The elephant in the room is the fact that the majority of immigrants come from one country. As someone who proudly escaped Canada I understand the difficulties of adapting and integrating into another culture. It is difficult and it would be far easier if there were just so many Canadians here that none of us have to adapt or learn a new language but could simply live in an insular community of Canadians and transplant our own culture here. When I go back to Canada I see that that is exactly what has happened there.

Most immigrants struggle to build a life in Canada due to expensive housing (renting or ownership). Canada was also accepting too many professional immigrants (engineering, business, consulting, IT, accounting) when we desperately need trades, construction workers and mechanics. My parents immigrated in the early 90s and I was born in Canada. It’s very hard to relate to the new immigrants in the last 10 years because we’re so different. The families that immigrated in the 80s and 90s had to assimilate and become “Canadian” which in hindsight was for the best. I learned about my culture and language at home, but my parents, emphasized the importance of being “Canadian first” and being a part of society and “fitting in.” This wasn’t at all a bad thing. I learned to ski, skate, make ice lollies with snow and syrup, went camping, played sports… I feel embarrassed when Indians are looked at in this light, but its true. 90% of this new wave of immigrants on “student visas,” dont intend to actually obtain any sort of an education, instead they use it as a pathway for permanent residency. I know this because I have relatives who say this out loud behind closed doors. I don’t agree with any of it, and quite frankly it’s very embarrassing, but most of us first generation Indian Canadians feel very upset about how its all played out and the negative light in which our people are now viewed under. Personally, I agree they arent interested in becoming culturally Canadian, they just want to be in Canada for financial reasons. How about letting immigrants coming into the country that if they commit a crime they will be deported and be banned for 10 years. That would be a great deterrent to those that don't want to properly integrate into our society.

It's for all people that immigrate to our country. I agree, I think if people come to my country, they need to assimilate. Learn our languages, understand our culture and integrate. I feel that they need to create another sector to follow up on visas, check in on people, monitor. I also feel the banks need to monitor the amount of money people are sending back home, I understand some money. But not everything.

Because Canadian politicians are, like in essentially every country, in bed with the wealth class so they green lit a wildly retarded immigration policy to flood Canada with cheap labour and suppress wages. Bro I'm Punjabi and I'm born in Brampton. Many people in my generation are integrated and we do more "Canadian" things that "Punjabi" things. People scapegoat Brampton and immigrants for the government failing to build and honour housing or infrastructure for the last 30 years. Here is a aggressively neutral take as a Canadian elementary school teacher in an area with an extremely high Indian population (around half our school is ethnically Indian). It is also my own opinion, and some opinions on the internet suck: The good: Cultural integration IS possible (the Indian families are more into hockey than the white families where I live), tons of cross-cultural friendships, beautiful blend of cultural celebrations, top achievers are almost always second-generation immigrants, kids are growing up to love their parents' culture while also loving Canada's, many fantastic families who engage their children well and raise them very respectfully, religious temples that will feed an amazing meal to ANYBODY who walks into them (as long as you cover your hair), low rates of family trauma (drugs, abuse, divorce, etc.), families that take care of their elders The rough: Not all families are interested in being Canadian (some families just send their kids to Indian speaking private schools, live in Indian areas, and only seem to practice Indian ways of life - what's even the point?), many Indian families retreated into their home-lives during Covid which removed their children from integration opportunities, a very small percentage of the families are absolutely TERRIBLE at parenting and treat their sons and daughters with different levels of respect, multi-family households pay a single property tax which makes the contribution per taxpayer much smaller (while social benefits are equal to anybody else), some crime such as extortion and gang activity has been imported into the country, some individuals' disregard for rules and laws (setting fireworks on Diwali in the middle of a dry, grassy field is just plain stupid), some Indian communities seem to vote blindly for their own ilk during local elections without any regard for policy or experience, LMIA immigration program has been corrupted by the nepotism of bad actors and the greed of large corporations (wages can be federally subsidized which makes it cheaper to hire immigrants than the 16 year old down the street). Many of these families were simply making good choices for their own family, so don't blame the people themselves for this - blame the government that allowed it to fester unsustainably. It’s good to hear some are thinking of leaving to the US. I truly wish for their success. I worked at a college that became a diploma mill in Vancouver and you couldn’t go to the men’s room without seeing 3 or 4 dudes hanging out. Foreign students also take from the food banks enough to have 1st year students now banned and many people no longer donate. I generally have great experiences Indian people, and have travelled India extensively, but if you let in too many of one type the native population will have a hard time and the immigrants themselves won’t integrate and build their own society. I lived in Brampton for 25 years, so I would like to weigh in. We definitely have an extremely large indian population here. There are a lot of upsides and downsides to that. Some of my best friends are Indian immigrants, some of the people I hate the most are also indian immigrants. With any large group of people, you will always have examples of exceptionally nice people, but also horrible people. Something I noticed a lot recently is that newer immigrants are a lot less interested in learning about Canadian culture, norms, and integration. A lot of my longtime indian friends learnt the Canadian culture, Canadian norms, and wish to work with Canadians. They celebrate christmas, are respectful and polite, and are otherwise outstanding Canadian Citizens. A lot of the newer problems in Brampton can make it unattractive for others. Lots of loud music blaring, street racing waking you up at 4am in the morning, fireworks at 3am for no apparent reason, etc.

