I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

Try ordering food with any delivery company. It is the worst experience ever. I remember delivery people used to be so chill, probably because they could afford to live on minimum wage. I recently gave a driver a huge tip and requested it be brought to my door because I was having a movie night, they called me and said " COME OUTSIDE! COME OUTSIDE!" and I said "I requested for it to be delivered to my door", then he hung up and left with the food. Probably ate it. I had to reorder my meal and wait another hour. I swear to God every time I order food for delivery, which is rarely, the door dash driver is absolutely disrespectful or putting in 0 zero. This is the cheap labor Trudeau wanted. I honestly just feel bad ordering food for delivery now because I know it's hell out there

Um so tired of going to a store all immigrants working. Make a phone call it's answered by an immigrant. You can't understand them . I love on ccpd I don't get old age pension yet. I'm too old to get the child tax credit and I'm on a Canada pension disability. I get 713.00 a min to live on. Period. That's it. 😢😢😢 I struggle every day. I live in a seniors housing complex..so my rent is adjusted to fit my income. Thank God for housing I'd be homeless if it wasn't for them. 😢😢 But the immigrants have money. Have jobs. Drive new cars. Get free rent for a year. I waited 9.5 hours at the emergency😢😢 not the Indians they have Indian drs that work there for them. How in the hell is this ok. I ended up leaving the emergency I couldn't wait any longer. I sat there in pain all that time and two Indian families came in during that time and within 20 min at the most they were in and out. They even have an advertisement in the emergency room in their language with all the Indian drs working there. Wtf is going on. I'm tired of seeing these people. They are opening businesses here. Everything you see now is written in English, French and Indian. They call it our third language now. There are building going up that have only immigrants in them. A d I live in a small town but the city. Come on. They stopped saying the Lord's prayer in schools. They can't say Merry Christmas. Christmas concerts are called Holliday concerts now. Our kids don't know the national a them they stopped that. They don't know the Lord's prayer they stopped that. The schools are changed to not make other nationalities feel bad. They get their Holliday's off and our Holliday's off..why? We don't get their off. Yeah I'm just a plain white person who lived in Canada all my life. 64 years. I've never seen this in my days. Never. Everything is destroyed. This feels like India 😢😢😢. We have to stop this. They need to leave. They are not here because of war or danger for their lives. They are here to take the jobs, take over our culture and country. Now we have to be careful what we say or were called racist. I'm white I lived in the hood all my life. With black people. I have alot of black friends even family but this is so damn reducilous. Who are they a d why are they here. Canada doesn't take care of us any more. Or help us people who need it. We are homeless in the streets you don't see Indians homeless, hell no. So Carney step up a x fix what Trudeau ruined. Please. This is not the country I'm used to it's India. Not Canada. I have friends from Ukraine. Now they are brought here because of the war. I get it. But they have their own immigration dr. And they've been here 2.5 years if that and bought their own home a year ago. How is this possible? The first year Canada paid their rent for a year. I live on 713.00 a month. He's a month. I live in seniors housing. I can't get enough to live on. I struggle every day😢😢😢 no one will help me. I'm alone and have nothing while Canada is supporting these immigrants and saying to hell with you if your Canadian . Yes I said it. How can someone live in what I get a month. I don't get anything else and like I said if it wasn't for housing I'd be in the street while Canada brings over immigrants from India that are not here because of war. Just to make more money to send home and take everything from us. They are laughing at us everyone is. Wake up people. We are the minority in our own country😢😢😢😢😢 I'm so done

