way... There will come a time where canada would look more like afghanistan and India will look like the us or scandinavia... However i hope thats not the case. and its just a phase that does not lead to some significant revolution in terms of peoples thinking.

Yeah mad frustrating with the increase at times, Im all for more people coming over but don't fucking try to change it into the place you're trying to escape from? The Disrespect seeing them ignore the anthem and the rudeness towards woman and children can be downright disgusting

I don't know how every day Canadians are expected to fix this mess when our wealthy, well connected ppl can't. Based on the last two elections - voting isn’t going to fix it either when elections are being rigged and infringed upon. I love my Country but I would welcome being the 51 st state right now because I am so discouraged and see no hope or change on the horizon.

I typically do not agree with a lot of what the conservatives say, and I usually do not like anything that Michelle Rempel Garner says (or the way she says it). However, what she said here, and the way she said it, makes complete sense. I was a bit disappointed that there are no actual numbers as to how much the government would save, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea to put the legislation in place, and whatever they save is a bonus. imho
Be the Change You Wish to See in the World 💖

I grew up in Brampton from 1985 to 2010. I watched it change. Not for the better. I got the hell out there and every time I go back to visit my fam, it's even worse. Almost never seeing any other race but Indian lol. It all has to do with Trudeau's dad designating that city as a go-to place for Indian migrants. The Trudeau's are part of the whole Satanic New World Order, and part of that order is using mass immigration as a weapon to destroy 1st world countries. His father started it back in the 70s. And yeah the driving is absolutely horrible. The car insurance skyrocketed. They destroyed the city I grew up in. It's a shit hole now. Many of them will tell you that India itself is a shit hole, but the more of them that come to Brampton, or wherever, they turn it into India. I don't consider it racism. It's their people but it's not like it's all of them, but it is a lot. From personal observance, they're the most unhygienic people I've ever met, and they love easy jobs the involve scamming others out of money. All of those scam callers are Indian. Nothing else. They have no dignity. No self respect. They just want money and don't care how to get it. I generally don't like them, but it's because of their negative behaviors. There are plenty of other races that come to Canada that people love. Have you ever heard of anyone complain about Filipinos? No. They're loved. They come here and know how to assimilate while keeping their own heritage intact in respect to our own. They're friendly, respectful, hygienic. Indian people just want to come here and make this place Indian and they have tons of kids, so that's exactly what's happening. Brampton was cooked years ago. It's just going to devour itself and fully become an extension of India, and it already has been spreading out from Brampton to the surrounding cities.

When I was a small child, I had planned to go to European and American countries based on my knowledge and good values and not for money because I thought that people with good education and rules followed lived there. Now I am 18 and it is very sad to see that people who lack basic manners are going there in exchange of money, yes it is true that you cannot bring knowledge and good values in yourself with money, European people and American people should also think about this and should ask questions to their government that why are they bringing these people to get profit in the vote bank or are they very educated people, but looking at the condition it is not true that Their parents may have also taught them basic manners, many Indians do not have the flexibility to change their habits after seeing the country, but they would have had problems with people coming to their country from outside who did not live in the Indian culture, but if they did not live with outsiders and were forbidden to do that, then that would be racism! One should follow whatever religion one wants but see again it should change with the new environment, even in nature when a species migrates to a new place it follows the rules and practices it uses, it does not mean that its genetics change completely.

