Yes, Canada’s asylum system is currently facing intense scrutiny due to record-high claim volumes and allegations of systemic fraud. THE SCALE OF THE PROBLEM Backlog Explosion: The inventory of pending asylum claims has surged significantly, reaching approximately 300,000 active cases as of late 2025. Rising Claim Volumes: Annual claims reached a record 190,000 in 2024, though they decreased by about a third in early 2025 following new policy measures. Removal Gap: Criticisms have been raised regarding the low rate of deportations; reports indicate that 86% of rejected claimants remain in Canada. SOURCES OF "BOGUS" CLAIMS International Student Surge: There has been an "alarming trend" of international students claiming asylum to remain in the country after their study permits expire or in response to new caps on student visas. Fraud Networks: Investigations have highlighted vulnerabilities where unauthorized agents and transnational fraud networks counsel migrants to submit fabricated narratives or forged documents. "Rubber-Stamping" Allegations: A recent report by the C.D. Howe Institute warned that a paper-based "fast-track" system for certain high-risk countries may be bypassing essential security screenings and in-person questioning. ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPACT Healthcare Costs: The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), which provides medical benefits to claimants, saw its budget jump from roughly $66 million to over $1 billion annually. Policy Shift: To reduce incentives for non-genuine claims, the government is introducing a co-pay system for supplementary health services (like dental and vision) starting May 1, 2026. CONSEQUENCES OF FRAUD For individuals, filing a "bogus" or misrepresented claim carries severe penalties: A five-year ban from entering or remaining in Canada. Permanent record of fraud with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Loss of current temporary or permanent resident status

The government was lying all along. The influx of these migrants are a net loss for Canadians. We don’t need 2.9 million to come change our society. It’s almost 8% of our total population. They are here to replace us, not to strengthen us.

Making Indigenous languages official in Canada faces struggles due to the deep, ongoing impact of colonization (residential schools, assimilation policies), the sheer number of endangered languages (over 70), lack of constitutional protection like English/French have, funding gaps, and challenges implementing legislation like the Indigenous Languages Act effectively, despite strong community efforts for revitalization. The core issue is moving beyond mere documentation to ensuring effective support for daily use, education, and government services, a goal hindered by historical trauma and systemic neglect.  Key Struggles & Challenges: Colonial Legacy: Policies like the Indian Act and residential schools suppressed languages, causing massive loss, with trauma still affecting intergenerational transmission. Constitutional Gap: Unlike English and French, Indigenous languages lack explicit, strong constitutional rights (e.g., in the Charter) for government services, as noted in this article from indigenouswatchdog.org. Urgency & Scarcity: Most of Canada's 70+ Indigenous languages are endangered, with many facing imminent extinction, requiring immediate action from the last fluent elders. Implementation of Legislation: The Indigenous Languages Act (2019) aims to support revitalization, but it's criticized for being non-binding and not creating effective rights, meaning legal recognition doesn't always translate to real-world resources or services. Funding & Resource Gaps: While funding exists, it's often insufficient, limited in scope, or not reaching grassroots efforts effectively, making comprehensive revitalization difficult. Integration Challenges: Integrating Indigenous languages into education (K-12, higher ed) and public services (health, justice) remains a significant hurdle, even where there's political will, as seen in territories with official Indigenous languages.

