Whats not fair is that they came here for a better life and now our quality of life has suffered. Every person will tell you how things have changed negatively because of the Indians, Punjabi's and Pakistanis. None of them aligns with Canadian values. I feel its very rude and nerve-racking of them to come here and then try to change our culture to look like what they just came from. They are a dirty people. They have no rules when it comes to cleanliness in their food factories. They literally use their filthy feet to help in the preparation of food that is shipped to Western countries. Its a common agreement that we dont want them here. Even natural-born Indians dont want them here. They know how disgusting their hygiene practises are. I went to an indian resteraunt with a friend of mine and i could see into the kitchen and the guy who was cooking was barefooted and as he came to deliver the food he slid into a pair of slippers. I asked him if he was cooking in bare feet and he lied saying OHHH no maam and then he lifted his foot. I looked at my friend and said this is grose and im going to McDonalds. While the U.S. has the power to harm its allies, those allies also have the ability to push back, and the USA is rapidly losing friends who may not return. As America’s alliances weaken, so do the obstacles its rivals face. \n\nTake Australia, for example. Should it continue aligning with the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific region? Should it continue hosting critical American surveillance infrastructure? Should it keep supporting and supplying the U.S. fleet? You are so justified. Most Americans are embarrassed and furious with the behavior of our newly elected president. Canada, you are my friend.

Unfortunately Trump befriends bullies and alienates friends and neighbors. In 2026 we will have midterm elections. That will be the time to make a necessary change and I trust Americans will vote.

I voted for Trump and a lot of his policies and actions I agree with, THIS one I do not, Canada did not let in NEARLY as many illegal immigrants as Mexico so it makes no sense why he is punishing them, and he isn't, he just doesn't like Trudeau probably because he was friends or friendly with Biden, same with Zelensky AND Canada wanted to ban products from red states for electing him which is frankly just a stupid policy. \nThis is not hard to figure out, Trump doesn't like Trudeau and Ford, plain and simple......it really is THAT shallow, he is trolling Trudeau by calling them the 51st state and anyone know knows Trump and how he thinks knows that.

Americans obviously didn’t understand what tariffs are, didn’t get that it’s an import tax which they must pay on goods and products they buy from Canada, a tax which tRump collects from Americans and uses to pay for tax-cuts for the richest citizens. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. And there’s a federal election approaching when all partisans will be one-upping each other in the patriotism department—which manifests in more boycotts of US goods and hospitality services.\n\n Americans should know that the unofficial boycott is more harmful to US exporters than the official targeted countervails because it features immediate and longterm diminishment of Canadian purchases of US goods—all retailers know it’s very hard to recover lost customers once they’ve found alternatives (and the added patriotic effect only makes it worse). Included is diminishment of Canadian visits to the USA. Indeed, the internet is replete with testimonies of Canadian”snow birds” not only forgoing their annual sojourn in the Florida or Arizona sunshine but also of selling their properties there with the parting shot, “I will never vacation in the US again!” Already Mexico has seen its visits from Canadians (who have had a modest presence in Mexico for years) surge to unprecedented levels. I know from much-welcomed temp Mexican construction workers in BC (where I live) that they view Canadians completely differently from our mutual US neighbours—and now that affection is growing like never before. \n\nI’m continually amazed at how uninformed Americans are about tariffs—and misinformed by tRump and his goofy, preposterous, and ridiculous fantasy of world-domination. When tRump uses the lame excuse to implement emergency powers —that Canada is “allowing” (as Vance puts it) fentanyl to “pour into the USA”—it’s tantamount to saying Ukraine started the war with Russia. The man is a tendentious liar and narcissistic megalomaniac. \n\nI have faith that the great nation of the USA will reject tRump’s crazy policies—we all just have to hang on and let the needless suffering for both our nations (and the world with regard strategic alliances) play out until he either relents, is swamped in legal repercussions, is impeached, or otherwise removed from office!\n\nGood luck my American and Ukrainian friends!

With Canada here...this is going to hurt US consumers and business more, and with inflation still an issue, this will only make things worse for us here. Where are our elected officials? Where are our Republican Senators and Congressmen? Why are they not speaking up for us the people??\nThis is a sad day for America!! Canada is our friend!!

I’m an American and I did Not vote for Trump. I knew he would destroy our country if he was elected. Many people are angry in America that Trump has launched this trade war with our Canadian friends. We love our neighbors. Many Americans do not want this. We are not happy with how things are changing for the worst in our country and in other countries. We are being ruled by an insane, thug/criminal and bully and his rich, puppet buddies. Diplomacy is not in their vocabularies. This is so sad. Stay strong Canada??

A Canadian here who can't agree with the disparaging comments about Trudeau. He has done more good than some earlier Prime Ministers. Enjoying the new free dental coverage he just established? I disagree with him here though when he says Canadians don't hold this tariff thing against Americans. WE DO! You're the ones who elected this wrecking ball who destroys everything (and everyone) he touches. I encourage all our Europeans friends to buy Canadian whenever possible.

Full support to canadian people but not these 3 jokers. what trump is doing is not good, even india is not acting like this when bangladesh is operating like a rabid dog, however what real canadians should understand is that their country's current situation is because of this 3 jokers. Canada should appoint leaders that has atleast some basic understanding of geopolitics. Look at india right after meeting trump last week it has signed several deals with the EU, and even finalizing FTA with it by the end of this year. There was suppose to be a FTA with canada aswell but these jokers supported criminal illegals from india which india wanted back to face justice but these jokers defended those guys and even threatened indian diplomats, so even now you guys have time, exercise your democratic power and throw these three boogers and illegals out of your county. Trump does not speak for all USA citizens. Many of we Americans also want to be friends and allies and are totally against the Trump policies. Remember, he only won the election by 1.47% of voters with 89.2 million eligible (unbelievable) voters not bothering to voting. USA is worth fighting for!

I had to stop listening to this panty waste! We have been trying to understand for TEN YEARS, what the Liberal/NDP Coalition has been doing/saying. Why did it take a President from another country, to threaten tariffs for them to do their jobs? Sell Out Singh, is just as much to blame, as is Croatia Freeland, Mark “Carnage” Carney! Carney probably made a deal with DT for all of this!! I am not a fan of DT, not even close, and it pains me to agree with some of the things he’s saying. JT, says 1% of drugs come from here.