As a Canada who speaks both French and English and who follows politics quite closely, I have to say that the headline and some of the reporting here is quite misleading.
A reduction in immigration has broad support across Canada. I wouldn't say that notion is dividing the country in any significant way.
You do have certain industry groups that disagree, but among the population these reductions have broad support.
This is a historic change in public opinion in Canada, but it has been driven by the unprecedented increase in immigration under the last term of the Trudeau government. To put this in context, non-permanent residents in Canada numbered around 1.5 million on Q3 2023, but by Q3 2025, that number sat a just over 3 million. The previous government increased immigration targets by 3 or 4 times over what they had been for years, which caused a number of economic issues. Essentially, the volume was simply too high for the economy and society to support. This was unfair to both Canadians and new comers, many of which could not find employment or afford a decent place to live.
The changes being suggested are largely bringing Canada back to what the targets were for over a decade before, though a bit lower to account for the sudden surge. Canada remains one of the most pro-immigration countries in the world.
However, and this is where I think DW's reporting is misleading, there is a distinction to be made between policies at the federal level and policies at the provincial level.
Immigration, per our constitution, is a federal matter, however, Quebec in particular is distinct from other provinces. I don't mean only culturally and linguistically, but also in the powers that have been devolved to it by the federal government.
On the question of immigration, Quebec has more powers and more ability to set its immigration targets and programs than any of the other 9 provinces.
The particular program discussed here, the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), is a particular immigration stream that only existed in Quebec. So what is happening with that program cannot be labeled as a whole-of-Canada thing.
Where the changes to the PEQ are controversial, unlike the general changes at the federal level, is that people who immigrated under that specific program were promised certain things. There was a multi-year time line to Permanent Residency and then Citizenship. Many of those people have been in Quebec for 5-8 years already. However, the changes made to the program were done in such a way where people who many years into the program, had gotten an education, started a career, had children, ect. are now being told they can't continue and must leave Canada.
There are even stories of people who married Canadians, now have children, and the one parent who was under this program now faces the possibility of having to leave Canada and be separated from their family. All through no fault of their own.
That is what many people see as unfair, and I agree, however limiting future applications under the program, to bring in less people, that is not controversial.
Canada has no responsibility to bring in people who are not already in Canada, but Canada does have some responsibility towards people who uprooted their lives to move to Canada and built new lives here based on promises and representations made to them by the Canadian and Quebecois governments. We should no simply kick those people out of the country.

go to any well established foreign cultured areas and you will never see this. China town, little italy, they offer a little taste of their culture, but never stopped being Canadian. Indians on the other hand... are trying to change Canada into India.

Disgusting, changed Canadian cities to Indian cities along with the culture, scams, mess, etc & our government doesn't see this bc its all done on purpose to punish the "white ppl mentality" all woke idealogy.
Canada, yeah ... all BS

Honestly, they are great people and I think they bring a lot of culture and family orientation back to Canada I feel like it’s roots. I mean, we are the first generation with cell phones so things aren’t gonna go well for the first generation so I hope to see change in the next, but I really hate the racism. Because at the end of the day, this world belongs to all of us. I’m married to a Punjab. And I’m very thankful I met him feel like a lot of Canadian men. Have become victims to the red pill ideology or cell phones are really just becoming a part of their ideologies. Indian families bring back real love and authenticity. My only problem is the criminals that are coming into the country that are hurting people when we already have enough problems in our own country.

A lot of Indian truck drivers that are making way too many lane changes for an 18 wheeler on the highway too.... Very aggressive driving. I see it all the time on my work commute on highway 1.

Whats not fair is that they came here for a better life and now our quality of life has suffered. Every person will tell you how things have changed negatively because of the Indians, Punjabi's and Pakistanis. None of them aligns with Canadian values. I feel its very rude and nerve-racking of them to come here and then try to change our culture to look like what they just came from. They are a dirty people. They have no rules when it comes to cleanliness in their food factories. They literally use their filthy feet to help in the preparation of food that is shipped to Western countries. Its a common agreement that we dont want them here. Even natural-born Indians dont want them here. They know how disgusting their hygiene practises are. I went to an indian resteraunt with a friend of mine and i could see into the kitchen and the guy who was cooking was barefooted and as he came to deliver the food he slid into a pair of slippers. I asked him if he was cooking in bare feet and he lied saying OHHH no maam and then he lifted his foot. I looked at my friend and said this is grose and im going to McDonalds. And everyone in Mcdonalds was Indian too. FUCC that. Canada doesnt even look Canadian anymore. We honestly look Asian and its the Liberals who are doing it. Get rid of White Canadians. Bring in Dumb down indians and they will never lose another election