English and French colonization had a devastating and intentional impact on the Indigenous languages of Canada, leading to the severe endangerment and, in some cases, extinction of many languages. This was achieved through explicit colonial policies aimed at cultural assimilation and the suppression of Indigenous identities.  Key Impacts of Colonization Forced Assimilation via Residential Schools: The most significant factor in language loss was the government-funded, church-run residential school system, which operated from the 19th century to the late 20th century. Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families and communities and sent to these schools. Punishment for Speaking Native Tongues: In the schools, children were forbidden to speak their Indigenous languages and were often subjected to severe physical, emotional, and sexual abuse if they did. Intergenerational Trauma and Knowledge Loss: The experience in residential schools caused profound trauma. Survivors often did not teach their children their traditional languages, partly out of fear of punishment and partly because their own fluency had been impacted, which inhibited the languages from being passed to the next generation. Discriminatory Legislation: The Indian Act: This legislation, along with other colonial policies, was used to suppress Indigenous cultural expression, including language. Official Languages Act: Canada's official language policies recognize only English and French as dominant languages, effectively marginalizing the over 60 distinct Indigenous languages that existed on the land long before European settlement. Dispossession of Land: Forcible removal of Indigenous communities from their traditional lands and onto reserves disrupted the deep connection between language, culture, and the natural environment. Indigenous languages often encode unique knowledge about local ecosystems, which was lost when communities were displaced. Social Stigmatization: Colonial ideologies viewed Indigenous cultures and languages as "inferior" or "savage," promoting English and French as the languages of "modernity" and "progress". This created a social hierarchy where speaking an Indigenous language could be a barrier to education and employment opportunities in the dominant society.  Current Situation and Revitalization Efforts The legacy of these policies has resulted in low numbers of fluent Indigenous language speakers today, with many languages considered endangered or critically endangered. However, there are significant ongoing efforts toward language revitalization.  The Canadian federal government passed the Indigenous Languages Act in 2019, which aims to support the efforts of Indigenous peoples to reclaim, revitalize, maintain, and strengthen their languages. Indigenous communities, educational institutions, and organizations are actively working to preserve languages through immersion programs, community initiatives, and documentation. UNESCO has declared 2022 to 2032 the International Decade of Indigenous Languages to draw global attention to the urgent need for preservation and promotion.

No need to use any type of division when equating the amount of job losses to the influx of immigrants... The sum of this is _resentment_

Experiencing a loss of respect after discovering his racist approach.
2026-01-29 0
I’m actually appalled at the racism in this video. People have a right to search for a better life for themselves. Why do you think white people ended up in Canada in the first place? It’s not their country. Immigrants are typically highly educated and pay Canada exorbitant amounts of money to move here and/or go to school here. They also take a loss because most of the time their university degrees are not recognized in this country. They swallow their pride and take jobs beneath them. Immigrants bring value to this country. They’re extremely intelligent and hard working. In my 34 years living here not once have I seen ANY Indians or Africans in shelters or on the streets.

Notice how they r all from Punjab & hardly from anywhere else in India, btw Pakistan also has the other half of Punjab...these r people with agenda or agendas... Justin Trudeau cozyed up to these "khalistani" who want to create their own nation khalistan in India or maybe Canada...god alone knows, his father also cozyed up to them which led to the hijacking of Air India flight 423 forced to land in Lahore Pakistan instead of Amritsar India. Air India Flight 182 was a scheduled international flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport (as Air India Flight 181) to Sahar International Airport with regular Mirabel-London-Delhi stops. On the morning of June 23, 1985, the Boeing 747-237B[note 1] serving the route exploded near the coast of Ireland from a bomb planted by Sikh terrorists.[1][2][3] All 329 people on board were killed including 268 Canadian citizens, 27 British citizens, and 22 Indian citizens.[4] The bombing of Air India Flight 182 is the worst terrorist attack in Canadian history and was the world's deadliest act of aviation terrorism until the September 11 attacks in 2001. It remains the deadliest aviation incident in the history of Air India, and the deadliest no-survivor hull loss of a single Boeing 747 (from Wikipedia) The Sikhs shouldn't be mistaken for khalistanis, the khalistanis r a splinter group led by radicals who indoctrinate young sikh towards their khalistani believes & r supported, funded & controlled to some extent by the ISI of Pakistan. Edit: the Canadian government & other officials should take strict actions against any illegal immigrants & monitor the activities of these "khalistanis" because they seem to be gathering strength...sooner or later this will come back to bite Canada in the rear end...

