However we will continue on that course and we will continue to fail. The Cato Institute was initially funded by the Koch brothers a extremely conservative organization that gets together a group of the brightest and the best in trying to determine what is the best solution.the Koch brothers were the group that invented the tea party I would love for anybody who disagrees with this post. I would like anybody who thinks that this is a far-fetched idea ,all I ask is that if you disagree with the finding that it should be legal with age restrictions if you disagree I would like to hear a solution that you have in mind that you think is better than the Cato Institute finding. I am under the impression that you do not have anything that remotely resembles a solution to this terrible problem. Hi everyone, I'm just going to weigh in some experience here. These people have given up on their government to fix things. They had it good before when Venezuela was wealthy not so long ago. They want that back. Who wouldn't. They want a chance at a better life . They have in most cases already sold all possessions for traveling money and bribes or security. They are scared and tired of traveling. They got told to come to America by someone. I wish we could afford as a country to take them all and it be ok and they build a good life here. I wish it was like that. The system we have needs work for certain. The USA is being overwhelmed by too many coming. We have to slow the roll . But it's a bad situation for all involved. They will look for an illegal way if needed to make it. Hence the cartels step in and offer a way in exchange for money or drug smuggling and the trouble gets worse. There is no simple solution here. Rough on everyone.

It is a global issue. I’m for legal immigration of all levels but the US cannot manage these astronomical numbers. It’s a huge unbalanced burden in inner cities where locals need help but don’t get what just illegally crossing gets you and your kids. It’s taking from the already have nots. As a fully disabled Army veteran who was raised by the southern border in New Mexico, who has seen first hand what the cartels are capable of, I have been saying this was going to happen for a long while now. The cartels have already expanded their operations and even the head of the DEA confirmed this, they are in every major US city. They have been growing like this since the first day Biden took office, and Tommy G's interview with one of the coyotes confirmed this months ago. As a Canadian there looks like some great places to visit in the USA but i would never move to the US. The biggest issue in the US is Gun violence, there attachment to guns. Number two is health care, number three is weather volatility and more adverse weather conditions. Instead of one main government the US seems to have two which prevents any real change for the better. Money controls more government and political decisions than even in Canada which is already bad enough. The NRA controls more government and policing. They are seen as the bigger risk to American safety and security. I believe many Canadians believe the NRA are on the cusp of being the largest domestic terrorist organization and closure to a major cartel. Not even the military could control the NRA if the US decided to enforce new laws that the NRA felt would effect their financial, political or perceived control in the US. This is a big reason Canadians may not want to move to the US. To think there is a private military ready to go to war against their own people in the drop of a hat, reminding North Americans of the war between the North and South. There are beautiful places to see in the US, there are hard working and brave people in the US and i am sure there are more good people than bad but those with power, control and weapons have the great degree of balance. The US has a lot to be proud of and still so much possibility and ability to grow if it were not for those with the majority of power that is not being used for good or in the best interest of the majority of US citizens. Love the architecture and old districts and those trying to preserve the environment, farms, seed diversity and best of what made the US great.

I support legal immigration. I value the hard-working people in my country who immigrated legally. Hard working honest taxpaying citizens. Complete and total insanity .These people will never leave this country. Some probably do need asylum, but the majority of them are working the system. Regardless people should be filing for asylum in their own country, and should only come to our border when there turn in line comes up. No easy fix, but letting people in with catch and release as the policy, with a court date more than 10 years down the road, is not a way to do it. Not to mention, there’s a lot of aliens, that did it the right way, and all of these illegal aliens are taking cuts. Our border is in complete and total shambles. CNN please please please have somebody down at the southern border every day, at different points of entry, and report on that. There is operational control at the border, but it’s by the cartels not the US government. I live in a border state, I have watched this my whole life. I have never seen it like it is right now. It is insanity. It’s a straight up invasion.. it’s hard to imagine unless you see it first hand. Which I do..

Ha if you had $15.000 for a lawyer then you didnt need refugee status. You already had money that would have lasted a long time in Mexico or El salvadore. Same goes for any illegal who spent THOUSANDS to the cartels to help them cross illegally into any country for that matter.
