The last time there was a war between America and Canada, America invaded Canada in 1812 in order to get the gold mines. The war ended with the re-drawing of the American-Canadian border, giving America these gold mines. The area that America gave up has oil. Canada did OK out of it in the end.

Deserves the resignation of Justin Toxic weak dressing up in war costumes of 1812 Trudeau.

Funny... many many americans say they dont need canada. FAFO! This has gone too far. Look back on the war of 1812 between us and canada... and now look at the tomato clown undoing everything everyones been doing to stay allies. Hes delusional and needs to be taken out for being so god damn inhumane!

Interesting that I learned lately that in 1812 the brits burned down the white house. Those Brits settled to become Canadians. There were no winners in that war. It started over trade issues.

I stand with Canada! The country will win this war just like it won the last one against the US back in 1812.

I'm calling it... Trump is going to order the US military to seize Canadian resources, within 1 maybe 2 years. War of 1812 is back on.

As a Canadian, I didn’t vote for Trudeau but I have to hand it to him, he has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the majority of Canadians very well. Canadians are generally pretty laid back and easy going, often too polite for our own good. However, as the Americans in 1812, the Germans in WW1 and WW2, the Chinese and North Koreans in the Korean War and the Taliban in Afghanistan found out we don’t shy away from a fight when we are provoked. We will never bow down to that orange orangutang in the White House.

The Alien Enemies Act Has a Sordid Past \nThroughout this country’s history, the Act has been used to target people merely on the basis of their ancestry or nationality. The act was first used during the War of 1812 against British nationals, and later used by President Woodrow Wilson during World War I against nationals of the German Empire, Austria-Hungary, and other foreign nations. The last time this wartime authority was invoked, during World War II, lead to the incarceration of noncitizens of primarily Japanese descent – the precursor to the internment program targeting Japanese Americans – that marked one of the most shameful moments in American history. In 1988, when Congress apologized and provided reparations for Japanese internment, it acknowledged the application of the law lead to fundamental violations of the civil liberties and constitutional rights of individuals of Japanese ancestry, and that the government’s actions were motivated largely by “racial prejudice” and “a failure of political leadership.”

4:30 I've been through the education system in both countries. It's never mentioned how bad the USA got beat down by Canada in the war of 1812. You've heard of the White House right? Before Canada beat US forces back to their capital and burned it down it was called the presidential manor. Anyone that's mad that the White House is called the White House please remember that Canada did that.

My great-great-great-great-grandfather came to this country in the War of 1812 his name is Sir Colonel James Fitzgibbon. Our family Legacy is in the history books of saving Canada from being a part of the United States during that war. That is on my mother's side of the family. On my father's side of the family I am native Ojibwe Indian. So my bloodline is purely Canadian. I was raised in downtown Toronto in the seventies and eighties and the most beautifully multi-cultural city in Canada. Never have I had a problem or even thought in any way of being racist. In those days an even until very recently I never had a problem with anyone from India. I loved the culture the food and for the most part people from India have always been very polite and accepting of the Canadian culture.. but that is no longer the case. And enough is enough

“Ô Canada”... like e.g. Belgium, one of those “unnecessary countries”. Canada would never have happened if the American military officers who won the Revolutionary War of Independence against the decrepit British crown had not become incompetent degenerates and still had had their touch in 1812. But nowadays America is no better than Canada... it’s probably even worse. So if you speak more than the primitive “kitchen Russian” typical of most USSR / FSU immigrants, Russia could be exactly the place for you. Because like Canada and Belgium, the Ukraine is also basically an “unnecessary country”, or at least one that’s “too big for its britches”. And if recent events are any indication it’s about to get somewhat - perhaps a lot - smaller. So depending on where your ancestors came from, you might even be able to settle in your историческая родина... kinda cool!

