As an Indian living in India, I’d say it was your country’s government’s problem and mistake, similar to what the UK is doing now. Aside from government or policies, Indians immigrating to Canada is something that dates back to the British era, when Britain sent a group of Indians, specifically Sikhs, for security or labor work in Canada. This started the trend of Sikhs (turban-wearing ones) moving there. In modern times, the West was richer in terms of education and infra compared to Asia, which attracted many normal students and families immigrants also. Canada and America were built by immigrants, but now things are saturated, which I understand, and that’s where the resentment comes from. The majority Sikh state ( punjab) in India is still behind in development and job wise cooperation, and the historical pattern from the British era of moving to Canada for a better life has become a norm for many young people there. The close, collaborative nature of Sikhs—like a cousin in Canada inviting another cousin from India to come over, open a shop, work together, or share housing—is another reason many don’t hesitate to immigrate. These are some of the reasons behind mass immigration from India. Now, with saturation, the resentment toward immigration has grown. India itself faces issues with immigrants who live off our taxes, take rights meant for native children, and abuse policies, laws, or the environment. At least Canada has better-off immigrants—educated and contributing to the economy. While some may depend on taxes, most are hardworking and self-sufficient; otherwise, Canada’s economy would have collapsed by now. In end i can understand the hatred but you guys should stop this yourselves - not hunting them but prevent more.

Aside from Canada, what country doesn't protect their citizens. All countries have rules. Get over it.

Sad to see the racist comments both in the video as well as in the comments. There is no doubt that Canada took too many immigrants in the past 5-7 years. The reasons are many - and the blame goes on both the provincial conservatives and federal liberals. The tuition freeze in Ontario caused colleges and universities to treat foreign students as an ATM to balance their budgets. Foreign enrollments skyrocketed, especially in colleges, with students paying top dollar for dubious degrees with no job prospects. This put strains on the job market, and the housing/rental market. As an educated Indian-American who now lives in Canada, it pains me to see my fellow countrymen dominating Uber, Uber Eats, Bicycle food delivery and Tim Hortons. No one uproots everything in their home country and comes all the way for this. Most of these people are here legally and they work really hard. A last word - leaving aside the Khalistan issue that has caused a wedge between Hindus and Sikhs - the Indian diaspora, especially the Sikh, are amazing in the amount of charitable work that they do. Their concept of seva is unmatched. No one goes hungry when there is a Gurdwara around, as there is always free nutritious food. Same is true for temples. Even a young poor Steve Jobs ate at Iskcon temples. Last point - while some of Canada's problems are because of excessive immigration, Canada would be nothing without immigrants. The population would decline, with a native fertility rate of under 1.4, and entitlement programs would be in deep trouble.

They left their country because they were promised a better life….once they arrive I am wondering if they are told differently. Are they told what to do what to say. Are the well connected immigrants getting the jobs? Not all immigrants have jobs. I am sure the ones who don’t have jobs are worried wondering if they should go back to their country even if it means being shamed. Darn if they do darn if they don’t. Well done Mr. Trudeau, he is no longer Prime Minister of Canada. He can express his thoughts openly and honestly. All joking aside, Canada has been able to form a symbiotic relationship of mutual benefit with the United States since even before NAFTA 1. But.......... right now it is almost like a 51st state and I do not mean that in a joking way. US states are always competing with each other, but what prevents things like, oh say the American Civil war from happening is the Federal apparatus keeps them in line for the good of the empire as a whole. \n\n If Canada is like a 51st state, then it is competing with the other 50 states in a way that all 50 of them are going to get upset about. So either the states complain, or you treat Canada as an economic competitor. Mexico being behind the United States and Canada is what makes it a good candidate for a symbiotic relationship. For all its problems, Mexico has a Christian population (with some indigenous traits) that goes well with America. Their nations different economic status means we can support them and they can support us doing different things for countries of different development stages.\n\nCanada being so similar to the United States will want that as well and will never outbid the United States. Canada has many problems and disadvantages which will need to be determinedly addressed in the coming years. However, we have one key advantage over our friends to the south, and one I hope that over time this will increasingly bear fruit: we are not governed by a fascist-adjacent government. I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada. Then we stood outside in the -20 degrees c freezing cold in a long lineup of good people trying to get their citizenships like my wife, all legally obeying the laws of Canada. I’m white so it doesn’t mater our skin color or religion. Its about love and respect to the laws of our country. What I was talking about before is we here in Canada have been suffering from over taxation, extremely high rental rates, high food costs, greatly reduced medical care (My Mom died recently from lack of proper med care resources). They put her lonely dying body in the hallway where she was robbed of her cell phones, money, food and respect. Due to migrants and illegal immigrants overloading the beds and rooms pouring in from other countries. they drained our existing medical system resources and much more. Drug addicts who overdosed on Fentanyl they take first and push all other patients aside. Doctors take them first before helping a dying mother, father, brother or sister, infant and children pushed aside to save a drug addicts life first. I have been told many times this is also do to them taking care of the pouring in migrants and illegal immigrants using it all up. Where is love and justice? Yes, you failed us Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. You sold us Canadian citizens out and tossed us aside for your own agendas. You are a disgrace to Canada and we the people want you out of office.