**What European settlers and colonial systems did to Canadian Indigenous women:** * Sexual violence against Canadian Indigenous women with little or no legal consequence. * Forced domestic labor and exploitation. * Loss of legal status for women who married non-Indigenous men (under the Indian Act). * Destruction of matriarchal leadership structures. * Ignored disappearances and murders of Canadian Indigenous women. * Forced and coerced sterilizations without consent. **What they did to Canadian Indigenous children:** * Forced removal from families into residential schools. * Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. * Bans on speaking Indigenous languages or practicing culture. * Malnutrition, medical neglect, and unsafe living conditions. * Deaths of children, many buried in unmarked graves. * Forced labor presented as “education.” **What they did to Canadian Indigenous men and leaders:** * Arrested, jailed, or killed leaders who resisted land theft. * Criminalized traditional governance systems. * Restricted movement with passes and permits. * Destroyed livelihoods by banning hunting and fishing. **What they did to Canadian Indigenous families and communities:** * Broke families apart through child removal policies. * Forced relocations to poor, remote land. * Starvation through controlled food rations. * Banned ceremonies, gatherings, and spiritual practices. * Chronic underfunding of housing, water, healthcare, and education. **What they did to Canadian Indigenous nations overall:** * Stole land without consent. * Broke, ignored, or manipulated treaties. * Imposed the Indian Act to control daily life. * Attempted to erase languages, cultures, and identities. * Created intergenerational trauma that continues today. These are established historical facts recognized by Canadian courts, survivor testimony, and national inquiries. Naming them accurately matters, because clarity is the first step toward truth.

Let's be real, about this nation called Canada where real native canadians were "First Nations, Metis & Inuit" they were the ones as Indigenious people who inhabited canada for thousand of years ago & later demographic shift could later be seen during 16th century from European colonization where majority of french and british invaded with consistent colonization & took control of the land, these settlers, along with later European immigrants, seized indigenous land, displaced indigenous communities, and brought diseases that decimated native populations. Long story short now, based on 2021 census data shows native canadian population make up to only 5% of total Canadian population whereas the rest remaining are non-indigenous people of Canada at above 90% are foreign invaders from 16th century who came as an opportunist and occupied everything; same as Indian they came took the opportunity by working hard, contributing to the nation yet, you people here crying, complaining & bragging abt these & that abt Indian's bt let's not forget "Europeans" are the ones who did the dirtiest things characterized by forced assimilation, abusive residential school system, and loss of land. Please explain this from a liberal perspective, how was it fair for Indigenous people of Canada?? compared to Indian Standards.

No Indians or for that matter any other community enter Canada and choose to live their lives here if the Governments doesn't allow that. Please also acknowledge the fact that so many well educated Indians are coming here which is a huge brain drain and capital loss for India itself , just because it is not able to provide better job opportunities there. Now they are coming with different cultural background with English not as their first language. But they settle down here for long term and contribute to the economy of this country. Don't hate them, they have done nothing wrong
2025-10-01 0
I think Canada tends to bear the fraud loss being intangible but on the other hand these schools or colleges receive money from foreign students to sustain economy which makes them Golden goose and they cant kill it. But yes students should be screened at border if they cant speak in English and passed Ielts (fraudulently). Mark them high risk there as that is where the fraud starts.

As someone who is born in Canada as an Indian. This is absolutely sad to here. I want the best for Canadians who are born and raised here. I have 10 years of experience working in the nation I was raised and I am having some people have my job who aren't even fit for the job. It makes no sense to me. Our wages have stalled due to international students for a better life, but at the end I want money just like other Canadians who have been here for ages. Also we need to end why our government allows lucrative hiring contracts overseas for cheaper positions in certain degrees and diplomas. In addition, why are all of our call centers placed all over the world. From Africa, south east Asia, South Asia. Those jobs can be available here. We can have a decomcratic country if our country didn't care about just "growth" we didn't need more immigration. We needed systematic change in government, schools, common sense, I could go on. I think us as Canadians don't know how corrupt the world really is. Look at other countries and how they work. It's lucrative essentives to benefit only certain people. I would rather have our tax payer money be used to fix the system. My dad's been here since the 1980s and he is sad for everyone. This is a loss on both ends. We didn't create new universities, new highways to support the population, no hospitals, new schools. I remember when my class sizes were 18 to 20 kids. We need change, not radical because we were never that. Let's do what we do best and be Canadians for us first.

