I feel like a foreigner in Toronto for sure, especially my area. The Indian population skyrocketed when Trudeau decided to solve one problem by creating another (I'm being polite here). Good riddance to him, but the problems remains, bringing with it cockroaches and bedbugs (the latter of which was not a problem until their arrival.. just sayin'...). Fortunately for me I can afford to live in a more affluent area, but I see what is happening. Every.. and I mean EVERY service here... is now run by Indians. I'm not a racist.. but I AM a classist (and saying what we are all thinking), and the class that came over in droves the last 10 years are turning this place into the slum they came from.

This all makes me very sad within the last 10 years because it's not what I grew up with and loved 😢 I grew up with multiculturalism enriching my childhood. Learning from different cultures at friends dinners and other different friends houses and attending eastern-themed event from all different parts of the East. There was so much to learn just in my own country from other people from other countries it was fascinating !!! I was in niagara ontario last weekend and back in October. Its all indian, i mean 7 out of 10 people were indian, store and resturant owners, employees, tourists, residents all indians, very very few whites or english being spoken. Hoho do i have a story to tell you. I rented out part of my shop to east indians. Cabinet shop. They had 5 guys. Turned out they were all on student visas but they worked minday to saturday 10 hours a day. I came here 25 years ago from India. While growing up, I would go to the terrace of my home and turn the antenna to get Cbc at night. I watched Air Farce One, the green show, NFB and Cbc and was always fascinated with Canada. I knew then when I was 20 that I will make Canada home. I wrote my IELTS ENGLISH test, studied here with good grades. And I did. I have an amazing career and young kids. And I have loved everyday of it. Australia ended it's birth right citizen in 1981. Now, the babies born here have to have at least 1 parent who is a citizen or PR, in order to be a citizen. If both parents are not citizens, the child automatically becomes a citizen when the child turns 10 and both parents become citizens too, but the parents have to have some kind of work visa, Student visa, or some kind of visa that allows them to stay and work here. I'm also an immigrant, been in Canada for 16 years, came here initially for uni. It's funny that I have no negative feelings towards immigrants from any other countries but India. And I didn't have any negative feeling toward them before I came to Canada, if anything, I only remember something positive my grandma telling me about Indian people being beautiful, that they have big beautiful eyes. After I came to Canada, over the years, based on countless personal experiences dealing with them, sadly my conclusion is 99% of them are bad, 1% are the exception. They are aggressive, rude, stinky, unhygienic, dishonest, always trying to take financial advantage of people or situations to save a few more bucks by being super annoying or cheating, extremely disrespectful and aggressive towards women!! Really nothing is appealing about them. And at a job position, 1 Indian will bring 10 Indians, 10 will bring 100, they are slowly encroaching the environment and taking over everything. Other races try to assimilate into the local culture, while the Indians are imposing theirs onto the local and other cultures. Canada feels like it's turning into a second India. I was visiting when I felt sick. I came home asap. Turned out I had a tumour on my brain stem. Thankfulness. 4 surgical teams, 10 hr surgery, 1wk in hosp, months of homecare, rehab and follow up mri and care. Yikes. My sis moved down in 1976, was good when she was in her 30’s while she worked. Her husband, American, went off on Canadian disability and once my sister retired their healthcare costs were crazy. They moved to a state that had better senior med care. I was visiting four yrs ago. My sis had several hosp visits due to heart issues. She ended up having open heart surgery. The hospital was lovely. Care was great. Pt care room was huge. I was used to tight icu cubicles. She had complications, day 4 the social worker came to tell her she was being discharged the next day. Her insurance had run out. There was no further coverage!!! She was in her 80’s had just had a stent blow thru her R coronary artery 5 days earlier then have bypass surgery and had just come off a ventilator the day before. I had to get back to Canada the next day. Thankfully, the social worker was able to continue working to find respite care at a nursing home for her for a couple more wks. \n\nI love certain parts of the states having spent a majority of my childhood visiting since my big sister moved there. I work in small towns across Canada and over the years, I’ve seen these charming towns, such as a Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Meadow Lake Saskatchewan, turn into Punjab . And sadly as much as the Punjabi culture is fascinating, Punjabi people do not have Canadian ways, nor are they skilled in our national languages, which makes it very difficult for Canadians to interact with them, or get served by them at the service jobs. Just ordering a coffee at Tim Hortons. It has become stressful. Nine out of 10 times I’ll get the order wrong because of language barriers. I am all for multiculturalism, but there is no more Canadian identity left in Canada.

I think you were surprized how much you enjoyed to exploration of Russia a few years ago but quality of life was very good then but even better now, but retaining the unmatched access to culture, very low cost of living much lower crime rate than Canada/US/Europe, and cost of living about 1/10th of Canada, great health and easy to get a residency and citizenship due to being from Ukraine originally. For your travels, it is a little more complicated due to US sanctions but from here in St Petersburg it is really easy to travel by bus to Estonia and fly anywhere in the world. Estonia is the cheapest cost of living in the Baltic. I grew up in Canada..Calgary to be more specific. I have now been away for 10 years, living in Chile. I go visit every couple of years and I understand completely, id have a hard time moving back. Maybe for people who have arrived in the last few years it seems fine, but for the rest of us that remeber how it was 15, 20 or 30 years ago..its a shocking change. The big cities are full of drugs and homeless, which increases crime. Its expensive and good jobs are hard to come by. It seems to me 2015 was the turning point and only these last 2 or 3 years are Canadians realizing the mess that has been created.

We are in the process of leaving Canada as well. Possibly permanent. We have come to Canada 22 years ago. We can live a good life with even one minimum wage when we first arrived Canada. It was a dream land for everybody. Today, we are double income professionals in Saskatchewan and still feel living standard is poor. Grocery price is 5 or 10 times as when we first come to Canada. However, salary of average family barely increase. The spending of government is just out of control and make everybody poor. Canada is on a rapid downhill path since Justin Trudeau become Premier Minister, I can't see this trend can be turned back in a short time.