They can find whatever community resources (financial, legal, medical, et al) without having to step outside the community. They have been able to "replicate" India in their Host country. I think what local Canadians may resent so much is the new Competition for whatever low - wage labour and community resources are left over post Pandemic. Also, if one listens closely (Euro) Canadians) resent the imposition of Old Country religious / group cultural practices have "overflowed" into the public Commons rather than kept private. The unspoken "demand" that Locals get use to these cultural differences / just suck it up causes some rancor.

I was in UK for 4 years and the reason I came back to India is there are just so many immigrants that locals their have developed an anti immigrants sentiment . You don't want to live in a place just for a bit more money where you don't feel you belong. I believe people should be free to go and work in any country but through legal channels and respect that country's culture and try to integrate

Frankly, I don’t blame the Indian people. Most of them seek better opportunities and stability, and their decision to migrate is often driven by economic hardships, political instability, or a lack of educational resources in their homeland. Why would they not accept coming here if they see potential for a brighter future ? Furthermore, they don’t have pathways to citizenship offered by the government; there are no well-defined courses or integration programs designed to help newcomers become fully part of the society. Instead, they are arriving in basically what is a new India. They are welcome with open arms and new rights as Canadians, without the responsibilities that SHOULD go with it. So, the entire culprit is our Canadian government. This situation is part of a much larger, global agenda aimed at sowing division among populations to weaken national unity. The phrase _Divide et Impera_ (Divide and Conquer) highlights this tactic. The Canadian government is orchestrating this strategy, intentionally aligned with the nefarious 2030 agenda. This agenda calls to flood the White Christian Western world with massive immigration, which will erode cultural and national identities. The ultimate goal is to strip nations of their cultural and historical identities, making their populations more dependent on the State to provide a new identity. This dependency is projected to lead to the implementation of digital identification systems, biometric tracking, and other dystopian technological measures. These politicians on both sides are NOT humanists. The overarching aim is not merely human advancement but transhumanism — merging humans with technology — which is pure evil, even demonic, a plan to transform human existence radically. A plot to erase humanity as we know it. This is also the real reason and rationale behind the trans agenda. You can be whatever you want if you identify with it. Brampton is a prime example of a failed immigration policy, no integration, complete enclave mentality. They are doing it all across Canada - my family is from Caledon just outside of Brampton and it has been incredibly sad to see how it has changed negatively over the years.

I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

Immigrants aren't the problem. The problem is when they don't integrate or adopt local customs, when they form ghettos. That's not immigration, it's invasion. If you choose to live in another nation, out of respect and gratitude to the nation that welcomed you, you must integrate, be part of, assimilate—without losing your roots, of course, but adapting. I am from a country of immigrants (Argentina). My ancestors were Spanish (Galician/Catalan), Italian, German-Jewish, and Polish, and they all assimilated, adopting Spanish-language and Argentine customs without losing their roots.

I am a college student in the southeastern us in a small town. We have many many many nepalis coming and using it as a springboard to emigrate (usually illegally) across the us. They do not speak our language, integrate, work, or understand our customs. Not integration, no immigration.

I’m 49 years old and grew up in the UK. I was always proud of our multiculturalism growing up about 1/5 of the classrooms were of another country/race. Everyone loved the immigrants they came in worked hard and didn’t cause trouble, most importantly they intergrated. But something changed with this new wave of immigration. They don’t integrate, they don’t work, they want to cha ge the country and religion. They don’t seem to even like Brit’s 😂. It’s a sad situation. Govt has clearly done this on purpose so the natives have to fight for scraps by bringing in desperate people

I thought it was interesting how you point out Trudeau's policy changes, but don't point out the prior PM(Harper) removing the 6 week vetting period on TFW's and other anti-labour moves that also vastly increased immigration. Despite the government not properly integrating people or providing services for our own countrymen, this immigration has also staved off demographic collapse by several decades.

Having Justin Trudeau occupy the Top Job in Canada as PM was a mistake. Making him PM given his limited intellectual abilities didn't do Canada any favors really. His woke ideals simply aren't based in the realities in thinking that we'll all just get along. The past immigration policies filtered out those that weren't acceptable or weren't bringing anything worthwhile to Canada. What Trudeau did was allow third world countries to unload their undesirable citizens into Canada, ppl that have no idea of what it means to come to a new land and integrate and be a part of something good. Trudeau did not think this through at all.

FFS they literally founded non existent colleges to exploit the bridge loopholes from a faux student visa to a faux job which gets them to a PR status because the immigration offices are not doing their jobs. We've been flodded with fake students for years now. And for the record I am not against student visas and legal and appropriate immigration. Far from it. I appreciate every person, whether from India or somewhere esle, that is in Canada legally and with intention to integrate and contribute.
