Hey! Im a sikh that was born in canada, with my parents, grand father, great grand father also being in this beutiful country. I wanted to start of by saying a couple of things. My home was in brampton for a long time and I have personally seen the safety gone down, my family used to come back from trips with our garage open and everything would be completely fine. The long term sikhs and indians came and actually contributing positively and that can be seen with how good canada was pre 2020. Immigration too an extent was good, but mass immigration was never a good idea. In 2018-2019 the old time punjabi community was heavily against so many students coming in, so much so people that were indian had "no students" signs when renting their basements. It's sad to see people that came here running things so badly and ruining the effort and contributions made by many(I even face the consqeunces of things I have never done). For the love of god please fix this. I am an Indian immigrant here since I was 5 and a citizen since I was 12 and my husband is white and we both see the hate rising. I love Punjabis. They are the most humble and kind people to be around. Chardi Kala high spirits all around. I feel very good around them and don't feel judged. Being myself feels ok around them. They like to to take care of others. They will commonly ask you if you are OK and need water, food, anything. Langar/ community kichen is inbedded in culture and makes sure everyone eats in the same humble setting. They think communally and make sure to ask all parties how they feel about a particular topic, especially before making a decision. They appreciate when you try to understand them. Um so tired of going to a store all immigrants working. Make a phone call it's answered by an immigrant. You can't understand them . I love on ccpd I don't get old age pension yet. I live in a seniors housing complex..so my rent is adjusted to fit my income. Thank God for housing I'd be homeless if it wasn't for them. 😢😢 But the immigrants have money. Have jobs. Drive new cars. Get free rent for a year. I waited 9.5 hours at the emergency😢😢 not the Indians they have Indian drs that work there for them. How in the hell is this ok. I ended up leaving the emergency I couldn't wait any longer. I sat there in pain all that time and two Indian families came in during that time and within 20 min at the most they were in and out. They even have an advertisement in the emergency room in their language with all the Indian drs working there. Wtf is going on. I'm tired of seeing these people. They are opening businesses here. Everything you see now is written in English, French and Indian. They call it our third language now. There are building going up that have only immigrants in them. A d I live in a small town but the city. Come on. They stopped saying the Lord's prayer in schools. They can't say Merry Christmas. Christmas concerts are called Holliday concerts now. i know Trudeau gets a lot of crap from people, but my god this was a hell of a speech. same with Bernie Sanders' speech. i got goosebumps and also trying to fight back tears simultaneously. my ex wife is disabled receiving social security, medicare, and medicaid due to being in a wheelchair and requiring consistent medical care and attention. she receives, and is expected to survive on, $800 a month and $300 in foodstamps. she lives in campgrounds which is 90% cheaper than rent, and still has to budget, struggle and go without a lot to make life work all while being in tremendous pain and reliant on help from others. As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies.
