I'm no expert, but it's obvious that mass immigration is detrimental to any country. Years ago, Canada seemed like a dream country, but in the last few years, it looks like the homelessness, crime etc. has increased and the housing prices are insane. I have a Sikh friend who lived there for about 5 years but moved back to India due to the high cost of living and quality of life there going downhill. He has a much better, low stress life back home. I think there should be stricter measures to immigration. For example: Let doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers in more easily, but those that are coming as students and going to work as cashiers, should be limited.

I'm not an expert by any stretch but I think what America is trying to do is, by doing this, force the US market to start up working again, America can make 90% of everything it needs. \n\nThink about WW2. America wasn't reliant on world trade or manufacturing. Quite the opposite actually.\n\nOnly thing that makes sense to me.

I think it depends on the individual . I'm no expert, but if a man or woman is fit to serve, and wants to serve, why limit yourself to just men ? If there were a draft, would you want your son serve because he was made to, or would you want someone that signed up because it's their dream to serve? I'd serve with Cmd. Local here, born and raised in BC. As much as I love our country and history, I don't see myself being able to live here in the future. Real estate is the driving factor for the economy and with those housing/COL prices going up, I won't even be able to afford a split mortgage even if I had a steady 6 figure job. I don't want to leave Canada but I'm being indirectly forced to by the current Liberal government. Sure, our dollar was tanking before Trudeau enter power, but while he has been in power, it has barely changed and now is very close to reaching the same values we had in the Covid pandemic. Experts are estimating it to even go below that. It is not a good time to be a Canadian.

It's interesting how Republican politicians rely on their uneducated ill-informed constituents to tell them what to do, like they are Rice Krispies talking in God's voice. Sometimes, as a lifelong politician who should be an expert at understanding international policies, sometimes you have to 'splain something to the unwashed, if it's going to hurt them. It's your job to protect them, not do everything they want you to do. If you see them pushing for something that will hurt them, it is the Republican politician's job to inform their constituents that they are doing something harmful to themselves. Have a spine. Oh wait, I'm talking to a Trumper Republican.

You should do more expert interviews, and less internet searches for your researches. When it comes to macro scale, the cost of things (or concentration) is at a scale that feels very off for normal people. Many numbers cited are just dumb...5 big banks are most of financial industry is absolutely normal globally (as far as banking goes). And thay is NOT the reason for anything. High wage, cost of money, regulatory cost is probably the reason. You can check their net profit / net margin to see if it in fact squeezes high interest on consumer or not. I'm pretty certain it won't be different from global mean.

I suggest viewers take a look at StatsCan’s crime severity index which confirms that Ontario is the safest province or territory in Canada (safer than PEI lol). There are also scores for cities and Toronto is safer than almost every other Canadian city, safer than even Ottawa or Calgary, twice as safe as Vancouver, nearly three times safer than Winnipeg. If we start comparing to US cities, it would be even more shocking. Suffice to say, Toronto is not only safe, but it’s the safest major city in Canada and one of the safest major cities on earth. \n\nThe homelessness crisis has certainly gotten a lot worse, sadly. As has the cost of living, but you get what you pay for.\n\nHaving travelled to 35 countries (doesn’t mean I’m an expert, but I have some experiences in other places), I respectfully disagree and think Toronto is one of the greatest cities. It’s one of the greenest cities in this continent, safe, on the lake, super close to other major cities, great infrastructure (relative to Canadian cities anyway), it’s beautiful and there’s a ton to do, not to mention the diversity. \n\nDon’t be turned off by this, if you can afford it, it’s one of the best places you could live on this planet.

I'm not an immigration expert or an economist, but the problem with Canada isn't our immigration system, but WHAT the immigrants do afterwards. Sure, we take in hundreds of thousands of them...but for what jobs? Is Canada, for example, a truly dynamic tech hub? At one point yes, but only briefly and it seems like that process has stalled out considerably since the pandemic.\nDo we have the infrastructure for all of these people or are we adding hundreds of thousands of new competitors for housing? We have population growth, but the wages are so uncompetitive that it increasingly feels like Canada is inviting immigrants in to build the country...but Canadians have to create things for them to build or else, this doesn't really work, and these highly mobile, educated people will end up leaving (which is already a problem).
