I am Indian and here we have few states : Punjab, Haryana and Gujurat from where where every mid to low tier graduate wants to move to Canada cause it would be an easy life upgrade. The top tier ones don't go to diploma mills . Mostly they go to top US universities. Canada isn't getting any of these. I was thinking how stupid the Canadian admins could be.

There is no mini Punjab, is Brampton, is Canada. When we moved to canada we decide Live as Canadians. We respect Canadian culture, citizens and neigorhoods why try change that?, if you missed a lot go back to your country! We have to keep clear this is not our native country, here are many cultures and them could no be agree with ours and yours. So live you culture in your house but not force everybody to stant and accept yours. Its just a matter of society respect.

If you want to talk about the crisis, let's start at the beginning, shall we? \nIt all began when the USA wanted to use Pakistan as a drop-off point for their army. Pakistan saw this as a golden opportunity and made the most of it. Pakistan and India were, unfortunately, enemies. \nLots of money started to flow into India, especially Punjab. They started helping criminal and hardline religious leaders so they could create problems for India. \nAfter Pakistan lost the war with India, many of those criminals fled. They went to Pakistan, Pakistan saw that as ppportunity and asked the USA for help. The USA was kind enough to take in those folks and dump them in Canada,. Give them funds to for their Khalistani movement, to create problem for India to make Pakistan happy. Just like the USA once funded Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, etc. to hurt Russia. \nMeanwhile, Canada started using those criminals as a Vote bank. And what do these folks do? They form gangs, of course! Gangs need people, so they started inviting or smuggling people from India. Most of those people are just criminals or the lowest of the low. \nWhen those Khalisthani creating problem for India, Canada and the USA support them. \nDrugs, smuggling, trafficking, and violence are the only things these Khalisthani have learned. \nUntil USA, Canada stop supporting Khalisthani movement both Canda and India will suffer from these people.

As an Indian immigrant myself, I have tremendous sympathy for Canadians. \n\nThe so called diploma mills were always a danger but online classes during covid meant they could quadruple their attendance (and thus, their bottom line). The degrees offered by these colleges are worthless and that's why anyone who's moved to Canada in the last 4-5 years is finding it difficult to get meaningful employment.\n\nOn the other side, the Canadian dream really is sold as a cheaper and safer alternative to the American Dream. This is especially rampant in the state of Punjab where people from villages sell their ancestral property to move to Canada as students only to find the stalemate that is the job sector.\n\nThis in turn puts pressure on the economy, the housing market, and the welfare programmes. I think the immigration needs to halt for a while. A LOT of students are lacking in technical and linguistic skills to propel the Canadian economy and society forward and they'll need to not be given Permanent Residencies. PR should go to highly skilled immigrants who are integrating into the Canadian society instead of turning Brampton into mini India.

Let me get this straight.... I am an Indian, and we are simply sick of Canada immigration policy !! It's so dumb !! Seriously, make it harder ... Dumbos government didn't send a plane and asked you to come. You could go other countries for study but chose Canada because it is banana Republic and you know you will get PR after some small bogus course. Australia don't even give PR to people who studied there unless they study the profession which they need. I like to go to Japan and live there so I will go for study there and then demand Japanese government to give me PR??? government is not saying no to you but government wants you to study the profession which is needed not fast food servers, security guard and truck drivers because for these jobs people are already here in Canada in tons. And when you saturate the labour market for these unskilled jobs then the corporations would have upper hands and they will suppress the wages and the living standards of everyone will go down. So don't try to become victim here I know you are Punjabi and I am from third world country too these tactics are old to become victim. Go study skill trade and build home for Canadians and then the government will give you PR no doubt. But you pendoos Jut came from Punjab villages and can't study hard subjects and looking for easy ways to get PR.

