The immigration minister has a clear conflict of interest....given that her family is one of the east coast's largest landlords.....AND THAT'S WHY SHE SWUNG THE DOORS OPEN TO MASS IMMIGRATION, THE TFW PROGRAM AND TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS! She, like many others in our corrupt liberal gov't.....ARE FILLING THEIR OWN POCKETS while Canada's identity and culture are destroyed. SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED FOR SELFISH SELF-INTEREST, CORRUPTION AND TREASON!

When I lived in SW PA, we saw more and more convenience stores being run by Indians. I went into a 7-11 once, and there was what looked like a family in the office, and when the guy that worked there was serving me, I asked him, why don't I ever see any Americans working there? He said, because Americans are lazy, and especially the black ones. He said Americans always want days off. Days off because you're sick, or days off because it's a holiday, days off for everything. They don't want to work. This is all because of Clinton. He made a deal where Indians could come to the US, and they were given money to "start" a company. The idea was, they would BUILD a company, and hire Americans to work it. Instead, they bought stores and motels and used those to import their family and friends from India to here, for work. When I went back to school, I had no choice but to work at a gas station. I was off on payday once, and went in to get my check. There was a new guy at the counter, an Indian. I asked for my check, and wanted him to cash it for me. We always did that if there was enough money in the register. He told me to move, customers waiting. He didn't speak English very well. I went to the office to see the work schedule, and he yelled at me to get out of there! I told him what I was doing, he said "You work no!! I work! You boss no own, my boss own! Leave now! After a little more back and forth yelling, I found out my boss sold the gas station the night before and we were all out of a job. I blew up in front of all the customers! They started to walk out. Lol. That station didn't even last a year, and they had to close down. If they had a drive off (back in the days of a pump and run) they would call the police, but couldn't speak English very well. So they would tell police robbery! After a few times of that, the police told them to never call again. This was a very small town in SW PA, and word got around, and no one went to that station any more. This is the same area that was featured in Tyler's and others videos about all the Haitians that were shipped in by Biden. Bell Vernon PA, right across the river from Charleroi PA. The area is still FULL of Haitians, scaring all the native people away. Taking over the Walmart that is right across the street from where this gas station used to be. One of the many reasons I live in TX now.

As a non Indian Canadian born and raised I’m disgusted where my country has gone. Our population has doubled since 1980, not by birth rate, but because of the amount of Indians that have immigrated here. Unfortunately, they have no desire to assimilate, they bring their own culture and they stay in their own communities. The government offers tax breaks for businesses, hiring foreign workers over people born in Canada, leaving the youth without any part-time work. On top of that some of my favourite restaurants growing up, I haven’t eaten at in years because it’s been taken over by Indians, the quality of food goes down, you end up getting food poisoning and if you aren’t in their community, you get worse service and get charged more than what an Indian would pay at the same restaurant. They don’t understand cleanliness or sanitation, they leave their garbage and waste on the street and dump it in random locations, and quite frankly have no respect for anyone who lives here or the country that has taken them in. I feel like a minority of my own country and I truly don’t understand what being Canadian means anymore because I’m pretty sure being Canadian is a thing of the past. Most of my friends have moved further north, to Vancouver island or moved out to the prairies to get away from them and higher prices as everything gets more expensive, thanks to our government, caring more about immigrants than citizens. When a family gets accepted to come here they bring their parents their aunts and uncles their brothers and sisters on temporary visas, they also collect social assistance as soon as they arrive and when their visas expire, they have no desire to go back, which has resulted in thousands of illegals remaining here. I mean I get it. Why would you go back when you’re getting treated better here and are given food, housing and an allowance every month but it’s gotten to a point where India outnumbers Canadians. I want them all sent back.

i am an indian who has never left his country and it makes me sad that my countrymen are ruining other countries as well. if you can't speak english, you have no right to stay there, as simple as that, and it is strange how Canada is ruined by Punjabis, sikh terrorists in particular, as you can see all these are Punjabi sikh families, yet the hate is given to Indians and specifically to Hindus. I am not defending HINDUS here; there have been incidents where HINDUS have done things worthy of backlash, and they should be deported as well for their absolute religious stupidity, but why target only a specific religion and not the one that has done much worse, like literally being involved in criminal activities and notorious for it not only in Canada but in India as well? Exploited every policy and turned a Canadian city into its own home state city, and then felt proud of it in Indian podcasts: "yeah, Brampton feels like Punjab only."🤡 says a glorified ignorant Punjabi singer.

