I am Chinese, i stand with Prime Minister Trudeau and Canadian people, there is no winner from trade war

I do not agree with the idea that there will be no winners in this war. The side with a trade surplus between the two countries and the countries that are somehow outside of these trade wars will emerge victorious from this war.

Very straightforward condemnation against the Trump administration on these tariffs. Trump is looking for trouble at the expense of the citizens without thinking about the welfare of the people. Trump wants to bankrupt Canada because it has ample resources and Trump wants Canada to be the 51st state. It is quite impossible to bankrupt Canada because it can always expand its international trade to other countries, like Europe, etc. Do not tolerate the bully. I certainly hope it doesn’t seem as though all Americans agree with what Trump is doing because many of us certainly do not. He doesn’t understand what the word diplomacy means unfortunately. With inflation rates rising, a trade war is one of the worst possible scenarios, and I agree with the Prime Minister. There are no winners here. Everyone gets hurt.

Interesting that I learned lately that in 1812 the brits burned down the white house. Those Brits settled to become Canadians. There were no winners in that war. It started over trade issues.

I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post...