These are the same pack of bloated bureaucrats that didn't have answers the last couple of times over the years, including Aiesha Zafar. Guess working from home most of the time from your bed only 1 hour a day really has memory loss benefits. Working from home but still charging taxpayers over $2500+ travel expenses every month of the year for every bureaucrat in that panel.

They came on fraudulent student visas, with lies, those who had legal student visas, perfectly knew that there are steps towards immigration. Those who had fake visas, also perfectly knew the fact and pretended to be innocent with lies. Instead of following regulations, they started rioting in city squares, in city parks, making noise, throwing garbage. "Halt on Deportations: In response to the scandal, the Canadian government paused the deportation of the implicated students to investigate the situation further and consider alternative solutions.  Review of Cases:A process was put in place to review the cases of the affected students, particularly those who were victims of the fraud.  Fake Admissions:The students obtained their Canadian visas through a fraudulent agent who provided fake admission offers from Humber College, leading to their entry into the country.  Loss of Status:Upon discovering the fake letters, the students were deemed to have lost their study permit status, making them subject to deportation by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).  Political Pressure:The New Democratic Party (NDP) in Canada called on the government to not deport these students, highlighting their exploitation and the circumstances under which they were brought to Canada.  Crackdown on Scammers:The government and authorities also began cracking down on the agents and fraudulent institutions that facilitated this scam, as the students were often unaware of the forged nature of their documents, according to the Canadian Federation of Students.  Advocacy for Students:Organizations and Members of Parliament (MPs) called on the government to show leniency towards the students, highlighting their victim status and advocating for waivers of deportation.

It's so tragic to see this video. It's a loss of Canadian culture. This happened in my hometown of London, England. I moved to Sydney, Australia, and since the start of the pandemic, the country has been flooded with Indians. I no longer want to live in what feels like Mumbai and am considering moving to Portugal.

British immigrant here in Brampton, I wish I could find a doctor who speaks English first, regardless of the colour of their skin. I imagine the satisfaction of immigrants hearing their own language in a doctor's office but I am unable to articulate the loss of understanding what I'm hearing through a thick accent

We are all immigrants other than the indigenous and Inuit. My father’s family can be traced back to 1538. He is French Canadian and native. My mom was an Irish American from Cleveland Ohio. This country has changed so much. I am at a loss. We need to speak out our opinions. I have lived here all over Canada, all my life. Why can we open up the the immigration doors when we did not have the infrastructure. It was insane. It hurt the original Canadians. The migrants are treated special. There should not be kickbacks. The govt has created this racism by giving immigrants priviliges

Americans are about to have massive job loss.
2025-03-05 0
Lol, what a dummy. Doesn't her know that that doesn't work that way? Sure go ahead and go for it, america accounts for almost 80% of Canada's total goods and service exports ? what makes this even more worse for Canada's prime minister is the fact that they recieve just over 60% of imports from guess who.... the United States. Where as america has the ability to stop all trade to canada all together, be just fine with the reserves we have. While increasing trade import and export with another country we already do business with, making them very happy in the process and still making huge savings in the process. When 80% and 60% of your exports and imports respectively. Consists of literally sharing its only common border with the united states would mean a complete scrap of the total infrastructure since they would hace then compensate through sea and air through the arctic and distances of 10x of what they are used to. Then it starts to make sense as to why trump wants Greenland. Look this it just a bluff by the Canadian prime minister that supposedly resigned not long ago but his tyrant ass don't really wanna leave. Plus, you really think dude can make up for all that loss and go find it through another contry? Hahaha? yeah okay good luck with that. Canada shoukd ne disappointed in the man even more. He's not for you, he's for himself and the best for him and the other lobbyists. ???

I think Americans need to prepare themselves for a hostile take over by Trump, replacing democracy with dictatorship, his version of Gilead ? the loss of their freedoms and the possibility of WWIII between America aligning with Russia, China and North Korea against the rest of the world. WTF were the voters thinking? I am horrified and feel for you all.