Trump is doing all these crazy things but he is forgetting one HUGE thing. Canada & many other countries are Allies of America & while he's talking about tariffs & goodness knows what (I did watch his talk in Congress), at least respect your Allies. Trump is sleeping with the enemy & in all my years, I've never seen an American President turn on their Allies like this. He is a dangerous man for all the wrong reasons. I feel badly for the American people whom will be stuck between a rock & a hard place. I feel for the Canadian's whom don't deserve this. Trudeau speaks so genuinely & politely where Trump yells 'this is the way things will be'. \nI don't look forward to the next 4 years & many in my country (Australia) have said they won't even go to America while Trump is in Office. Don't buy Canadian Bacon, Maple Syrup and other Canadian goods. Canada is NOT the closest ally of the US and has long in fact been like the Karen nation of North America who is massively passive aggressive to the US, and outright hatred for the US is rampant among many Canadians. 25 percent 155 billion which is dwarfed by the trade imbalance of the many billions more of Canadian goods that go to the US, mostly it is American Alcohol that goes to Canada, to fuel the drunks of Canadian society, so Homeless alcoholics in Canada might truly suffer. How is more sobriety a bad thing Trudeau? This might be fantastic for people who drink alcohol to make a break with the booze they have been needing. \n\nThe rest of us, who don't buy Canadian goods nor own or invest in American alcohol won't feel anything. In fact we pay more for mailing stuff to Canada from the Canadian postal service. \n\nWe learned not to mail stuff to Canada. We are ok now living with that limitation.

We Europeans feel you and we are totally with Canada. \nHowever, I guess there is no point anymore speaking reasonable arguments to someone who simply lost all resonableness. As a Canadian, I support any measure Trump places on Canada. There's a lot of Canadians, who are not willing to bend the knee to the Trudeau government, even if it means some pain. I don't care what anyone says, but Indian people, particularly (Punjabs) don't like to mixed with other cultures at all. They don't integrate with the Canadian lifestyle. Glad to see this talk. I will vote for your party again for the third time. Call me a racist, I don't care but the country is going downhill too quickly. I accept your message as a positive effort, but take exception that you are ambassadors for India. That is my main concern: many immigrants are not just keeping their old culture but forcing it on native Canadians of all descent. \nFor refugees, it absolutely boggles my mind why you might want to recreate the very situations that you are fleeing from. \nFor Indians specifically, I’ve noticed a tendency to hire only other Indians, excluding Canada from Canadians and I don’t appreciate it. At the end of the day the main issue is the Government used Indian students to supplement the economy at the expense of the Canadian citizens. Now in 2024 the Trudeau liberals still refuse to pause it because of the economic impact it will have on their corporate friends and the schools. They also subsidize immigrant students which incentivises businesses to only hire Indian students. Canadians can't find affordable housing or a minimum wage job and Indians are paying the price. I feel bad saying it because I'm not a racist but I don't want anymore Indians, or any immigrants at all, here unless they fill a vital need in the economy. We simply no longer have the housing or jobs and it's as simple as that. Enough is enough.

After reading a few of these comments, the main take aways are, there are a lot of immigrants, things cost more, healthcare is a mess and inflation.\nI am sorry that things are hard, the costs of everything are up everywhere in the world so good luck in gentrifying other nations and making your problems their problems.\nIt pains me to no ends that after things get tough in Canada many are ready to jump ship for better softer areas where they will trash the place with their incomes creating inequality there as well and then blaming the mess that they will create on the indigenous people that they will abandon for better pastures.\n\nAs a Canadian of native ancestry I never had it anywhere as good as many of the people here complaining about their middle class woes.\n\nMaybe if you fought for a change, like more housing to bring down the prices and fought corporate greedflation and gouging, realizing that much of this problem, the attack on the healthcare services, much of it being done by the conservative governments, then perhaps you would not be so annoyed with Trudeau.\n\nHe is not helping the housing problem by not building the 2 million new homes that he said he would but NIMBY people are making this difficult. They want the charm of a nice middle class feel to their neighborhoods but when it comes to housing, they don't want to build affordable near them and then they complain with their rents are too expensive or the costs of things too high. \n\nI can't say I feel much pity or empathy with most of the people complaining about their lots in life because as far as I can tell, many natives would love to have your problems but the best that many of them can do is to live in their own lands, homeless, even on their own reserves because there is just not enough housing. Yet when the prices of housing was going up, many homeowners loved it, even though it meant that the poor, the actual poor and not you lot, were stacked like firewood into smaller and smaller rooms with no AC so it was hot in the summer and freezing in the winter and the slum lords are having a hey day. \nThe actual first nations people are homeless and being killed daily and are arrested for being poor daily but you lot think you have it bad. \n\nSorry, when non first nations people say that they will leave Canada because its not how they remember it when they were kids and its worse now so they will jump ship to gentrify other nations, I just shake my head and hold open the door as you leave the nation and wonder at your arrogance and egoism.