Here's my life in canada. denied work. Denied education. both grandmothers, and grandfathers and before that mothers and fathers, defended and fought in the great wars, not by choice proxy and came to canada post ww1 to get away from euro trouble, only for second great war, and most were against forced to join because of direct proxy or relatives being killed. Then there was the nativism of evil colonizer. Then feminims eivl white male. THiese were being disturbuted or taught at courses by force. I stated I am just here for data. Since udner the acts of law which gives freedom, we are not ot be subjected to non facts, or idleaogical belief systems to be forcibly lived by only law to reality. So the neutrality of law is broken to a blief set of wrong doing. I sought ot sue only for my tuition back ot apply to another instiute as denied, menaing I scaped nickles nad diem nsa ultiamtely could not afford or recieve a lawyers aid or help. earnign so little and hte canada has the data. I came ot be an actionable person to have an income make a family, do I not get those freedoms. I also udner law I can refuse any merchant item that includes all and any nuetoxins or mandates via nuremburg code and other laws... My rights in covid and other groups have violated my so called lawful rights as a citizens. Keep in mind post great war my grandfather taught at UofA and fought against state corruption and tyranny. also from descendent tree of lords, but most titles were given up or forcibly removed, and so living people went off into most aristiocratic works which was study of nature and applicaiton of systems and works and selling. I cam in and aruged hwile he yelled at me... and my concer was when will it stop 20k ? ? dollars. the ammout nto be charged was 120.. and you charged me 450 in services fees, NSF fees. so rightfully so.. so instead of being accpeted or able to operate or work in the system I am denied life. Denied miltiary employee ment. .. applied several times.... denied work since it reuiqres suddenly all these extra certificates whihc used ot be jsut exist and hten can operate in it.. but stupid migrants need ot prove they can.. Just wanna say, cause I don't think its said enough, I commend the journalistic integrity that you started out with and maintain throughout your work. Thank you for your commitment to hearing many sides of the story. My brother is a journalist in NYC and he also amplifies voices that are so often drowned out by louder, flashier ones. As a Canadian, who was born in South Africa, but have grown up in BC since elementary school, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity this country has given my family. We all work hard to build on the values shared in this nation. I love learning about aspects of Canada that I am unfamiliar with, but ultimately help shape its identity. 🙏

The real problem is not just people, it’s the Canadian immigration system and the loopholes IRCC has left wide open. In Punjab and other parts of India, wealthy families are arranging marriages where a girl with IELTS comes to Canada, then calls her husband here. Many of these are nothing more than contract marriages, where once the boy arrives, they go their separate ways. This is blatant abuse of the system and has created a wave of people entering Canada without even basic English skills. IRCC needs to wake up and fix this. Students on study or work visas must not be allowed to bring their spouses. If someone wants to come, let them take an English test themselves and prove they’re qualified. Study permits should only be issued for genuine university students, not random private colleges being used as back doors into the country. On top of that, no work permits should be given while on a study visa. Employers who hire students illegally on cash as cheap labour should face strict penalties, heavy fines, and blacklisting. Until these loopholes are closed, Canada’s immigration system will continue to be exploited and lose credibility. IRCC, this is not immigration — this is fraud facilitated by weak laws.