I know everyone says "why dont you move back to India, instead of making this place like India?" Truth is, people want to replicate their home countries and cultures, MINUS the things that made them leave. Political corruption, poor living conditions and struggling economy. Its like a revised version. Considering they dont make huge political changes, I dont see a problem with that tbh

There’s simply too much money involved. Believe it or not, Western adversaries have found this as a way to weaken the West. Most people don’t see it, but that’s exactly what’s happening. A country is just a piece of land without its people and its culture.
If you bring in Indians your cities and town will become Indian..
Canada’s government appears to be selling out its people and its future. There was a time this would’ve been called treason, but the country has clearly changed at its core.

I just watched Tucker’s interview with the man that made the documentary “Replacing Europe” and it was very eye opening! Even if you are not a fan, I encourage you to watch. This is happening all over!! Apparently, many places in Europe can’t even build a military because they don’t have anyone to actually fight for Europe due to them all being migrants. Lots of other interesting things I didn’t know. Honestly, it’s kind of heartbreaking to see such beautiful places changed so drastically and becoming so dangerous for everyone. Nothing against the good people, but unfortunately it is not the majority. So much corruption exposed and it goes all the way to the top in every government involved! 💔💔💔

As a canadian I really feel this, thanks these indians and our government getting a job is a nightmare especially if you live in the city and most of the country is far-left so it isn't changing anytime soon. It's just sad to see, I'm not racist I just want my own country and my own job but I guess that's asking too much :/

Great start. 64% decrease in foreign students is a huge cut and definitely needed. Middle class tax cut is a step in the right direction and the $10 NSF fee is actually a huge underrated change. I’ll admit I’ve been in the situation where I forgot which day my bill is coming out and didn’t have my bank account prepared accordingly. Getting slapped with $50+ NSF fees just made it even worse. Nice to see a cap on that now as I felt like companies were abusing it.

There are still companies who are only hiring LMIA even if a genuine Canadian Citizen or PR can do that job. Its completely insane I would love to see the Govt. To change the rules.

If we really see the forest for the trees... This is a worldwide agenda... To.. create a helplessness around the socio economic politics.. to even out the playing field of... Everyone.. & the lack of judicial reform.. to ensure Chaos.. & the eventual Militarized police officers... & The acceptance of law and...Dis. order..... . This really ruins it for the people who appreciate the opportunity for Canadian citizens who really do wish to be legitimate taxpayers & actually work....
... Just another example of how the government is utterly COMPLICIT in denigrating the Judicial SYSTEM... ...
.... This is not a Party Partisanship issue... . It is the.. weakening of our system as a whole...
... As we have seen... The demographics of crime... Is an extreme issue... Not to be taken lightly.... This is beyond sad... It is sheer Apathy.. of the Canadian government to... Protect against outside influences....
Perhaps we might consider that....
... Some people don't have a creed of .. Civil obedience...
Our laws must change... & Radically... As .. some are just given to the thoughts of... Scamming the system... & Trying to get away with.. whatever they can... We need actual... Teeth in our Judicial SYSTEM.. 😮...

