Great speech. Nothing that Trump is doing makes sense. It’s not like his voters didn’t know the mess that he was going to generate. He has never been fit for office and it has been obvious for half of Americans for 8 years.

This is a real leader. This is a great speech. Trudeau is a lot nicer than I am. Donald you are a bully racist criminal who idolizes dictators. When Zelensky was bullied about his clothes and kicked out of the white house, this is the first day I am embarrassed to be American.

No one is buying the fentanil pretext. A great speech from Justin Trudeau. I sincerely hope the Americans will wake up and destitute this ''Wanna be Putin'' in Trump along with his mentally challenged vice president. Loved the intervention of former General Wesley Clark. I mean, when you served the US Army as a general, i'm pretty sure this man loves his country and hearing him saying he's totally with Canada in this issue. It's sums it all.

I’ve read a lot of comments from people saying “Trudeau ruined Canada” in response to people expressing their support for Trudeau in this time.\n\nThat’s not really a great point.\n\nIf Trudeau hasn’t been good for Canada, but gives a coherent, inspiring, and professional speech in this moment that unites Canadians and others alike, then that should speak so much to how awful this situation is. Huge respect to Trudeau and Canada for not backing down. I hope one day we’ll be allies with the right side of the world again.\n\nWe wanna talk about a leader ruining a country? That’s what Donald is doing right now. Except he won’t unite us in the future with a speech like this.\n\nThis American stands with Canada!

Well, I was feeling really great about all the support from around the world, including the kind words of many Americans (thank you), but then I watched this same speech on the Fox youtube channel and the comments are exactly the opposite. Hating the speech and Trudeau. Funny how people can watch the same thing and see two different versions.

Trump supports won't watch or listen to this, people who hate Trump already know this.. this great speech is going to fall on deaf ears of the Maga Americans.\nCant Americans see Trump is literally making America shit cause he's a comprised Russian agent.

I must say even though he's had his flaws while in government, this speech was great! Right to the point, talking to Americans, the Donald and Canadian's. Stating the facts, what they have done as asked, and how Donald is trying to ruin the country with an illegal attack of unjustified tariffs.

Hello from Germany We have very good political programs on television here. “Markus Lanz” is currently running. I believe that German citizens are much better informed about the domestic political situation than American citizens. And what is happening in America should be deeply concerning to the American people. In our assessment, the American administration under Trump, Vance and Musk is transforming the USA into an authoritarian state run by American oligarchs in which there is no democracy, freedom of speech or freedom of expression, information controlled by the state, fake news, etc. America is in great danger domestically.

Measure Trudeau’s words against Trump’s words when he delivers his speech to Congress this evening. While Trudeau presents facts, Trump will present misinformation and lie about how his policies and tariffs are great, best ever. Truth is, he has no plan for the average American, no plan for Ukraine security or peace, no realistic plan for Gaza, no compassion for Americans who are losing their jobs and benefits.

Crazy to see how relations have broken down between our two countries and sad for all my great American friends and thanks for your support but anyone with half a mind could see this coming. So many Americans, even republican voters, now waking up to the cold reality of a treasonous, mad president allied to a Russian mad man, isolating the US from the rest of the world. I don't like Trudeau, but this speech was great. Intelligent when he needed to be, simple when addressing Trump. A strong start to this trade war which as he said, we don't want. I hope along with Ford we hit America where it hurts. Maybe when their groceries skyrocket in price and their trucks are gone they'll really see where their votes went.\n\nI personally can attest I'm no longer buying DOOM: The Dark Ages, or games on Steam for that matter. Great speech from Trudeau, he is on his way out as prime minister and has been unpopular but no doubt he has had his finest moments lately. I wish Canada and a number of US states and sane US citizens could form their own nation or even a union at least. We'd be better off, anything is better than now. Americans will get hit hard by this too, so dumb. Trump is a fascist and brainwashed a cult called MAGA.

I want to move to Canada now. As an American I have never seen anything so stupid than what our president did. I am 1/2 Canadian and shock at what is happening to our friends up north. This was a great speech and I am very impressed with what they will do to help their fellow citizens.

As an American, I really liked Trudeau's speech. I thought he did a great job explaining everything and responding to this situation. I appreciate his words to the American people. There's just one thing he said that was inaccurate... trump is NOT a smart guy!!

Watching in Hungary/Slovakia: Amazing speech - hope it's understandable also to many Americans. They need to understand it before they feel the impact of Trump's trade war w/ his frm allies. As a South African, I want to say that this trade war, as well as the hostile approach of Trump towards Canada, is devastating. If one were not experiencing it directly, it would be almost impossible to believe. This is such a remarkable speech that it will go down in history as one of the truly great speeches in times of crisis. It is entirely correct to address the American and Canadian peoples directly, as the Prime Minister has done. They are both clear victims of this madness, Americans misled, and Canadians the target, of this senseless trade war. If one reads History, there is another dimension to this, and I hate to say it. Canadians have to prepare themselves for worse. These types of antics by the aggressor usually involve, finger pointing, contrived border incidents, plausibly deniable incursions and other actions, by the aggressor, which one can find if the preludes to the WW1 and WW2 are studied. I am not sure if you have porcupines in Canada, but you need to rapidly become one.

Great speech! As an American, I'm on Canada's side in this fight. The American tariffs should not have been implemented. Their purpose is to hurt both countries, to soften us up for Russian dominance.

I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. I’m quite far into the US in a major US city.\n\nThere are two types of Canadians that distinct themselves. The first group is the ones that are themselves immigrants that are naturalized. I make this distinction because many cases they have not assimilated. They still have their own culture from another country and is pointed out by the narrator people from south Asia and Asia strongly have their culture And language \n\n( Canada is good for allowing people to live in communities to cut themselves off from the main screen. You have people who speak the Ukrainian language Going Back 4 generations)\n\nThen I’m gonna have to use a euphemism that might make peoples hair stand on the back of their neck. I’m gonna call them. The white Canadians has a euphemism. These are people who are going so far back from the British Isles for the most part and the French also speak another language who have no connection to Europe. The English-speaking Canadians who are you from white could walk down or come down to the US and fit right in in a matter of weeks if they’re not already assimilated into the US Culture ( I hope I don’t see any fireworks start coming from this comment) Many of these white Canadians are now more economically disadvantage than the newer Asian and south Asian immigrants and find themselves often times competing for resources with these newer immigrants. Many immigrants more effectively when it comes to investment funds and banking as they formed their own little cocoon communities that don’t interact with the white Canadians.\n\nUnderstandably the white Canadians feel like they’re shut out, unappreciated by the government and now disadvantage and if they raise any protest, they’re called racist and white supremacist. \n\nJust so you know, I am not a white American, but I have an immigrant father from East Asia and I have relatives of my fathers who are also from the same Asian country who immigrated the Canada that I’m in contact with\n\nCulturally when I run into white Canadians, what I noticed is that their diction and speech is so clean clear and polished. It’s almost like they went to a finishing school or a low level class in diplomacy and public speaking many of these people come off like human resource people in the US because their culture is one of accommodation and consideration for other people they know how to be mindful of other people and these are great qualities\n\nYes, the Canadian government is messing up right now and they’re gonna wind up, ruining the social cohesion of their country if they have any and also wasting their human capital