The old Dutch guy in the interview was right. When my father applied to bring us to Canada, we went through many tests and procedures, police checks from back home, and even from the FBI to prove we had never been to North America and the process lasted almost a year and a half. No money was given to our family, my dad was working our step mother was working; but now all these immigrants get in quick and free. I have a friend that works for a bank and he tells me people who can't even speak English or French show up and deposit government cheques for 30 or 40 thousand dollars. What about Canadians born and raised here, some need help, they don't get big cheques. There has to be a stop to all this influx of people coming from other countries who have it really easy once they're here, thanks to the government. I'm not anti-immigration, as I'm an immigrant myself, but this BS has to stop.

My family immigrated during the war, my grandmother came here after escaping a concentration camp when she was a little girl, her and my mother taught me to appreciate what we have, because it was worked hard for, they worked hard to make a living and a future for their families, they were given money by family that was here and paid back every, single, cent, it wasn't just given to them for free by the government while the rest of the people here suffer, so many of the people are brought here and given everything, it's like people have never heard the phrase "Give a man to fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life." the problem is that they keep giving them fish, so now they expect it so much they damn near demand it... it sickens me. I'm a student right now, 15 years ago it felt like I lived in my home, proudly in Canada, with all kinds of people... now, I go to class, and I feel like I live on a different planet, everyone looks the same, with a hint of variety... American complain that they don't see White people much anymore, I complain because I only see ONE type of person now... nobody else...

May I say as a Metis. My family were and are the first people to be described as Canadian and are still acknowledged as the original Canadians. My great Uncles and Aunts fought the British North West Mounted Police at Batoche because the British Colonizers after outlawing fur trade except through the HBC company were further insulted by having their ancestral land sectioned off and given to immigrants. My uncles also were part of the first battle at Seven Oaks when surveyors were surveying and measuring my ancestral cousins land. The British Immigrants were described as the preferred immigrants. TheNorth American Indians, the Metis were described as undesirables and in a memo written to the Indian Affairs Minister during John A MacDonald asking him how best to remove the undesirables Metis from their land. The Metis were not placed on reservations because we never stopped fighting for our homeland rights. What is happening now is a continuation of what happened back when John A MacDonald was Prime Minister. May I also say if these migrates think their customs and regions are so great then stay in your homeland. But unlike the brave Metis who continues to oppose the government and finally 100 years later some our birthrights as the original Canadians have been recognized. My great grandfather and his father were both named Antoine and Charles Henault dit Canada, and to this day from the 1700s some of my cousin’s last name has been Canada since the 1700s. People with Canadian passports don’t make them Canadian. Indians from Indian don’t integrate or intermarry. They impose their culture on the rest of the country. Get rid of them all.

I worked at a bank. I seen the amount of money refugees and immigrants receive. A family that was brought to my town from another country due to "grape" of the daughters, was given enough money for them to have fur coats, shopping galore and the Dad was a scary perv who I was warned by his son was dangerous. I'm a born and raised Canadian, as well as my husband. Even before our country was completely taken over, employment was hard to come by because of the fw's. 8 years ago, my husband had enough with trying to find a job, he stopped counting at over 450 resumes that were ignored, so he decided that we should start our own company, a small delivery company that 2 years later, we added a safe ride service to (driving drunk people home in their own vehicle). I was the manager of a little pizza place, which was run by immigrants, but good ones. I was hired because my husband approached them about doing deliveries, and they wanted to meet me. I had no idea I was going for an interview but they begged me to work for them, their reason; although they could speak English, they weren't fluent in it, so they wanted an English speaking employee who could easily understand the customer's. Within days, I was promoted to manager, and I loved my job and all of them. They treated everyone with such kindness and generosity. I found out just how much support they got from our government, when I broke down one day because I couldn't afford my prescription. My boss was so confused because he and his family got free prescriptions, dental, eye care, etc and they thought everyone got that. My boss paid for my prescription and actually apologized to me for how our own government treated us. He also showed me that they get $2,500 every 2 weeks, funding to start or buy businesses, but if they don't hire other fw's or immigrants, that funding changes to a grant and they have to pay it back. They are given money for housing, and vehicles. He was pushed out of that business by his 2 partners, and the partner's promised him I would keep my job. That was a complete lie. They stopped putting me on the schedule, claiming financial problems (bs), but hired not one but two new full time immigrant employees. I lost it and quit. Our town isn't that big, and word spread fast, especially when everyone found out that I was still owed over $2,000, which I will never see because no government agency will help me. Their business is actually struggling now and I love that for them. As for my husband and I's business, it's going strong but I came unglued when we recieved a letter from the government "suggesting" that we hire immigrants. I wrote back, telling them in no uncertain terms would that ever happen, and it will be a cold day in hell when one of us steps back so one of the government's favored people can take that money from us because we are the only 2 employees and we're not sacrificing a damn thing for someone who already gets everything.