The problem is immigration back in day was a luxury in India so only riches made it outside and they were rich compared to others after independence because they were more pro british and served them. So it was easy for them to immigrate and assimilate into your culture. Now you see many poor people also immigrating because immigration became more accessible, its just like the touchscreen phones, before only rich people had them, but later and now everyone has it. Plus your overly liberal and the stupid point system lets anyone enter the country if they meet a specific criteria, they barely check their english, background, crime record, etc.
Also, living in India is a survival, or a nightmare for short. Especially for the poor people in the up north, and so they go to these shady agents who claim that they can send him or her to Canada, UK, Australia where ever they want in exchange for some money. Sometimes these agents turnout to be scams and sometimes not, then these students apply to some fake university that has no campus in Canada and select a course thats easy. Then once approved they come to canada, don’t go to university and make some other indian friends who say they have contacts with some job providers and through that the students get their jobs at the fast food joints and shopping malls.
The mindset with which these students come to Canada is that I want to get a simple job as soon as I land in Canada and through that job I can get a PR. They never go to assimilate or discover the culture, they come because the country looks nice, has resources, and will provide them with a good salary so that they send some money back home to their parents as compared to low paying jobs in India, which too are super competitive. They still like the indian way of life, the culture, the food, the attire, just not in India. Thats why you’ll never see these students eating at anything other than a Indian Punjabi Restaurant or a fast food joint, they will never make white friends, they will never try to change the way they speak and look at Canadians, they will never try to change their driving habits.
In conclusion, more poor people and students migrating, paired with their mindset of “I want everything to be Indian just not in India but in a place that looks better” paired with their low interest in actually learning and working better jobs is what makes them a bad immigrant group. But thats not to say that all are like that its only some and mostly Punjabis/ other North Indians that have this mindset.
The reason why the Indian group in USA is much better and successful is because they are mostly of south indian descent. Those people are far more educated, actually respect the law of the land.
And fun fact: The stereotypical Indian Accent originated from USA mainly and reason why many indians say that they don’t speak in that accent is because that particular stereotypical accent is present in Indian people who come from the states of Andra Pradesh and Telegana, which is is where most of the Indians in USA are actually from. Sorry for the long ass comment and some writing mishaps, I really lose my writing quality when I’m writing long comments.

buncha racist people. "It took me a year to get a visa" and "Now they just jump the border and file for asylum". are these guys so shit at math that they don't understand statistics? do they genuinely think all immigrants from india are asylum seekers and nobody comes via visa, like are they that idiotic? do you see how these ppl immediately seek some kind of high ground? its disgusting to me
Indian people probably do bring a 100 problems with them, I won't argue on this. But then its the job of the ppl of the country to pressure their government to stop immigration by changing the immigration policy. There's no point in directing your racist resentment at a group of people for just following whats legally allowed

But saar white great race saar, we superior saar😂. But somehow we turned into homeless people in our own country saar😂 and the inferior race of Indians are now our bosses 😂. I guess this is the reason for racism, when u can't compete u hate. but I think u should be very grateful that the things which is changing is just language, food habits and clothes which are personal. U should look more eimto UK where u will be told what to wear, that u are a infidel. Won't even have a courage to protest or criticize their community.its only when the people see it that they know how much worse could it have been

