Moved to downtown Toronto, Canada on June 5th, 1970. There was no indian grocery stores until a few years later, where a Mr. Sharma opened one of the very first stores. Growing up in the heart of downtown and going to school (Ossington and Old Orchard P.S.) wasn't easy. There was quite a bit of racism in those days so my sister and I had to assimilate quickly, in which we did. We happily lived within the Portuguese and Italian communities and the rest is history!!!!

Thank you for the video. I'm 33 and Partner is 30, graduating soon from his PhD. We love Canada and everything about it but weather. However, we feel increasingly bored with life here despite the fact that we live in downtown Toronto. So we think of moving to Europe or US, haven't decided yet. Depends on jobs, cost of living and crime rates.

I dont know wtf is this. My friend moved to Montreal , pretty quickly got a studio for 600 euro near downtown. And she says the minimum wage is enough to cover all expenses, and she is new there. She likes it there more than in Dubai, and she had a great and well-paid job in Dubai.\nYes, canada can still do better and should have higher salaries or at least lower cost of house rent. But come on, mist contries cant offer even survival on average salary! \nOK TORONTO AND VANQUVER are expensive but there are other cities where u can survive. Its bwtter than nothing. In most bullshit contries u will work for 500 dollars or even less. And u cant afford shit for those money.

If you walk around in downtown Toronto, there's trash and chaos everywhere. Canada is soon to be a third world country. I don't understand why people still want to move to Canada, Canadians are overpaying for everything and they don't make a lot of money either.

I came to Canada in 2020. I studied for 3 years in London, Ontario, and moved to Toronto 6 months ago to work. My opinion is that the city of Toronto is deeply ill and something is definitely wrong. I live and work Downtown, and have to pay 2650 CAD/month to live in 400 sq ft inside a condo. There are no trees/wild animals within many square kilometers of my house, but there are a lot of homeless people and dangerous drug addicts. I learned the hard way that living in Toronto and visiting Toronto as a tourist are totally different things. I hope to be able to leave the city as soon as possible, and possibly get back to London.

I'm an immigrant to Canada. I've been here for 35 years (came here when I was 6). The current immigration/migration/ayslum seeker rates have gone completely insane. It isn't racist to think it's gone overboard. I went to very very multicultural schools. I grew up in Toronto and have lived downtown for 20 years now. I love our multiculturalism but there are limits to immigration if there simply isn't an infrastructure to support countless hundreds of thousands of people trying to move into the city each year. It's not sustainable at all. The roads aren't getting bigger, the housing zoning isn't getting easier, new hospitals aren't being built. You cannot try and cram 4 million people in a city built for like 2 million people. People moving to Canada simply do not realize just how absurdly expensive this place has become. What's the better alternative being poor in India or being poor in Canada? Because unless you are making 100k a year you are going to basically be poor in Toronto.\n\nThe big big difference as someone who has lived downtown Toronto for 20 years is now the homeless are very multicultural. 10 years ago it wasn't like that as much. Now people from every race and every background are at risk of homelessness. It's a rate race, it's a very competitive city for housing and jobs and as soon as you aren't in making $$$$$ you will fall behind.

I escaped Commie-da 17 years ago and moved to Asia. I saw this coming a MILE AWAY.... now is just a joke. If you're wife isn't getting groped on the bus by ...then ur avoiding shit on the streets. I stay in the house when I go an visit. Have no urge to even go to downtown Toronto or anywhere else. Also, $25 for a CHICKEN.. a bloody CHICKEN.. I pay $3 in Indonesia, and you can buy a beautiful new house here in a guarded private estate for $200k and live like a KING on 40k a year. You can rent a house with a pool here for $6k a YEAR in same private estate.. I dont even lock my door or close my garage when I leave., like it USED T OBE in Canada 25 years ago..... Get out before they close the borders again for the next psyop.

Remember one thing, safety comes first and these things, that you have explained, people can get jobs according to their education ability, that applies to India too. Coming to student part, they come with their wish to Canada 95% only to settle, not to study...! \n\nHealth System is free and in Brampton I see lots of walkin clinics and hospitals which are trying to solve the problem...In Canada drugs quantity is less mg as compared to India tablets, docs don’t feed you strong medicine which can effect kidney or other organs, afraid in India its going opposite, to get fast recovery, doctor recommends high dosage which effects life of human and side effects come with it.\n\n\nLook at that part of Canadian old age people. People live longer here in Canada, and 30-40% you will find people living above 60 plus age. \n\nAny refugee claimant coming to Canada, gets Welfare from Govt., atleast $800 per month....he/she is not even PR, or citizen...they get child benefits as well...they get free of cost work/study permit...\n\ndoes any country provide that?? You need to do research on that part...\n\nOnly temporary residents, such as students, visitors except Refugee claimants have issues, dont forget their main purpose here in Canada is studying or visiting, giving 20hrs per week to work, its optional, I have seen arabic students and other nationalities focusing on studying more than work. People take loans for studies in India from banks, then come to Canada. Then whole family comes to Canada with mediums, sponsorships, some dont even fill their loans completely...you need to search on that....\nNo Nation is perfect, but if you want me to start comparing peaceful life between, India and other nations, Canada vs USA, Canada vs Australia...Then lets have a long conversation...! \n\nI am not hurt as a Canadian Citizen, but if students can’t find jobs, and they only want to stay in Brampton or Toronto their life, not whole nations problem....just like people wants to move to Delhi and Mumbai for life miracles...same goes here with Indian People being doing same old “Bhed Chaal”....\n\nComing to junkies life and homelessness, 80% of the people came from jail or have done shady things in their life, not like Canadian system made them like this. India brings a complete opposite religion, language and ideology to foreign countries. It’s the Indian the does not participate in community activities, and integrate into a true Canadian national identity. This refusal has ultimately resulted in Indian being discouraged and quickly blaming others for the problem they have. If rent in downtown Vancouver on the 25th floor is to expensive, maybe try moving to more rural communities in Canada, where costs are different in living. If you come from a poor punjab province in India whereas you’ve sold the farm to come , then don’t expect a downtown Toronto sky rise , 1500 square foot 17th floor underground heated parking, to be the dream destination of your vision. It’s comparable to moving from the punjab to downtown Delhi and expecting the same cost comparisons to the punjab. Unfortunately it’s not sad to see the Indian people go. Hopefully Canada will begin immigration of more cultural like minded people and more people that have religious alliances, than some completely opposite ideology than a Canadian nationalist.