I think MAID could help you. That didn’t come from a left-wing source as many right wing folks will say that it’s the left who wants to euthanize disabled people. That came from someone from a right leaning source. So writer left nobody wants to pay for anyone to have a free ride, even if the ride isn’t really free. I live on $800 a month and I am much too disabled to work and I don’t have family. In addition, I’ve been told I’m not eligible for rent gear to income, but it’s not like I’m going to get well. Anyway, it seems people don’t like to put out for others and I get it because the folks at the top are always happy to see the little guys tear each other apart. None of our politicians have ever voluntarily Given up a pay cut to support those who can’t work any longer or who never could. That would be the pro life thing to do. They’re always voting themselves big raises.

I was born and raised here. I've given birth to 6 children whom all have issues finding employment. Because all the jobs are taken every convenience store every timorhorns, every Taco Bell, every Burger King. Is taken their jobs and giving them to newcomers. I'm not against people coming over to our beautiful land and enjoying and contributing. Insane that? You've Come to us kindly respect us. Don't take Uber the way it is going right now. We are gonna be the minority and what's gonna happen 50 years down the road? Our great grandkids are gonna be going after the government. Looking for a handout because our government has given away all of our jobs. They've given away our security. I will our elderly need to work until almost the day they go in the ground, so many homeless families. Some of it. Is self situitional some of it? Is because, for a simple 3 bedroom. There's 2 grand add your hydro. Add, your heat. Winter is coming like one of the ladies in the video. Says I haven't had cable or satellite and probably 20 years. I make minimum wage working 40 hours a week. I have rent. I have a car payment. I have insurance and a warm more time. As she said, there's nothing left over. Where is our? Where is our Pat? On the back our gratitude, I am a people person. It doesn't matter color shape sighs. I love everybody as an individual but I like understanding when they're talking to me too. I don't know if this is gonna do any good. I really don't and I'm not trying to sound rude or racist cause. I am not it's just one lonely. Worker's outlook on the world and how Canada has become. I consider myself International( 3ed generation Canadian) because I spent half of my life working in many countries. Canada was always my home until about 15 years ago when I started feeling that thigs are changing in the wrong directions not only the immigration influx but total anti-Christian war, morality, family values, sexualization of children etc etc. its all gone to HELL !! This is not only about money and cheap labor, rather the NEW WORLD ORDER that the Western ELITES have implementing for decades. The same thing that's happening to us Canadians, it's happening to Americans, Britian, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and most of our G20 group because they all agreed to this globalization, and neoliberal policies. Now that my children graduated, I have moved them to an east European country where all my values and beliefs are still intact. I will be leaving Canada soon with a very sad heart, in my mind I will keep the Canada that I once loved. THIS IS ALL PLANNED it's not a mistake !! The countries in EU that don't allow for mass immigrants are being targeted, sanctioned, fined in the billions and are forcing to oust the governments ( Hungary, Slovakia, Poland etc )!! Government wants racial hearted and that's why it allows things that aggravates the Canadians...it's all about control and fear, they want us te fear each other !! If Canadian government wanted a high birth rate than it should have given the money that they spend on new immigrants to Canadian mothers in order to stay home and have more kids. Many countries have birth incentives for more than 2 children, countries that are nowhere economically on the Canadian level. Simply as I said, this is about globalization !!!