Here's my life in canada.
denied work. Denied education.
both grandmothers, and grandfathers and before that mothers and fathers, defended and fought in the great wars, not by choice proxy and came to canada post ww1 to get away from euro trouble, only for second great war, and most were against forced to join because of direct proxy or relatives being killed.
Applied to walmart - denied work
applied ot im hortons - denied work
applied ot schoos, isntitutions , trade shops, and more, denied work..
When you income is below hte poverty line, and you spending large amounts of time seekngi for a job or working but denied life and work at the same time. It becomes fairly strange.
Denied education. Was sekeing ot be a general practioner, but I was cosntnaly called racist by black peopel that jsut arrived rrehsly. then there was CBC and asian gang relatiosn nad hte abuseo f minoirity acts. Then there was the nativism of evil colonizer. Then feminims eivl white male. THiese were being disturbuted or taught at courses by force. I stated I am just here for data. Since udner the acts of law which gives freedom, we are not ot be subjected to non facts, or idleaogical belief systems to be forcibly lived by only law to reality. So the neutrality of law is broken to a blief set of wrong doing.
I sought ot sue only for my tuition back ot apply to another instiute as denied, menaing I scaped nickles nad diem nsa ultiamtely could not afford or recieve a lawyers aid or help.
earnign so little and hte canada has the data. I am never offered charity or help.. its always cults importing token blakc random person or speaking about jews or natives that need something and htey clealry own a lot... WHihc is weird.
So... I am the offspring of women and men that build foundations of canada and institutes. I am an only male descdent. I am unamrried, u=no family. We don't seek ot breed like wild animals ot have like khan line. We odn't follow trending or mediated lies. Poeple accuseyou of somethign you look it up and you knwo their full of hsit. I have not once broke any laws of canada, but the church groups certianyl push hard ot change laws so they can kill peopel with the statemonopoly of violence perverting law. That aside.. From computer works to psyhcolgoy, to flying planes to geological and nuclear studying to life... So earning less then teh poverty line not by choice, but because society deems it more improtant ot .. as I was told once, Hire their friends, but hten they lie beucase they trend ot hire foiregners or the toke nblakc card mantra that as going on... Mean while perosns head on a bus is chopped off and they are out in a few months... I was denied work to places liek ecole, canem. plethora of commerical and private plumbing companies... I came ot be an actionable person to have an income make a family, do I not get those freedoms. I also udner law I can refuse any merchant item that includes all and any nuetoxins or mandates via nuremburg code and other laws... My rights in covid and other groups have violated my so called lawful rights as a citizens. Keep in mind post great war my grandfather taught at UofA and fought against state corruption and tyranny. also from descendent tree of lords, but most titles were given up or forcibly removed, and so living people went off into most aristiocratic works which was study of nature and applicaiton of systems and works and selling. Natural in peace you build tolenace, resistance and epxloration and cumilate money, but money has no value.
you can have 2k people sift hte saharaha deseert a reletively void place of mostly quartz. out of that 286 million cubic feet of sand, not evne silt sand. You cna get 1 million tonnes of gold... Not evne troy ounces... So the stupidity and cruelty ofsoicety is the denial of life in others that seem to choose spectacle and destructive tendencies that they are told to do and hten reinforce it. But logicallly. we are onyl told to od natural needs of society. not all the other lies...
ALl I see .. my kindness wains its naturally in me I suppose. but huamsn are capable of killing other humans when put into a means ot defend the self... So the convicing werid liars of capitalism... but hten commit ot capital abuse, IE lawless extension of it. To then communism that is against osiclaism if you read engles and marxs on their hatred and stating social nature of not modern. whatever that means. Communism is against ownership..
I have been judged, as a christian or relgiious... which is werid... because I chose not to drink alcohal... chose not to go to strip clubs or ever purchase a female. these are our daughtersand I expect actionable works and fucntion ot hte future, not epxloitation and deviation of values to a subset. I have written 5 milion words on youtube, trying ot therapy myself in a place I am denied so much... They offer power or glory through their means of contorls sex, a mark of acitonable means, like metla shit coin work... Nothing of ever truth or educaiton. So yo uget a collectivism of cruelty. If I knew humans werethis savage I suppose I should of had avarice drive in me, but I don't I only seek truth. and acitonable means of relation... what I get is . Your not normal. becuase i don't trend ot naartion of mediated arts and socila engineering nad werid soft method of reid psyhcolgoy. I like law.. I liek roman history.... I dislike judiac law and emsianic law.. although I have simlair values... its liek writing a book thought. we can all write about a blue sky, but both authors are not telling or in teh same story....
oh yeha I was denied banking / having a bank accoutn for two years. One can see it was freedom of my choice, but I was threatened while lareayd poor by the RBC employee chan guy... stating he cna charge me endless nsf, chages well and above nad beyond that ammount. I cam in and aruged hwile he yelled at me... and my concer was when will it stop 20k ? ? dollars. the ammout nto be charged was 120.. and you charged me 450 in services fees, NSF fees. so rightfully so.. so instead of being accpeted or able to operate or work in the system I am denied life.
Denied miltiary employee ment. .. applied several times.... denied work since it reuiqres suddenly all these extra certificates whihc used ot be jsut exist and hten can operate in it.. but stupid migrants need ot prove they can.. So I think huh, my grandfather aiding italy.. my other one aiding philipines in advances...

