Not usually a fan of Trudeau, but he’s 100% right on this one

As a Canadian, I am not a fan of Mr. Trudeau. But this speech is really impressive.

It would have been better to call the move “ill-advised”. Referring to POTUS by first name and saying it was “dumb” is just going to provoke DJT who everyone, fans and critics alike, knows is vain and does not have the humility to accept insults. It’s Trudeau breaking shtuff on his way out. He doesn’t have the mandate to put us in a worse position; he is being selfish, I think, in taking an unnecessary low-brow jab. Calling it ill-advised or similar gives Trump an out, to pass the buck to Lutnik when it becomes apparent that this tariff idea is a steaming pile for everyone involved.

I have not always been a fan of Trudeau, but I have to give it to him today. You spoke with care, adressing the issues and standing up for Canada amidst this hard time. You deserve a standing ovation. Thank you Justin. I am a proud Newfoundlander, but also Proud Canadian. Hoping that hopefully Trump will choose to work with us not against us. All of us on this continent need to work as one, helping all our neighbors.

I wasn’t a fan of Trudeau before, but I’ve got to give him credit—he’s really stepping up for his country now. Firm, reasonable, no BS. Gotta respect that.

Don't be fooled by this wimp my American friends. Trudeau is a weasel and has killed Canada. I'm not a fan of Trump but he still has seen thru this bum and we deserve what we're getting because of his neglect and Woke policies for the last 10 years. he's as corrupt as a politician can get. So please wait til we get a leader in Canada that will get us back to a REAL partner with the US. An election is gonna happen real soon that will put a Prime Minister in place that will address the concerns of both of our countries and get things back to normal.....and it won't be Mark Carney!!!!!

Oh, my goodness, it's so refreshing to hear a country leader speak a coherent sentence, a coherent thought structure, zero vanity tripping, berating opponents, finger-wagging, screeching accusations, tantrums. And then in a second language!!! Just because I'm not one of HIS fans, I am however a massive fan of Canada. I support Canada in this situation 100%. A trade war IS dumb, and even dumber with your closest ally and neighbor. Dumb and Dumber all in one go.... wowzah....so much winning?.

I’m Canadian. My family have always been Liberals but I’m not much of a Trudeau fan myself. For today, it doesn’t matter whether you like the man or not, Trudeau deserves a standing ovation for his speech and the actions he is taking. That’s what a leader of a country should sound like and react like. It’s going to be a tough road ahead for us but together we will pull through this. Stay strong my fellow Canadians, we got this. ❤

PM Trudeau is an example to follow and surely makes all Canadians proud for his reply to Donald Trump. I am European but also a big fan of the US; it is such a shame to see the light of the democracy fading away in a country which was once considered as one of the most consolidated world democracy. I'm no fan of Trudeau but... Compare this to Trump it's night and day. He looks young and healthy, talks eloquently and is intelligent. But Americans rather prefer an 80 year old obese criminal who paints his face orange and knows like 50 words. It would be funny if this didn't have horrible consequences for the whole world.

I was never a fan of Trudeau, but compared to Trump he is a breath of fresh air. Give it 3 years and 10 months and Americans will be back to sanity. Don't know if America will be in one piece though. After the three stooges have fired everyone, and taken away their social security, and our soldiers dying for no reason against our allies, and the VA system disbanded from helping past soldiers who made sacrifices for this country, while the dollar has lost most of its value, while inflation is through the roof....yes it will be tough. I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war. Canada has become a pure Cradic nightmare, like the previous administration in the United States were overtaxed over regulated and spend money like drunken sailors on stupid things that don’t help us grow and prosper.

I come from a long line of Canadian’s, I’m not a fan of Trudeau but I have to say he made me proud today standing up to the school yard bully. I know most Americans don’t support what Trump is doing because as Canadian and Americans we are decent hard working people who don’t need a government that doesn’t speak for the people God bless us all the world needs to find a way for peace our children and grandchildren deserve better.