My family immigrated here in the 1950s out of war torn Europe for a better life. Things have changed so much since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Toronto was a safe city with a good vibe. Things were reasonably affordable. Trudeau didn't start a lot of the problems, but he massively accelerated them. Government is openly hostile to basically anyone who was born here. They sold out the country to wealthy foreigners. I make a decent income but I still can't afford a house. Taxes are killing me. My doctor is horrible, but I can't find a new one. Civil liberties went right out the window. The people are cold and sullen. Crime is getting bad. Life just feels like it gets a little worse every year. I've been mulling it over for a long time, but might finally be time to head south. There's got to be something better than this, because I'm getting older and life now just feels like going through the motions.

For me a Québécois, we missed the boat in 1995. Too bad if you don’t like it but we got screwed by newly arrived immigrants back then and we are being drowned by immigrants now. The difference is that you too in the ROC are being drowned. I am a Quebec nationalist, it’s in my guts. My family has roots going back to New France. Canada has always been an imposition for us just as we to the First Nations I guess. That’s unfortunately neither here nor there at this point in history and I apologize for it. I could blame the Trudeau government but any government in Canada would do the same for neoliberal/conservative ideological reasons. We have a neoconservative government right now in Quebec. They have practically killed our nation from the inside in order to discredit the social democratic and socialist tendencies that did so much to develop this nation. These are the ones who would literally step on their grandmothers neck to attain higher status in life. Since for me this place is where I feel the most a part of and have understood long ago that the ROC had done everything to negate us as a people a nation and the dream of an independent country with close ties to the ROC is and probably never was in the cards, I have started hoping for some kind of political union with mother France since it has become painfully clear that Canada as a strong bicultural self respecting truly independent country is a bygone notion. Just look at our military, it’s a monumental farce. Look at the insane levels of immigration, we cannot support this!! PERIOD!!! Look at way we genuflect to the US’s economic visions without questioning anymore. The Quebec people are a nation, Canada unfortunately is only a notion. For me getting out of Canada is also a reality except since this place never was one of a cash cow there only to send funds to some family elsewhere I believe we Québécois and Québécoise, with the respect for the First Nations that we have always owed them, need to go our way. So leave Canada, in fact there are too many of you already. We are not the US, we cannot afford the social chaos of savage predatory capitalism. What is bringing this confederation down is exactly that. Wanting to cram Canada, all its constituent parts into an Merican hole. No matter the price. Goodbye Canada you hardly wanted to know us.

I’m Canadian from Toronto. I feel bad and sorry for my USA friends. Everything is Justin Trudeau’s fault. Vote Trump on November and we will vote for Pierre Poilievre next October. All this nonsense MUST STOP ?????

I'll be honest while writing this! Being Indian i feel ashamed nowadays bcoz of Trudeau's love affair for Khalistani's. When i came here 6 years it was way better but in last 2-3 years Trudeau has literally dumped whole Punjab into Canada without any screening. This people from my own country don't speak English, don't wanna dress in a civil way, don't wanna act civil, shove their religious thoughts on everyone and feel as if they own everything. Yes me being an Indian says this and yes I've gad enough of this Punjabi's. I came to Canada for a different life but it looks like it's getting worse from bad.\n\nTaxing us till death, handing out welfare cheques to the entitled ones (natives) of this country and treating actual taxpayers like shit is insane. Sorry to say but if actual Canadians don't raise their voice now this people from Punjab will takeover in no time and will overpower you. My heart goes out for actual Canadians who built this country. \n\n\nAnyways much love from a good Indian who actually loves and respects Canada the way it is and not trying to change it ❤

People tend to give Justin Trudeau way to much credit for his deeds, good or bad. I have a feeling he is nothing but an employee to his bosses, which are not the canadian citizens. Big corporation are using him to enrich its shareholders regardless of the needs of the population. Massive immigration is good for economical growth: new customers!