As an indian, I feel sad to see that this is Canada, nobody would want anyone's country to change like this. pls deport most of them, they can't even speak English. Only allow highly educated, skilled people; race doesn't matter, even that nurse guy should be deported. Don't allow any indian asylum seekers because India is poor, not as bad as a war-ridden country only allow doctors, engineers, and scientists, and businessmen with a master's degree, and don't allow Punjabi guys, they are less educated and quite erratic. Please check if they have any criminal history, and this applies to all immigrants who are not from Europe or Southeast Asia, etc You guys don't need indian truckers and janitors. pls don't be racist. Remember, 15% of all Canadian doctors are indian

Many very hardworking Indian immigrants willing to do difficult work. That is a virtue. I don't see why people are so resentful. Just because things changed too fast and it's scary for them. Very childish response with limited understanding. This kind of ignorance leads to prejudice.

I deal with truck drivers all day every day. 99% of the drivers are Indian. Seeing someone white is almost as rare as seeing a woman driving. Some are very nice. Some are very rude and entitled. I dont mind immigration. What I dont like is people thinking their still in India and attempting to change canadian values. We need to slow it down and vet people. Stop letting people pour in so you can stay in power. Liberals need to start caring about Canadians!

Brampton is a prime example of a failed immigration policy, no integration, complete enclave mentality. They are doing it all across Canada - my family is from Caledon just outside of Brampton and it has been incredibly sad to see how it has changed negatively over the years.

I live in Brampton. I'm a Punjabi, North Indian. These old farts just want to complain about nothing. They are happy as long as Punjabis are making samosas and working hard labour jobs but oh no no Indians can't be in the government even though they have been living in the Brampton and GTA area for generations they are overlooked as real citizens but now that things have changed social media pages and channels like this have been for the past 3-4 years spreading propaganda about Indians ruining Canada or some stupid shit like that.
This video is just highlighting how easy it is to make this divisive content. This is in similar lines to those Instagram reel pages that post every little mistake Indian people do and get recorded and shamed for it online. Other races do the same shit but those pages only post about Indians. Target a specific group, even though all races have people like that. Racism needs a target race, it's like a hate group that's now festering online. I don't see these racists outside, but I know they are there silently judging me sitting in a public place.
As for the amount of Immigrants, complain to your government. Actually try to make a change instead of being racist and divisive. This is not a solution, in fact it's the opposite of an actual solution that would work. All I see is Indian people especially in Brampton are hard workers that work 10+ hour shifts for minimum pay living paycheck to paycheck, and they are getting exploited by the companies that are Canadian but no one wants to talk about that, let's just complain about an ethnic group instead. Damn schizos.

As someone who comes from latin-america and has been travelling and touristing in Canada for the last 10 + years, and finally decided to take the step to immigrate to Canada through the front door, I can safely say you guys are losing your amazing country. My permit was not approved and you know what, I am not even mad. I see a lot of these people leeching off your government and for some reason they get preferential treatment over people like me who come to do things honestly, work, study, and adding to the country instead leeching from it. Like I said, I first came to Canada a little over 10 years ago, and I am telling you this country is changing for the worse. One thing I also noticed is how back then I always used to hear the memes of Canadians being nice and always saying "sorry". Those memes no longer exist. I know it doesn't say much, but what I am trying to say here is: The quality of the Canadian citizen is 100% decreasing.

Canadian that spent 16 years in Japan. I went as an individual. I stayed as an individual. Married a Japanese. Came back to Canada for a pension and can't wait to leave. I were in Japan and if I saw a group of Canadians arrive expecting Japan to change for them, I would have been severely pissed off with them. Every other country and normal immigrant that came as an individual or individual family probably thinks the same way I do. No one in any country likes to see "Mass Immigration" and even Japan these days are looking at an influx of half a million Indians and who knows how many more Africans. This will change Japan and they'll turn a good culture into their shitty culture and I'm not happy with that. I liked being one of few. Yes I had American, Canadian, Australian, Kiwi and British friends as well as Japanese friends. But we were all individuals that adopted the way of living in Japan into our everyday lives. If I go back, I don't want to be in india. It'd be like living in Brampton. What pisses me most is the attitude of that muslim guy. Yes you are out breeding us but not all majorities rule. In Malaysia, Malays rule despite being the smaller population. They have more Chinese and Indians there but they have to live under the rule of the native Malays. So you will have to do the same in Canada despite if your population is larger. You adapt to this country. The country doesn't convert to accomodate you. Individuals are key. Groups are the bane of all countries.