I moved to Canada in 2016, I have a university degree in engineering from a European country, and I have realized without a Canadian degree and experience it's really hard to find a job, I did my research and started to learn coding online. I worked on my Software dev portfolio (github, resume) and started to apply for jobs. Now working as a dev for a tech company in Toronto. I was paying a few years back 1400 for a basement... I working remotely so I decided to leave Canada and move to a more affordable country now I pay 1000 for an amazing Budapest downtown apartment.

Ya it’s sad. I lived in downtown Toronto for 20 years and loved it! I left 3 years ago and moved to Mexico. I don’t agree w much of what is going on in Canada right now. My friends and family are all still in Canada so it was a difficult move but it’s no longer the Canada I know. Very sad for sure :(

Hey this is the first video I watched and wanted to say this. Canada DOES NOT have some systemic racism. Please do not be a clueless liberal.\n1. The income difference based on skin color is based on level of education and jobs chosen, NOT some skin color. This is why if you break down the income difference based on the countries of origin, black immigrants from countries with high education levels such as ones from Nigeria have a higher average income compared to the rest of the population, even though their skin is as dark as any black person. \n2. I suggest you visit Richmond BC, Surrey BC, or Vancouver Downtown, so many successful Asian and brown people there. In fact, white people are moving to suburbs since asian immigrants are buying up expensive realestate in big cities like Vancouver and Toronto. Still RaCiSM? \n3. Whites (especially white males) are the only group in Canada that can be openly discriminated against in hiring and school applications, as diversity quotas require a minimal number of women and non-whites to be chosen, over whites (and men)who may meet the criteria. Everyone needs to be treated equally, and solely based on their abilities and qualifications. \n\nAnyone with a half a brain can see that it is better to be a non-white person in Canada right now than other way around. And I am an Asian myself saying this.

I randomly looked at videos from downtown Manchester and Concord in New Hampshire - Philadelphia - Detroit - Chicago - New York - Baltimore - Denver - Atlanta - Nashville, and Knoxville in the United States, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, and London in the UK, Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Toulouse in France, Frankfurt, and Hamburg in Germany, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane in Australia, Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka in Japan, Busan, Seoul, and Incheon in South Korea, Toronto - Quebec - Montreal - Winnipeg - Calgary - Vancouver - Victoria - Ottawa and Thunder Bay in Canada. we should be fair. The bitter truth must be accepted. Without any exaggeration. Completely impartial. I have to say that I didn't see a single piece of garbage in any of the other country's videos to convince myself. Without exaggeration, in all Canadian cities, you will find a piece of trash or garbage on the ground less than every hundred meters. It must have an important reason. I do not know. But this is a bitter truth. You can try. This country should be brought closer to its exaggerated claim. Certainly, some Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and even Malaysia are much cleaner compared to Canada. Of course, we should not forget that Canada claims to be one of the 10 cleanest countries in the world. And cities like Vancouver and Toronto claim to be one of the 5 cleanest cities in the world. I am 50 years old and from a country in the 3rd world in the Middle East called Iran (with the most dictatorial regime in the world) and have traveled to 26 countries. Canada is far from its claims. At this time I live in Saint-Sauveur with my family. I work 5 hours a week as a volunteer person to clean the sides of roads, streets, national parks, and public places in the city. I lived in Vancouver for 4 years, this city is a disaster. when you drive or walk on East Hastings, Victoria Drive, Commercial Drive, West Georgia, Broadway, Main Street, Granville, and most places downtown, you never believe this city is in Canada. they're worst than some places in Africa or the 3rd world countries in Asia. I love this country and try my best to help. I came for peace. I thought Canada is a developed and first-world country like European countries, the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, News Land, and Singapore with the western standard, and also I thought is one of the best. The first time 2018 I arrived in Vancouver, I was shocked. I saw a lot of homelessness, trash, crime, ugly urbanism, and rusty houses in downtown and east Vancouver. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. late in 2022I decided to move to the east coast because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. This is impossible. surprisingly nobody cares. neither the people nor the government!!!!!!! please, don't be fooled by the advertisement about a good Canada. please, be careful. most of the things about a good Canada are deception.

Canada, country of homeless and trash. I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherland, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country.
