HA!!! I STARTED A JOB IN WHITE ROCK BC. DOING GROCERY DELIVERY FOR THRIFTY FOODS, THE FIRST DAY ON THE JOB I HURT MY BACK ON THE L4-L5 VERTEBRAE, THE PAIN WAS SO HORRIBLE THAT IT RENDERED ME UNABLE TO WALK, I TRIED TO GET AN APPOINTMENT AT THE JIMMY PATTISON PAIN CLINIC AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO WAIT 8 MONTHS, MY PAIN WAS SO HORRIBLE, I COULDN'T EVEN WALK TO THE BATHROOM WITHOUT SCREAMING FROM THE PAIN... THE MEDICAL SYSTEM IN BC IS SO F'N BROKEN ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY!!! SO MANY OF OUR DOCTORS AND NURSES HAVE MOVED TO THE STATES BECAUSE OUR GOVERNMENT IS TOO F'N CHEAP TO PAY FOR GOOD QUALITY CANADIAN CARE WHAT THE HELL IS THIS COUNTRY COMING TO???? WE NEED TO GET RID OF THIS MONEY DRAINING WOKE LIBERAL GOVERNMENT!!! THEY'VE RUINED CANADA SO MUCH WITH HOW THEY OVER POPULATED OUR GREAT COUNTRY WITH IMMIGRANTS WHO DO NOT WANT TO ADAPT TO OUR CANADIAN CULTURE, INSTEAD THEY COME HERE AND EXPECT US CANADIANS TO ADAPT TO THEIR WAY OF LIFE!!! We are all immigrants other than the indigenous and Inuit. My father’s family can be traced back to 1538. He is French Canadian and native. My mom was an Irish American from Cleveland Ohio. This country has changed so much. I am at a loss. We need to speak out our opinions. I have lived here all over Canada, all my life. Why can we open up the the immigration doors when we did not have the infrastructure. It was insane. It hurt the original Canadians. The migrants are treated special. There should not be kickbacks. The govt has created this racism by giving immigrants priviliges

I want prices to go down as much as anyone; but I do not want to hurt the citizens in our allied countries or any countries for that matter. You seek to destroy Canada. Go ahead, do your worst. Keep being manipulated by the Putin and Musk of the world. \nThis is the last time you will use this closeness between Canada and the USA to hurt Canada this way. Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. It will look like his tax breaks aren't hurting as much as they are and price increases will be the fault of the other countries.\n\nTrump is a conniving grifter with no knowledge of how to run a country's economy or international trade. He is gaslighting the American public to cover his own shortcomings.\n\nAlso, if fentanyl is entering the US, why is it the fault of the other countries? It is the job of the US to stop anything on its side of the border. Canada and Mexico do what they can to catch the drugs while inside their respective countries. The tons of cocaine and guns that enter Canada and Mexico from the US are caught by their border services; they don't blame the US for the products getting past their own border agents, and the US takes no responsibility for it making it across the border. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.

I am wondering if Fox is gonna show this speech, and how about Newsmax and, the other one that I right now don't remember, I really hope the Americans who voted for trump see how a real leader talks and behaves and I also hope that people realize that this president is hurting every single American Citizen, these tariffs will not help our country it will make it so much harder for every person in The USA to make a decent living. I have so much respect for the Canadians! You do what you have to do to protect your country, it used to be the American way too! Not one American can blame you for protecting yourself even if it is going to hurt. As much as this might hurt me as an American, Trudeau will always have my respect for standing firm against our enemies and calling out the harms that Trump is causing to America and the world. Trudeau speaks truth and that is admirable.

What I have loved most about the stupidity of Trump, his government and his supporters is that it has brought Europe and the commonwealth together. It’s made citizens of each country unite together at a time that there was so much division especially in Europe. People across the world boycotting the USA to show their, disgust, hit them where it hurts, supporting other business and bolstering our own economies, in doing so also supporting those Americans that did not vote for this. So much good coming from this.

Canada putting tariffs on American goods hurts Canadians much more than Americans.