I was born and raised in Brampton (but of South Asian descent via the Caribbean) and it pains me to see how the city has changed over the past 20 years. I was raised to be a proud Canadian and to be grateful for the opportunities that this country has afforded my family and I. I am a Canadian first, and Guyanese/Indian second.
The issue I have with the city is that you have enclaves of ethnically homogenous people who refuse to assimilate - I once went into a Tim Hortons at Peter Robertson and Dixie, and was laughed at by the cashiers because I could not speak Hindi/Punjabi (despite being brown). There is nothing wrong with immigration - it makes the country stronger. HOWEVER, that only happens if the immigrants work to collectively advance the interests of the country and accept the rules/societal norms of the country they now call home. Instead, they find ways to circumvent/exploit the system - they are less interested on making society better, and more interested in individual advancement.
I live in Professors Lake, which historically was one of the more affluent areas of the city. Now, there are several houses on my street that have essentially become boarding houses, divided into units of four with 10+ people living inside. I fully understand why white Canadians are feeling displaced, and it pains me that anti-immigrant sentiment has soured the way people look at me (despite being born in Canada).

As a brown person who migrated to Ireland, i can tell you i haven't met, spoken to or hung out with any of the people from my birth country in years. Why? Because, my Irish school mates, my Irish neighbours & Irish colleagues have never made me feel insecure about my color or origins. However in the last five years, some communities like the pakistanis, brazilians & nigerians started creating their ghettos despite the fact that the Irish did not discriminate. They "rule" their ghettos as if they're sovereign territories and do not interact with the Irish, who loves a good banter & socializing. Now the Irish are feeling insecure & one can feel, hear & see the change in attitudes towards immigrants. I fear that in the future i may face the consequences of some other people's decision to stand out instead of mixing. It is quite sad actually!

I've lived in Brampton for 26 years and see it change. I think you completely missed highlighting K-extremism through this video. The same people are involved in most of the crime too.

I came here 25 years ago from India. While growing up, I would go to the terrace of my home and turn the antenna to get Cbc at night. I watched Air Farce One, the green show, NFB and Cbc and was always fascinated with Canada. I knew then when I was 20 that I will make Canada home. I wrote my IELTS ENGLISH test, studied here with good grades. And I did. I have an amazing career and young kids. And I have loved everyday of it. I have watched rerun of trailer park boys about 10 or so times already, watched Corner gas, watch hockey, I have embraced the weather, the people and the values this nation stands for. I have travelled coast to coast and to the great north. Heck I have been to more places in Canada with my job than other Canadians who are born and raised here.
Now all I see there these ignorant, entitled effs thinking they can come and change the way of life. Like how Don Cherry said, they want the milk and honey but won't respect the values. I am effing done with this immigration and the government.
Steven Harper was the prime minister when I got my citizenship and it was the proudest moment of my life.
I really hope Canadians wake up. I know exactly why the racism has gone up and I don't blame the Canadians at all. These clowns bought it on to themselves. I just had enough and wish things would back to how it was 20 or so years ago.

Dear everyone,
Culture is a constantly changing phenomenon. If you had visited Canada 500 years ago, you would have seen Indigenous tribes living on this land with their own cultural values. Two hundred years ago, European culture became more prominent, but it was still a very different place from what we see today. Family values were strong, and who your family was often determined much of your future.
Now, Canadian culture is changing once again. The arrival of Indian immigrants will inevitably influence Canadian culture, whether people like it or not. Some may try to resist—perhaps through a kind of “Trumpism”—but that will only provide temporary comfort. In the long run, Canadian culture will continue to evolve with the influx of newcomers. Today it is Indians; in the coming decades, it may be another nationality.
The key point is to embrace change—and perhaps change ourselves in the process. For example, the rise in homelessness is tied more to social and economic issues than to immigration. Family structures among white Canadians are becoming less central in people’s lives, and religion is also losing influence. Parenting values are often shaped by fleeting psychology trends and “helicopter parenting,” leaving many children without the strong foundation they need.
Perhaps there is something to learn from Indian immigrants about building families, fostering strong connections, and strengthening community ties.
Thank you.

Grew up in Brampton from age 5-10, half a decade of being a kid in such an open suburb area. Many neighbourhoods now we're farmlands and empty lots. The Indian population was just starting to boom, as I thought would all other ethnicities. Regardless of the changes of demographics, Brampton is still such a beautiful city, just taken over by overpopulation at a fast pace. We do not complain, but as a Country we should consider the rate of growth as a positive but also has many negatives. Finding jobs in Brampton is nearly impossible as a young adult - and also looking for new homes with landlords that aren't of Indian descent is becoming a rare occurrence. Changes can be made to benefit both Canadians and Indians as we are known for accepting all cultures, that is what I love about Canada. It is a sight to see when you witness the Indian culture in Brampton, lets not take that away!

They can't see how changing Canada into India is upsetting to Canadians. At the end of the day, it's the government's fault and the people for allowing this to happen. Cananda shouldn't look like your hometown in India, it should look like Canada. End this madness.

You know, Brampton even before trudeau was becoming basically little India, and most Canadians just said whatever let them have it, we kinda accepted it. But after trudeau with mass immigration and them taking over other cities its when it became a little too much and started to take over canadian culture. I had a friend visit from the u.s for the very first time, and we did some sight seeing, you know going to places around ontario that tourists would check out, went to niagra falls for the first time in maybe 10 years man it changed. It was 90% Indian people. She noticed it right away but didnt say anything, i said a lot of indians huh? and she said yeah didnt think canada was like this. When you think Canada its always been mulicultural, you just think of all ethnicities and people of different cultures but at the end of the day everyone was Canadian and they assimilated. Now you dont think of a multicultural country you think of an indian country thats changing the canadian culture and way of life and not in a good way. Identity is being taken away and it needs to stop. Canada needs to take notes from Poland before its too late. Poland closed their doors and guess what? economy went up, crime rate went down, people are happier. Canada opened the doors, crime rate shot up, economy crashing, more homelessness then ever and so on. Not saying its specifically Indian people, its the amount coming in and how they adopt canadian culture but instead bring their culture and trye changing the country to fit them rather then fitting in with an already established country and culture.

I wouldn't like immigration to my country too and seing my way of life change...but we should give credit to the Sikhs who feed people free of charge...i experienced their generosity way back in 2005 in London when my friend took me along to a gurdwara,my first time . They don't ask any questions, they just feed and you will see people volunteering their services at preparing the food and someone else serving you...at least, they give back to society unlike some of the filthy rich who just want to hoard more and give nothing back . People don't realize that the world revolves on kind people and their generosity. If everyone was greedy, there would be nothing else to hoard and you can't even take it with you when your life ends. I guess it's just a matter of perspectives and your life experiences !

it's easier for European immigrants to assimilate because their culture is similiar! if you want to see white folks not assimilating just go to Asia and you'll see white folks who have lived there for 10-15 years and not even speak the local language! They change certain neighborhoods to "expat" neighborhoods with their bars and clubs and all that western garbage! This is not that different! If Indians immigrated to a south Asian country they would have no problem assimilating! These European immigrants of the olden days talk about their assimilation in to Canada as if they were assimilating into an entirely new culture. Please self reflect!
