All these comments are correct. We are all sick and bloody tired of what is going on in once a beautiful country here in cal Gary Alberta Canada, especially the Northeast quadrant of the city. They called the cops telling them, I am a racist, a drug dealer, and a killer. They almost we're successful in having my nephew arrested telling the police that he hit their little cockroaches. With his car, the black cop that I invited into my home stupidly. Was Very hot and waning arrest both of us, but there was no damage on the car. No damage on their little cockroaches, no charges, but the black cop 2 hours later cold because he wanted my nephew's license plate number. He was probably trying to catch him driving dirty, but never called back. So he didn't find anything. These people have threatened to shoot me. They have threatened big consequences. They have threatened to slap the f out of me. They have threatened to pop the pimples out of my eyes. And when they found out that I was blind, that's when they ramped up the harassment, the cops did nothing about the threats towards me when they told the cops that we I threatened to kill them. I’m a recent Indian immigrant and I’ve lived in Singapore, Malaysia, the USA, and now Canada. I’ll admit that a lot of what’s said here is true: there are far too many cases where Indians abroad show a lack of civic sense, break rules, or behave in ways that don’t respect the host country.  Personally, my family and I have always assimilated wherever we’ve lived, respecting local customs, following rules, and contributing positively to the community and I hate it when immigrants don't assimilate into the local culture and reside in their own enclaves, I mean what was the point of emigrating then?? I truly value the peace and order these countries offer, and I want to give that back. Every community has good and bad examples. The responsibility is on us as immigrants to lead by example, integrate genuinely, and show that we can be respectful, responsible citizens. That’s how perceptions change for the better. It sucks that a whole racial group can be disliked because of some bad apples — and in our case, unfortunately, there are quite a few.

This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections! There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! Their policies (on paper) seem great, and geared more towards a 'Canada first'/'Canadians First' approach. They touch on a lot of topics and there seem to be a lot of things they want to change! But a government is still a government, they will be motivated by money regardless of any good intentions they may have. So if and when things change, WE NEED TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! We as the citizens have the power to change things for the better! It's just unfortunate that I see so many people getting pushed down or ignored or hated because they are speaking their mind. Remember, Canada dosen't have laws like the US, our freedoms aren't as protected nor do we have the same freedoms they do (like owning and protecting your own property, or self defense!) We as people need to start being honest and expressing things instead of being terrified of the backlash (of which there will be in these times). The only way we can make progress is by deciding to get out of our comfort zones and standing for what is right! For the freedoms and protections we deserve! To make a future worth living for us and our children! It will not be easy, but when is change ever easy? I hope that one day I won't be terrified of the thought of bringing a life into this world and country. I hope I can be stable enough to be able to give my future children a decent life. But right now? I would never want to have children, things are too unstable and I don't want to bring a child into this country and force them to live a terrible life they never asked for! I desperately want to be able to keep hoping for a better future, a better country, and people who can enjoy their lives instead of constantly worrying and stressing about everything. I like you & your attitude about coming to Canada. I’m subscribing. I feel for the young girl looking for a job. There are tons of jobs on indeed in my city. I apply for both part & full time. I apply for at least 10-20 a day. I’m not getting calls for interviews. I’ve even applied twice to one job because I was not chosen but 2 weeks later the same position was back. I’m fortunate enough to not have to work. I have a husband that makes a very good salary that pays for all of the bills , groceries & vacations. Up until Covid collapsed my 2 franchises & I was sinking more money in than making it I had to sell one for 1/3 of what I paid for it & give the other away. I started a small business at home doing lash extensions. I have my regular clients. But if I want to save my own money it’s not sustainable or steady. I want to work because I enjoy leaving my home not to just go grocery shopping or visit family. That’s even if they are home from work. I like having a purpose. I’m skilled in accounting, cleaning, sales, marketing, customer service you name it. Many might say that I’m very lucky. I am very blessed but it’s also very lonely. Plus I have always worked & had independence. I hate asking my husband to send me money so I can pay my cell, credit card bills. I don’t even go shopping without him for new clothes because I rely on him to pay for those too. Hypothetically we broke up tomorrow I’d be screwed. I worry about if he dies. There’s life insurance but we still have a mortgage to pay & monthly bills. Plus of course I’d make sure his kids got some too. Not to mention I’ve had mental health struggles with social anxiety & agoraphobia years ago. The more I stay home the more I get anxious about going out. Days can get boring & then I find myself napping all afternoon. I need a job. I just want my own money. I don’t want to go to my husband every 3 months & ask him to send me 2000.00 to clear up my overdraft for one business day. I don’t even want to have to use it. Totally agreed. If you want to maintain your culture then do not migrate. But whose fault is this? Canada and some other western countries give too much freedom to immigrants to do whatever they want. So people started keep practicing their own culture instead of adopting the Canadian culture. I am not racist in any way shape or form- my grandfather was in Germany and he was on the Beach in Normandy. He saw his friend die in a foxhole beside him and my grandfather came home with shrapnel in his leg. His suffered all of this to give us our freedoms and a safe place to live. Students immigrants are given better housing and more money to survive on than me - who was a part of this workforce and a taxpayer from the age of 12 I have had some sort of job until I was injured at work. I just want to be able to survive in my home country - the country I have paid taxes into all my life. Is there another country in the world that puts itself and its people last as Canada does??? Without immigration Canada would fall... Canadians on their own do not have enough children to sustain the numbers to keep our economy stable. That's why the process is supposed to take awhile, have checks and applications, so we are not just bringing in people, we are bringing in a sustainable number of people that will embrace being Canadian. We need to continue that. What we don't need is an influx of people who have not gone through the process, who do not understand they are being giving an opportunity to join us, and who are willing to be Canadian. No one wants to strip people of their history, but if you are leaving your country, you are doing it because you want something better, something different... the only way you get that is if you embrace where you are, not try and change it to what you left.

The difference with Trump getting minerals from Canadian or Ukraine is that he can take the minerals from Ukraine as part of a blackmail deal to get a peace deal, but with no guarantees for providing security for Ukraine. Canada would want to trade the minerals not give them away.