I became homeless after spending over 2 months in the ICU of a Toronto hospital barely walking in was taken to a Toronto city shelter and for 5 years I've been in 5 different Toronto shelters in what seemed like a blink of a eye every shelter became 80% north African Muslim men ,they were given cash allowances to buy their own food $80 a day plus welfare cheques once a month boosted up with TTC allowance $157 clothing allowances and yes they were all given money to buy laptops and smart phones apparently so they can keep in touch with their families back in Africa, in the last shelter I stayed in there was only 6 white Canadian born homeless people living there and 94 north Africans whom we started to notice were being housed only to have the next one take up their cott space housed yes and when we started looking into how they were getting housed so fast when we were apparently on a 37,000 name waiting list for housing with our housing workers telling us it will take 10 years if we are lucky then we found out about the secret housing program that these fresh off the boat immigrants were getting market value apartments of their choice you pick the government pays one African we befriended ( he wasn't a believer in Islam shush or they'll kill him) got a 1 bedroom condo apartment over looking Toronto's Island airport $2,700 a month and the government payed for all his furnishings, so now we knew and we approached the on site housing workers asking why we weren't told about COHB at first they tried to deny it existed but researching we had all the information first these COHB forms were to be handed out to those with seniority length of stay so as to cut out on abuse being that they are worth over $250,000 after ten years of paying your rent as in free housing for life , then we discovered the staff were making false entries on our files claiming some of us lost our seniority for fighting claiming we were kicked out for 14 days others for smoking violations what they didn't think we knew was on admission to any shelter you sign a agreement that they are videoing you and keeping a file on you that also stated we are allowed to have up to date copies of our files then during the 2 weeks we were supposedly kicked out we asked for the videos from that period once they realized we had a advocate working for us who a l so supplies lawyers to us should we need so they got caught then management called us all up for a meeting and that's when we hit him with a bombshell yes the shelters are staffed with immigrants from the same African countries this Hoard is coming from and we have a sworn statement saying they are charging $10,000 for these guaranteed housing forms yes $10,000 that's what our none Muslim African shelter friend payed for his form and why he's now living free in easily close to a million dollar condo and believe me the cars parked there show it, ok so after we busted them guess what 6 whites who were all born in Canada and have lived a average of 3.5 years in a shelter all got housed in apartments of our choosing mind we did get ours fully furnished by the government like all these illegal Christian hating islamists get free housing free food free clothing free medical free dental free prescription drugs and a free huge monthly welfare cheque Rebel news please contact us we want every Canadian to know what's going on and how we Canadians are being left out, p.s just go to any money transfer business at the end of the month and you'll see line ups of these north Africans wiring money back to their wives and families even boxing up all the mountains of free clothing sending it to Africa same what they're doing with all the prescription drugs they are getting for free everything is about making money taking taking taking not putting anything back , now I sleep soundly no one stealing my belongings no more catching a different cold every week no more being called a filthy infidel which seems to be their favorite word COHB look that up and if your living paycheck to paycheck working 2 jobs just get to a shelter say one with 94 Africans who will all be housed shortly leaving you the most seniority easy peasy but remember to keep a eye on your file for false entries or borrow $10,000 to buy one

There’s nothing like that ever it’s all alive. What you saying? This is just the wish of some bigots. You’re feeling all your doctors and other professional gaps and you’re given all the lower jobs from restaurants to any other lower jobs that Canadians don’t wanna do. Yes you’re right. An immigrant family can come here and six years later have a house because they share all the family by a house because they have a family value. The earlier arrivals here to buy house is a big dream they won’t make it except the privileged the work by family members and oil rigs are the professionals. This country use built by immigrants all it is the early arrivals and the late arrivals. To begin with this is a stolen country. At least the immigrants are coming by legal method, but the early arrivals they just stole it by killing the natives.

Can someone please tell Trump Canada is our friend. They have given lives in our wars. They are going to find other customers for their oil while our auto industry will be trashed. They will find other countries to buy their lumber while the cost of building American homes soars. It will be easy for Canada, Mexico and China to come out ahead in this trade war. Trump’s understanding of economics and international trade is at the sixth grade level- and not a very bright sixth grader. Finally where is Trumps plan to protect American families and workers? Where is the national resolve to work together to get through this?