AI:\nIn the short term, tariffs may bring some economic and political benefits to the U.S. However, in the long run, they could lead to higher prices, job losses in export industries, and deteriorating relations with an important trading partner. Economists, including Nobel laureates such as Paul Krugman and Joseph Stiglitz, have traditionally criticized protectionist measures for their harmful effects on the economy in the long term.
2025-03-05 0
Canada could consider offsetting losses inflicted by the new tariffs by reducing border control spending, allowing the USA to cover the costs.

Trump is the man, Trudeau is a eunuch. Suck it up Liberals, let NATO enjoy the loss! They deserve every loss that is coming their way. I support strong Republicans and the USA unconditionally. Let Canada become the 51st as soon as possible!
2025-03-04 0
What Trump is doing is collecting money from these tariffs, while at the same time bringing certain industries back to the United States. These tariffs will not be permanent but will remain for a certain period to encourage companies to relocate. He runs his country like a business, he doesn’t care if there are job losses elsewhere.\n\nCanada and Mexico will have to adjust and start becoming less dependent on the United States. It will be difficult for Canada because we are a consumer country, we manufacture almost nothing. TSMC is moving to the U.S., his plan is working, and other companies will follow.\n\nHere in Canada, we import a huge amount of American products. We absolutely need to change our habits, we should not support a country that wants to see us fail.

Black face Trudeau is a loser. Woke policies and liberal failures has resulted in his complete loss of confidence from his own party. Can you say loser!

My elderly aunt and uncle used to winter in Florida until he fell and broke his hip. Another aunt had to drive down there pick them up and drive back to get medical attention. The next year a hurricane took out there home and had to sell at a loss

Trump launch this trade war hoping to make Canada a new US‘s State, so he just treats those losses as the costs, he thinks these costs are just much much cheaper than launching military invasion!

It is absolutely a shame what the United States is doing now. I want to leave this country and I was born and raised here . I have been a proud American a proud African-American woman. I am appalled and ashamed I was born and raised in Detroit right across from Canada so I am very close\n\nwith people that live in Canada and it’s a part of my history. I am at a loss for words. I hope that we can do something to stop this dictator. this liar, this cheater, this imposter.

This looks like a scorned man (trump) taking a scorched earth approach because of his loss last election
2025-03-04 0
Canadian here. We helped America in 1980 by saving American diplomatic staff from captivity in Tehran. We suffered the loss of Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. This is how we are paid back. The Trump Regime won a election with just 1.7% of the vote. Trump is becoming enemy number 1 in the free world. Stand up Americans against this horrible MEGA regime before your freedoms and liberty disappear.
2025-03-04 0
Canada has always been crucial for US's economy and vice-versa. Only suffering and loss will come out of all this. At least Canada has Europe, Australia, and Most Asian countries. Trump has Putin and the fat tyrant from N. Korea

HERE IS THE TRUTH OF THIS - ASK WHO STANDS TO GAIN IF WE LOSS AND CANADA LOSSES? - BUSINESS THAT WILL BUY UP BUSINESSES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BORDER! NOTHING NEW HERE TO UNDERSTAND - FOLLOW THE MONEY. TANK THE MARKET THEN BUY LOW - BACK OFF IN A FEW DAYS AND SELL WHEN IT RETURNS TO NORMAL PRICES.. THIS IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A CASH GRAB... WATCH THEM GET FAT WHILE YOU SUFFER... LOSE JOBS. IT IS PAYBACK TO SUPPORTS, RUSSIA AND THE BILLION BUNCH... THEY WIN - YOU LOSE... I FEEL VERY SORRY FOR US ALL TODAY AND I DO MEAN ALL OF US. THOSE THAT VOTED FOR HIM DO NOT DESERVE THIS EITHER. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU REPAY LOYALTY. ?

Donald thinks he is running a business with profit and loss. Does he reliaze that by increasing Tariffs he is hurting Americans? Eventually, Canada will find other markets to sell their products.
2025-03-04 0
My recommendation for Canada is to trade and work closely with China and Mexico. It could raise more jobs and minimize the loss from the trade war.