There is no country anymore. I knew trudeau name was bad news when the flakes voted him in 2015, but never imagined I will be looking to emigrate to another country because my country will vanish in front of my eyes and I will feel as a stranger in my own land. In Brampton, the majority are Punjabi and Gujarati. These names first come from the language they speak, later to the Indian State. Each language represents a culture. In India also everyone feels safe within their community because it is human nature to bully someone who doesn't look the same as them. So, they feel safe within the community. This new Woke culture calls it racism and hate, but I think it is a common human nature.\n2) Helping each other to settle in the same community. So, they prefer to land here first and somehow settle in. The government programs for newcomers are just a waste of taxpayers' money.\n3) Closer to the Airport and Public Transportation is not too bad.\n4) A lot of part-time work opportunities for the students and newcomers. (Not the same under Trudeau anymore)\n5) A lot of activities for parents of the immigrants because they can't learn English or Culture at this age.\n6) Indian Food and Grocery are easily available.\n\nIt was not that bad before, but the latest influx of unskilled immigrants and students with the absence of manners has taken it to an unrecoverable level.

When the immigrants are now asking to go back home, you know the economy is bad. Many of them are blaming Trudeau for their current suffering now. They are feeling like the Israelites begin brought into Egypt as slaves. They are looking for a deliverer. His name is Poilievre!

Trudeau has systematically destroyed every aspect of Canadian life over the past 8 years. I feel badly for immigrants that have come here to make a better life, being very disappointed with the reality of life in Canada with its high inflation, high taxes, high crime rates, a compromised judicial system and poor healthcare. Many of us that were born and raised here are also looking to leave. It's shocking how far this country has fallen in 8 years and there's no sign that this government will change course anytime soon.

I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! But yea I came wanting a better life and well thankfully I wound up in Calgary so eventually I had the money to leave. And come home where know having seen the Canadian shit show I'm killing it here. It saddens me and yes I was that asshole that got trudeau on there cos I seen one rousing speech where he invoked his dad Pierre. And I fell for it. And not to lie I look old Canadian so I fit right in English is my first language and all that. And funnily enough it was the first time in my life where I could say fucking immigrants. It's a brutal place a brutal work climate and well there's a lot that's nice but when it's bad it's dog ear dog. I feel really sad about what's happening, all the mass illegal immigration and yet your a criminal for noticing it. A lot is very wrong, don't get me wrong nz is doing all the same shit too. I went to Canada for prosperity and to change my life lesson I learnt was go home ans do better and that's fucked.

I'm an immigrant from the UK, which is in someways worse than Canada and some ways better, both Governments are corrupt and beholden to the US Empire and huge Corporations. Tell me why I should choose this authoritarian, dystopian nightmare of a country, over my home authoritarian, dystopian nightmare of a country? At least the UK doesn't steal your hard earned money, for protesting the corrupt Government. They may beat you up and arrest you for it, but that's kids play compared to what Canada does. \n\nMost prices in this country are as similar as the UK's, allowing for exchange. But food is unbelievably more expensive and the UK is an island. My husband wants us to move to the UK, but I have fallen in love with this country, it's beauty and it's people. I'm heartbroken, I can only imagine what those who were born here feel. When skilled immigrants come here and have to start at the bottom in many industries, no matter how rich their CV. When pay is as bad as back home, in some cases worse, why would they bother? Not to mention the taxes. And I happen to be a traditional leftist, who believes in progressive taxing. Trudeau is too busy cosplaying his ego into US proxy wars and identity poltics, which serves only to divide the people. His days are numbered, I only have to listen to my friends and neighbours.

And on the other hand Trudeau is busy helping and protecting khalistani terrorist I feel bad for Canadian citizen they need a good PM it's time to kick Trudeau out of politics