Its funny how Canada was this amazing pretty cool and wholesome country I thought it was while growing up. Now that I am an adult I sometimes wish the USA would’ve won the war of 1812 and not deal with a pest of a nation for centuries

So now is the time for America to avenge the war of 1812 and liberate the Canadians from their government

I grew up in Glace Bay, NS with my White brothers and sisters, things were normal and how our founding fathers intended. It only took a few years to completely ruin this country! This isn't Canada anymore, and that is a fact. Just go to a Tim Hortons or a Walmart and you will think you're in India; for every 20 Indians you might spot 3 White people, it's insane! This is the age of the Great RESETtlement. Anyone else wish the war of 1812 went the other way? We border the most free nation on earth and an invisible line keeps us trapped in this prison. I hope the US annexes Canada some day.

I lived in the US for 4 years. I was 12 when I moved with my parents. I had a teacher who expelled me from school on my first day. I refused to do a pledge to their flag. The teacher went nuts. I said I was not pledging anything yo a flag of another country. The teacher then tried to tell me that I was lying and that Canada was a state, not a country, so I had been pledging my whole life. This was a teacher, and I did not know Canada was not part of the US. He called me a traitor and that I should be charged, then had me expelled. When I came back to Canada, I had to take an extra year of school because my grade 11 from the US was so far behind. The US school system was bizarre. The had clubs where people dressed like the military and marched around. They were taught to fire guns, and it was all part of school. They spend more time learning about their history and never learn about so much of it. It was like an oxymoron. The teacher did not know about the War of 1812, did not know that Washington was still trying to stay with in the British Crown even months before the end of their insurrection, and that Canada was a major contributor to the US moon race. It was a very confusing tome for me. Thing I had learned in elementary school, where just being taught in middle school, and other things were so far a head I did not follow like things about their Presidents. They could not spell, yet I got makered wrong for it and I found the teacher were either very nice or true demons, and they knew nothing but their own subject. I also felt like I was treated not as a student but as a criminal who had just not commented on a crime yet. Very strange.

Canadian here - I've lived and worked in NYC and graduated university from Gonzaga in Spokane. I wish the US won the war of 1812 and Canada was part of America. I think Trump is unpleasant but Trudeau is worse. The legal system here sucks. The RCMP are soldiers not police. I'd move to the US in a heartbeat. I like the gun laws there and hunting wild pigs down south would be fun. Maybe I will one day spend more time there.

The war of 1812 was fought because Canadians didn't want to be Americans. Guess who won?

4:41 ? You Russians are so much full of shite trying to create conflict between the western allies the USA and Canada!… The USA has the world’s richest economy and the most powerful military so the U.S. can destroy Canada many ways if it really wanted to!… Just imagine how unlucky Canada would be if Russia was their next door neighbor… Just Ukraine and other formerly communist countries!… So I don’t know what wars this Russian lady is talking about!… The one lie that many Canadians spread is that Canada won the War of 1812!!! … First of all, this is a blatant lie because Canada didn’t even exist in 1812 and that war with Britain ended in a stalemate. As a matter of fact, Canada didn’t become an independent country until as recently as 1982!

I don't know why USA is not trying to annex Canada. 1st USA Constitution had open invitation to join & USA tried to conquer Canada in War of 1812.

Always been friends? Thats funny because pretty sure that iff WW2 had not happened, Canada would have invaded the US as payback for the 1812 war. Because without WW2, the US never gets a war economy, all they have are riffle foot soldiers. Meanwhile Canada was already in a war economy due to its massive involvement in WW1 and viewed the US as a rival with a dangerously high population. Also in WW1 Canadian were feared for its crualty and its no mercy policies of make no prisoners, kill the surrendering, kill the wounded and their families. And right after WW1 Canada was in the perfect position fix the population problem by committing mass genocide against the US. It was really in WW2 where britain forced us to work side by side with the americans that a real friendship started between the US and Canada.

Yeah no, the US and Canada weren’t always friends. Not that I don’t want them to be but it’s just historically wrong. *War of 1812 noises*