Wrong! It doesn’t cost Americans more when a tariff is placed. It forces the incoming product manufacturer to lower its costs so people will still buy, and if people still buy, the percentage of tariff will fund the us government vs our income taxes. If they don’t lower their costs, they risk people not buying which hurts their business and hurts the country they are in because they don’t make as much money to send taxes to their country’s government

I'm an American who moved to Canada in 2009 and I'm quite happy never living in The US.\n\n\nWhile Canada is not immune from many of the social ills of The US, they are nowhere near as prevalent.\n\nGun crime is far less of a problem here. Racism exists but it is not as virulent here and the government, while not specifically trying to help me (I am black) it is not trying to hurt me or dehumanize me.\n\nLife is just...generally...more civil here and community minded.\n\nI'm not saying that I hate The US, just that I. Much happier and feel safer here.\n\nAt my age (62), that is important to me.

Well, as a Canadian, I guess i'll pitch in.\nWould I move to the US? The short answer is no. But I will explain more in detail.\n\nFirst, I do not see any advantages to the US compared to Canada. Americams often tout their country as the beacon of freedom and the land of opportunities, but I don't feel that Canada is so different there. We're actually higher on the world freedom index, and its not like our economy was in shambles and everyone dirt poor... We pay more taxes, fine, but we also get more services in return, and that last part has the advantage to remove a big layer of worry. Like, for healthcare, I don't have to worry if i'm covered by insurance or not, or if the insurance carrier will drop me on some technicality. I'm a citizen. All the basic needs are covered; no questions asked (and the healthcare quality is not half bad. We just prioritize urgent cases over non-urgent; so if you go to the hospital for something non-urgent, you will wait, and more urgent cases will pass before you. Annoying when it happens, but I understand and agree with that in the end)\n\nSecond, I do see a lot of disadvantages. All the points raised in the video are valid, from the private-sector healthcare system, the gun control laws (or lack thereof), the social policies and legislation in some states; they don't agree with me.\n\nI think it comes down to some specific social and cultural ideas that are prevalent or at least present in a substantial manner in the american society. Bear in mind that I am generalizing here, not every american believes these points, but many do. I'm talking about ego, nationalism/patriotism, secularism etc.\nI feel that the US often has a really overinflated vision of itself. Like, the idea that America is the best. At everything. Wich is factually not true, but this idea also poisons the debate on many issues, and tends to limit social introspection that could lead to real advances.\n\nI've also noticed that the american basic school system is strongly patriotic. Everyone in the US is taught a lot about the US themselves in school, but not much about the rest of the world. Not great for open mindedness and introspection when you have little comparison points.\n\nAndlets not delve into the religious aspect. I've seen a poll somewhere where 48% of americans were AGAINST the separation of church and state. For me thats not only insane, its dangerous. It fits the individualistic mentality where people can more easily start thinking that their way is THE way. It creates a very polarized society much more prone to high volatility.\n\nSo, yeah, no, I wouldn't live in the US. I'd much rather stay in Canada where i don't have to worry if I get sick or hurt, if some agressive drunk idiot in a bar is armed, or if some fundamentalists from some religious congregation is gonna be able to try to politically force their point of view.

It makes me happy to see all the comments of legal immigrants to the US who are angered by this. Personally I have no issues with legal immigration from any country and I respect it and I'll break bread with you cuz your an American now like me. I think legal immigrants are a breath of fresh air and we can have some support coming from the Hispanic community against illegal immigration. Sm people think if your hard on illegal immigration your racist against Hispanics but that's not it at all. We need more legal immigrants with this mindset to help diversify the republican party and help to stop democrats from labeling it as a racist party. Now adays so many people aren't republican solely because they aren't white and think the democratic party is more favorable to anyone of color. But the republican party favors Americans period regardless of race. Illegal immigration is bad even if America was in a totally different place and bordered a white nation we still wouldn't want em in here just as much. If Canada had a curropt authoritan government and they were all illegally immigrating here than it'd be them we'd be having these disputes with. This is not a racial thing, this is about breaking the law and hurting the US economy.

growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -
