As an American, I stand with Canada. We have the biggest dumb ass bully as our president and it’s shameful. The people who voted for that orange turd can suffer. It’s so dumb to impose tariffs on our closest allies. Ordinary Americans will suffer because of this.

I'm a Canadian. I am trying to wrap my head around why a President would start a trade war by imposing tariffs that hurt their allies and hurt his own people..!? I am not an economist nor an investor; However I found it interesting that the immediate result of this as they corresponded about this news is how the markets are taking a major dive. If I wanted to make money off the stock market and had no morals and had the power to cause it to crash, I would make sure it crashed hard by imposing tariffs. Then I would invest as many billions in the key stocks that will come back, and watch my billions turn into 10's or 100's of billions...\nThe other possible explanation could simply be that he wants all the critical minerals from Canada, Greenland, Ukraine for nothing. Taking those minerals for free and selling electric cars, miliatary equipment, etc. would be most profitable!\nBut greed seems to know no bounds for those who are wealthy, as long as it's at their gain and not at their expense!

As long as Trump and his administration align themselves to dictators and impose outrageous tariffs on our allies and head toward an authoritarian government, all countries from the free world need to fight back against these unfair tariffs being imposed by the Trump administration. New torch bearers for the free world and the unified free world needs to decouple from an undependable, disloyal, Trump led US. Trump is tarnishing the legacy of the US in real time.

Why trump sides with Putin and impose tariffs on US allies?
2025-03-04 0
I love Canada. Trudeau is just doing what he has to do. I harbor no ill will for Canada or the tariffs they will impose on us. The Felon fucked up and tried to look tough and Trudeau called him on it. Trump is a Russian asset and a traitor. The Republicans own this as well. We turned our back on our allies and now we have to stand alone. Russia will not help us. Trump needs to be impeached before our country is destroyed.

As an American, I am appalled by Trump’s actions. I, for one, agree that his reasons for imposing tariffs is a lie. I strongly disagree with his blatant disregard for America’s allies. There is NO justification for aligning the US with Putin. If he thinks Putin has our interests in mind, he is crazy! Before it’s too late, I hope that his cabinet, the house, and senate realize that they can no longer support a president who does not support our interests as a country.

I never thought I would be more supportive of a government imposing tariffs on us than my own government, but hey Trump aligning the US with Putin and starting unnecessary and harmful trade wars with our allies is moronic and treasonous. The GOP used to be the party of free trade. That was literally their main plank for 40 years, and an idiot comes along who doesn't understand basic facts, such as how tariffs work, imposes them willynilly and vindictively, and the spine-challenged Congress rolls over without so much as a whimper. Meanwhile, an illegal immigrant from South Africa fires the people looking after our nuclear weapons, because he's also an idiot. And their fans lap up their clear treasonous acts.

The USA is loosing his nearest allies this way by imposing tariffs and by siding with the enemy Putin. Trump is also alienating his own people by destroying the USA from within.

Imposing tariffs on Allies and lifting sanction for ruSSia.\nAt least now it's clear on what side of History USA is on today...

So basically Trudeau is saying Trump is imposing these tariffs for no reason? I doubt that, and look at how the so called allies are turning against the USA so easily. Good thing we don’t need them.

Wait, doesn’t he realize that destroying our institutions, safety and health, firing hundreds of thousands of Americans, stealing their private data, and social security, destroying the economy and our global security…and now, imposing insane tariffs on our allies to further destroy our economy is all destroying people’s lives, the economy and our democracy? Uhmm, YEAH, THATS THE F__KING POINT. But you’re definitely not going to glean that from corporate news media.

I'm a born Canadian and i'm BAFFLED at how you would turn around and impose tariffs on your closest ally. Canada and the US had a relationship that was built on trust co-operation and trillions of dollars and it means nothing to their current president. I used to be a fan of Trump, but the recent situation with Zelensky along with the tariffs i can see more and more that having him back in office was a huge mistake. Trump obviously doesn't care about how the tariffs affect his country and his people because he responded by threatening to raise the tariffs in retaliation to Canada's response.

Trump is lifting sanctions on Russia and imposing sanctions on allies, via tariffs.

Why are we imposing tariffs upon not only a border nation but an ally? I can see doing this to China somewhat but Canada?

Norway stand with you Canada in support, you held a good speech??!\n\nI look forward to seeing the outcome of the tariffs the U.S. imposes on other countries, which are then retaliated against. When the U.S. imposes tariffs on other countries and those countries retaliate, it can lead to several negative consequences. First, American consumers may face higher prices on both imported and domestic goods affected by retaliatory tariffs. U.S. exporters could lose market share in key markets, and American companies relying on global supply chains may experience higher costs. This could also trigger trade wars, reducing global trade and hindering economic growth. Increased uncertainty may reduce investments in the U.S., and in the long term, the U.S. could lose economic influence if other countries form alternative trade agreements. Countries turning their backs on the U.S. will eventually lead to the U.S. isolating itself. We can continue to trade among ourselves, build growth together, and watch the U.S. crumble from the outside. By the way i also respect and love the American people, just not the goverment today and how they treat others, allies and friends.

The question that needs to be asked is what’s Trump’s moneymaking angle on imposing tariffs. Trump only does stuff where he personally can make money. Somebody or some group or entity is paying him somehow to impose tariffs on America’s main trading partner and ally. That’s the only way this makes any sense.

As a Marine Corps Veteran, a die hard patriot to the USA, and as a Trump Supporter; I do not support this. We shouldn't Impose tariffs on one of our closest allies. It should also be stated I'm not a fan of Trudeau at all, but I commend him for helping out with the fentanyl situation. Also I don't like how Trump is Siding with Russia. However I do understand his stance on not wanting to continue to send Money to Ukraine to keep the war going on longer, As we have sent them Billions of Dollars in the last three years. However as a US citizen I also have to state the the US has a history of supporting countries that were invaded in the past, which we have done up to this point in Ukraine. Correct me if I'm Wrong, but when have we just stopped supporting the invaded country and sided with the Invading country?

Why does he continue to provoke the US president? He resigned and rather step down with dignity, he chooses cause as much damage before he leaves. Justin Trudeau bears full responsibility for the burdens Canadians now face. He imposed and continually increased the carbon tax, draining the pockets of hardworking citizens while offering little in return. He neglected Canada’s NATO commitments, failing to uphold our obligations on the world stage. His tenure has been marred by repeated ethical scandals, each one a testament to his disregard for integrity in leadership. \n\nNow, as the weight of his missteps comes full circle, he faces the consequences of his own policies. The economic strain he placed on his own people is now mirrored in the tariffs and pressures from the United States—a reckoning of his own making. And even in his resignation, rather than stepping aside with dignity, he continues to provoke President Trump with baseless rhetoric, further endangering Canada’s relationship with its greatest ally. \n\nTrudeau’s legacy will not be one of progress, but of division, economic hardship, and lost opportunities. And now, he reaps what he has sown.

Will you protect your border? No. So, we imposed a tariff. Twenty hours later. Ok we will protect the border. Thats an ally? I don’t think so.

Imposing tariffs and endangering free trade is the same as denying climate change or engaging in anti-vaccine nonsense. It is unscientific and will harm those engaging in those fallacies - most likely with higher inflation in the US. Trump imposes 25% on his partners, neighbours and allies and only 10% on China. That tells you a lot.

Serious question, WHY is trump imposing tariffs on our allies?
2025-02-02 0
The most stupidest economic policies I have ever seen. Imposing tariffs on allies , pushing them away and creating animosity, unbelievable. China is leaking her chops.

Read this American Trump is destroying your Contry if not he gets remove\n\nExplanation of Article 5\nArticle 5 of the NATO treaty is the cornerstone of the alliance's collective defense principle. It states that an attack on one NATO member is considered an attack on all members. This mutual defense clause has been invoked only once—after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.\n\nThe United States is bound by Article 5, meaning it cannot disregard its obligations to other NATO members, such as Denmark. The principle ensures that all members protect and support each other, creating collective security.\n\nWho Pays for Tariffs?\nA tariff is a tax or duty imposed on imported goods. There’s often confusion about who ultimately pays for tariffs. Here are the key points:\n\nImporters Pay Tariffs: When goods cross a border, the importer in the receiving country is charged the tariff.\nHigher Prices for Consumers: Importers typically pass these costs to consumers, making goods more expensive in the country imposing the tariffs.\nImpact on Competitiveness: While tariffs can make domestic goods more competitive, they often harm the economy by reducing trade and innovation.\nFor example, if the U.S. imposes high tariffs on European goods, American consumers and businesses bear the cost through higher prices, not European producers.\n\nTrade and Alliances\nThe text highlights the interconnectedness of trade policy and diplomacy. Harmful trade policies, such as aggressive tariffs, can damage relationships with long-standing allies like Denmark and the EU. If the U.S. alienates its allies, it risks losing the strategic partnerships and security benefits provided by NATO and other agreements.\n\nDenmark and other EU countries offer trade opportunities but expect respect and cooperation in return. Breaking ties with the EU or NATO could leave the U.S. isolated and weaken its global influence.\n\nConclusion\nArticle 5 ensures mutual security within NATO, including for the U.S.\nTariffs often hurt the country imposing them, as costs are passed to domestic consumers.\nStrong alliances are critical for both trade and security. Conflicts with EU or NATO countries could isolate the U.S. and undermine its global partnerships.