Canada messed up the system for cheap labor and ideology.\nThese fake colleges shouldn't have been permitted in the first place.\nVisa interviews from the fake applicants should have been declined.\nThis has hurt India also, it drains India's foreign currency and earnings, it is flowing out to the owners of the fake colleges when the money could have been in the bank accounts and lent to businesses and individuals or invested in stock, bond, commodity, real estate etc.\nThese people are from almost exclusively from two states in India, Punjab and Haryana.\nTheir sole aim is to emigrate from India.

i am from hamilton and we are still very diverse here. yes brampton is quiet loaded with indians. i think what has failed is the requirements for immigration has dropped. i mean we use to have highly educated people come in but now the standards have dropped. so anyone with low standards can come walk in. pubjabi votes for jagmeet or trudeau and they are the group with highest crimes in india the state of punjab and there is a big drug and drinking culture that comes here. the minute our standards grow up with immigration requirements then we will get more educated bunch coming in. when we have greedy power hungry people run the country this is what happens. now people are fed up. the other day i was at freshco and some white guys started to lecture me and he openly admitted he is a racist. i pulled out my camera and started to record. he backed off but he could have done anything. he rude and stupid. i was also quiet upset. people were not like this and were more accepting. i can understand his frustration but he said openly he was racist and called me Fxxxxxxx indian etc... this is out of line. i also gave him a mouth full. i told him i have been here 35 years and his mood changed but its quiet disappointing how people react. its not safe or respectful. not sure where we are headed in canada.

Having Pakistani, Indian, Punjabi, Sikh, Hindu categories is so weird. Punjab is in India and Pakistan, sikhs and Hindus can be found in both countries too. They could just have India and Pakistan as separate categories or a single category to avoid the confusion.

I live in a majority Punjab community that also houses a lot of people from Africa and South East Asia. It also contains a lot of drug addicts and homeless people, mostly white. What I see is non-white people who have grown up during a period of time in which a serious effort was made to destroy the family, the church, patriotism etc. Conservative values essentially. On the other side is a group that has largely maintained their religion, social norms, work ethic etc. and is OBVIOUSLY so much better off, so much more productive and happier. There is a real lesson to be learned here if we have the wisdom to see it. Btw, I am white and I really enjoy living here but it is not hard to see that things could become very difficult if there were, for example, a major rise in unemployment.

Punjab will benefit if people stop wasting all its wealth on stupid diplomas from nondescript colleges in Brampton/Surrey।. However Jagmeet singh will be unhappy if they return back. A lot of potential young men who could have been brainwashed with khalistani BS

This is very well put together. Is there any validity in the fact that the reason that the anger from 84 has quieted down in Punjab is because the government cracks down any negative info on it? People are jailed with no court case, people are tortured in jail, people are murdered? Could this be a reason?

Grew up in a traditional sikh family in punjab with the generic beliefs about pakistan being the rival country and punjab's hate towards the incidents of 1984 &1947. Moved to canada when i was 12 years old. Now i hav friends from muslim community, hindi community, afganistan, nigeria, Chinese, japanese and some others as well. We r so close to each other and just enjoy each other's values. We eat what we want and be considerate towards each other's values. I wish something like that could exist in india too. Just geeting along but there is too much division. Unfortunately, seems like its only gonna get worse. Much love to every community in india as well as pakistan. Its possible to get along if we just acknowledge the facts and gain some unbiased knowledge. Thank you for making that first step possible Nitish❤

Welcome to the new Punjab. You can already see them doing brawls, driving cars dangerously speeds, catcalling women, harass those who don't speak Punjabi, keep the house as messy as they could and never rent to those who don't speak Punjabi. I'm myself an immigrant and i can see how some retards misusing the system like crazy. This govt is aware of everything and not why this govt is often turning a blind eye to all those misusing this immigration system. This govt is in a row to turn this country into mini Panjab. So many jobless ppl around and not sure where these 1.2 million will live. I'm sure alk of them will hop on to Toronto and make this city New Delhi or Panjab.