What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

India should stop e-visas for govt employees of countries like the US. Any US citizen who or whose immediate family member is a US govt employee should be asked to queue up at an Indian consulate and given an appointment after 1 year. They should be asked to submit various sorts of documents, submit their passport, wait for 45 days after which depending on the mood of the officer at the consulate, a sticker visa could be issued. I came to Saskatchewan Canada as an international student in fall 2023. I did a care assistant program and was attracted to coming to Canada because I kept hearing that there is a labour shortage in healthcare in Canada. However I feel like everything just started going to sh*t in 2024 when I was finishing up my program ?.\n\n One of the things I'd like to highlight about the small towns is that they can be very biased in their hiring practices. Some of us as (black) students had a hard time getting jobs in healthcare in the town because jobs were given based on family and friend linkages (so mostly white or Filipino people got hired). Also there was a severe housing shortage. So even though locals (from my perception) wanted us to stay and work in healthcare (because they are short staffed), realistically there was no where to stay. Canada can't say it wants people in more rural areas and not improve housing in those areas as well. I have honestly been rather disappointed with Canada because I expected better planning from a developed country.

This Student Visa to Work Permit thing from years ago has been stealing jobs from Canadians for too long. This group will accept and even counter offer potential employer with lower wage so they can get the job and apply for permanent residency. After that they apply the whole family to come over. Given they are not exactly rich to start with, they and their family end up costing our social assistance more. Send them home and they can apply properly.

If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. Because most of them come with money they borrow knowing well they are not in for studies but for residences. But the government didnt know that and now they flooded the place and the students are now demanding for job and room to stay. I live in the Swanton sector in Upstate NY, 5 miles south of the Canadian border. Our small town sees dozens of border crossers a day, many just wandering down our Main Street waiting to catch a ride to NYC. Several months ago, I approached a group of a dozen military age males, loitering around the gas station at the main crossroad in town. One male was on a cell phone trying to communicate with someone on the other end who was speaking very good English, meaning no perceivable accent. The cell phone male was unable to communicate with the person on the other end of the call (female voice). As I listened to the other members of the group talking, I heard several words and or phrases that sounded familiar to me (possibly Arabic). I was language trained in the military for Arabic. When I spoke to the men, their eyes lit up with recognition. They were all Muslims from Bangladesh. After several moments of chatting, I was able to discover where they were from, that they flew into Canada, were given a contact # to call after crossing and for them to make their way to NYC. My data is anecdotal but a majority of the migrants we’re are seeing here in Upstate NY are from Central Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh). Winter is quickly approaching here, and many who risk the Swanton sector route will not make it due to the extreme cold. Many of my friends who live outside of town, many farmers, are deeply concerned or frightened for the safety of their families. Many have had migrants approach their houses and attempt to gain access. Truly scary stuff. And it seems to only be getting worse.