Immigrants are here now because Trudeau is taking them in. It wasn’t multi culture until he got in cost of living went up too. We don’t have family drs they’re full. And that comment about apologizing makes no sense. I was born and raised on the east coast of Canada, lived in Vancouver and visited Montréal Edmonton, Calgary with the acception of Winnipeg I’ve seen every major city in Canada. \n\nI will always have pride for my country and love for my family there but it has changed dramatically since 2010.\n \nI will say the transportation in Canadian cities are better and so is the crime and the food but you have to drive a minimum of an hour to get anywhere outside the city, your not leaving that city without a car and good luck surviving without a car outside the city, and VIA rail is way overpriced. The GO train is nice though.\n\nLiving in America it has changed a lot since covid too though people are a lot more desperate and you can feel it but people are too prideful to admit, where in Canada people are struggling and they dress and look terrible and fail to dress nice because there is less prideful.\n\nCanadians are not nice people they are passive aggressive and will not got out of their way to help you most of the time (modern day) kind of like Californians.\nThe east coast Americans are rude and trashy but they will help you if you show respect. There just no fun to be around mostly ? overall North Americans are chauvinistic.\n\nJobs are harder to get in Canada and opportunity isn’t there, but it is very relaxed.\nAmerica is overcrowded and stressful especially for a Canadian.\nMontréal is cheap rent great food, and being personally bilingual I like the French, but there infrastructure is terrible and the people are depressed and disgustingly rude and they have no customer service.\n\nVancouver is overpriced in every way possible, beautiful city, great seafood but it’s not worth the price tag, you would be better of living in a San Francisco, the crime in Richmond and burnaby and new Westminster and hasting street is just as bad as San Francisco’s tenderloin.\n\nToronto is big and fun yet it doesn’t feel Canada at all, it feels like it’s been hijacked by American and foreign companies. It’s beautiful but lots of rats and bad traffic. People are relatively nicer there but it’s still expensive like New York.\nCalgary is very pretty probably my favorite, it’s just cold AF and kinda pricey. Probably perfect for families.\nEdmonton is flat and boring but I like it’s proximity to Calgary ?\nOverall it’s one of the best countries to live in the west but if you like fast paced, opportunity, diversity, traveling and are rich enough for elite education then come to America. Lastly Canada is a democracy so bills can be passed faster but that can also be a bad thing if you have a courrupt gov’t, cough cough trudeau.\nAmerica is a republic so it is harder to pass laws which can suck but it is also harder for people like uncle joe to overreach. Overall in America you are more free but in Canada you are more at peace. \n\nI’ve lived in America for six years and moved here at 20yrs so this is just my experience.

Canada's racial teaching with CRT (Critical Race Theory) actually makes people feel more and more divided. Whizqueen and Tinuola talk about how they didn't feel black ? till they moved to Canada, they didn't feel isolated till they moved to Canada. Back home everyone felt the same, but if people in Canada say that there is no such thing as colour, or they are colour blind, they get accused of being racist. \nHere in the UK most things are as bad as Canada, if not worse, in terms of the other things that Whizqueen and Tinuola talk about: we have gloomy weather and it is wet and cold much of the year, we have high taxes, many people are working all they can and are still relying on charities called food banks just to be able to pay all their other bills. \nBut our government is still not as bad as the way Trudeau has been governing Canada recently. Government by presidential decree is not democracy, it is a dictatorship. When people can't even protest against the dictatorship of Trudeau without being slandered and called horrible names and then punishing people by not only freezing and stealing the protesters' money, they even went after the bank accounts of people who had helped the protesters. That is what dictatorships are like, not democracy.

Here's my message to illegal immigrants, liberals and the liberal media. This to the liberal media, Justin Trudeau said all the stuff he said about welcoming illegal immigrants with open arms and all of his Trump bashing also happened for one reason and one reason only. Because your cameras were rolling. It made him look good to all his liberal sheep and it made him feel good that he was standing up to the BIG BAD UNITED STATES AND THEIR BIG MEANIE PRESIDENT. He never for one minute meant what he was saying. Look back at all the things liberals like Chuck Schumer and Barack Obama himself were saying about illegal immigration when Obama was president. Back then they sounded exactly like Donald Trump. Even Justin Trudeau in the video clip they show in this video. I bet you people at Vice News even still think Justin Trudeau is some great awesome prime minister for standing up to the big mean US president. Yet you can't see past your rose colored glasses that he really isn't going to do a damn thing to help the illegal immigrants he promised to welcome. He'll deport them just like the big mean president. He'll just wait till they've spent all their money in Canada first.

Man I feel bad for these kinds of refugees. But its Trudeau's fault for insinuating that its easy to just do that. You have to do it the legal way my man.
