If Canada is such a great friend of the US, then why have they not paid their NATO bill or manned their borders? This is not anti-American, it is just fighting back from an unnecessary trade war. It does however break my heart because many Canadians have family on the U.S. side. I know it would also break my father’s heart as he grew up in New England and had a lifetime affection for the U.S. I despise politics and have not been a proud Canadian for a few years but I have to admit that this speech is getting me going again. Canada needs to get its act together and rebuild its military, not to fend off the U.S. but to hold its own should other countries decide we are ripe for the picking. As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company.