TFW here, east Asian, a couple of things:\nI am paid the provincial minimum wage, and work in the dairy industry, medium sized farm.\nI started working straight out of high school\n\nFrom what I can see and hear from across the province and largely in the western Canadian provinces, older generation farmers are at the retirement age, but the younger generation is generally very reluctant to take over. \nNot all industries, but definitely in livestock, people sometimes don't realize that, there is literally no breaks, ever! You work every day, holidays, Christmas, and if you do chose to take a few days off, your co-workers, i.e. other family members or workers, have to take up the extra workload. You barely have time for your family, you are often tired around your kids. Farmers have some of the highest suicide rates among all occupations, as well as a difficulty to find partners due to the nature of their jobs.\nThe work is hard, days long, especially during harvests, and if the ever more expensive tractors, equipment fail...\nThere used to be a lot of family owned farms, over the last few decades most have sold their generational farm and left the industry, most because of the cost to operate and because the next generation's unwillingness to take over.\nYong people my age have not been seen applying for my position in a few years now, despite ongoing hiring effort at significantly higher than minimum wage, and I have repeatedly stated that I, although love my job, am ready to step aside at any point so a Canadian PR or citizen can take my position, as required by worker rules. There were a few inquiries from neighboring areas, mostly made by parents, but their children in the end all refused to work, even part time, or seasonal.\n\nOn the other hand, there is the issue of prices: equipment costs have largely more than doubled since the pandemic, grain prices rose... and all that on top of the constant uncertainty of the weather every planting and harvesting season. Most farms don't ever make a profit after the yearly operating cost is deducted from earnings, and the little profit that on occasion appear, goes right back into paying debt or reinvesting in renewing long overdue old equipment.\n\nMy position, and all those similar to mine in agriculture, are in all fairness, very low skilled, with minimum training, and therefore is only worth minimum wage, in my opinion. I was actually offered a higher amount but in the end turned it down because on the job, I discovered the only thing I bring to the table is manual labor (I know that's not really the right way to go about wages, but I do believe that wages should be based on the irreplaceableness of one's skills, and as it stands, although no replacements were ever found, I am very much easily replaceable, skill wise). That, compared to a slightly better paid Starbucks position, with benefits (most farm workers and owners don't have benefits or pension, yes owners too), air conditioning, regular work hours. I mean, if it wasn't for my particular interest for agriculture I'd pick Starbucks any day too!\n\nI think a couple issues are at hand, \n1. Most of agriculture's profit ends up in the corporate processing and supermarkets, that needs to change, workers could benefit, as well as consumers, from distributing that profit between farmers and shoppers.\n2. Agriculture in today's context no longer fit the modern life, although I strongly think that A LOT of people can benefit from getting their hands dirty once in a while and sweating a bit, improve physical and mental health, have better discipline all that jazz. So foreign workers are the temporary solution, if well regulated so that Canadian PR and citizens are ALWAYS prioritized for hire and at a fair wage. This cannot happen unless farmers can turn a profit, stated in point 1.\n3. A new generation of farmers are needed to take over, and they need to be somehow convinced that it is worth the toil, because as it stands, it is not, financially, life style wise. Automation is one solution, although therein lies the huge, foreseeable risk of corporate takeover.\n4. On a specific note, TFW does mandate that workers are provided up to standard housing (not always followed), which puts local workers at a huge disadvantage if they are commuting to work and paying rent, although that rarely happens, and the majority of farms do offer housing to all.\n\n\nI am aware that me being treated up to regulation is not the norm among my TFW peers, which is quite sad and unacceptable. But in my opinion, even if given a leveled playing field, wages , conditions, housing, etc. Canadian citizens and PRs largely will be unable to meet the demand for these jobs, from unwillingness to work really hard physically, unwillingness to live the lifestyle, wanting a career with better prospects... these are harsh words, but I believe to be true, and they also come from a lot of older generation farmers talking about their children and grandchildren. \n\nThis is just in the agri industry, and from what I hear from farmers from all over western Canada : )

I was never racist or taught to see people of other ethnicities or religions as inferior so I don't hate Indians, nor do I show them disrespect unless warranted but the rampant abuse of our systems has messed up so many things. I know of large families of Indians who came as asylum seekers who'd come over separately while claiming different names so when they all come together some families are getting $30k or more per month just for being here. They drive expensive new luxury vehicles and mostly wear expensive designer clothes and are given homes while at the same time us Canadians born and raised here are struggling to even get to eat well every day or have a home to begin with. It's not entirely the fault of Indians, the blame also needs to be shared by our gov't as well since they opened the borders and have mostly waived the process of vetting who comes into our country. It's never a bad thing to have people who genuinely add to the collective greatness of a country but we have let in too many freeloaders and even criminals, the Indian gangs extorting businesses for millions in BC and Alberta for example. Nothing wrong with Indian immigrants as long as we can balance the needs and safety of everyone involved as well. Right now there is no balance and the results are catastrophic.