So no, not ALL semi-automatic rifles are banned. Same thing with shotguns. \n4. Non-semi automatic rifles and shotguns have no magazine capacity limits.\n5. There is an urban vs. rural misconception among Canadians. Those who live in the big cities do not understand the reasons to own guns, while generally those who live in the country and isolated areas have many reasons to own guns, such as hunting, pest control and predator defence.\n6. Canadian gun owners do not have the right to carry handguns in public. They can only be taken to the range and then back home. They have to be unloaded and locked the whole time. You can only load at the range.\n7. Canadian gun owners do not have the right to carry rifles and shotguns either, the same way as in the US. When transported, they need to be unloaded, locked and hidden from sight in your car at all times. \n8. Finally, fully-automatic/assault rifles have been banned in Canada since 1977. \n\n\nHaving put this case aside, the majority of gun crimes happening in Canada come from illegal guns smuggled from the United States, not by law-abiding licensed Canadian gun owners. \nHopefully this will help understand the difference in culture between the two countries.

It is very expensive to live in Canada aside from Healthcare everything has become super expensive , Immoving back to my country of birth ,the Philippines, yes it going to take adjustment because if is a poor country , but having no mortgage and have a house and hobby farm I'm sure I will be fine, fresh fruits and vegetables right in my property. I'm not sure if I will be a Snowbird as I won't have a residence in Canada, I do gave a small house that we plan to sell, I have a small pension and some savings.\nCanada us a nice country but it has drastically changed, I 'm grateful to my adopted country , Canada for the opportunities it has given me , but sometimes it's time to move on and take life easy.❤??&??

I see a lot of Europeans are having problems with Indians Immigrating into these countries. Its YOUR problem not OURS. Canada, Australia, heck even USA were not white countries, they were colonised by Europeans pushing aside indigenous people. You guys invade the world illegally and hate when same happens with you, how hypocritic. And we aren't even migrating illegally (those who are need to be punished).

Immigration is always a short cut to avoid tackling the right problem. Canada is a country of many opportunities. My observation is that people are not making effort to work harder, too many regulations also limit companies to make great innovation that brings wealth here. Immigrants who come to Canada have an enormous amount of energy to build the country but the system always puts aside and cannot unlock their full potential. Just my observation only.

They should adopt our culture! That lady said it all! I’m an immigrant in Canada myself, been here for almost three years. I always tell my wife and kid “we’re the outlanders, we MUST adapt to the local culture and customs!” I put soccer aside and started learning about hockey, I started listening to Canadian rock bands (great, btw), I read two biographies about Terry Fox, Arctic expeditions, geography, etc. Despite my wife still getting along mostly with people from our mother country, I refuse to be part of these clans!

I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

This has been going on for thousands of years of the colonizing of a country. Newcomers to Canada are colonizing Canada and local citizens are being asked to step aside for the newcomers need room to move in. Newcomers are taking all of the jobs because their numbers are growing because they are coming into the country every day. The fact should be that only third generation citizens should be able to own property in the country. Newcomers to Canada should be renting and not owning property.

These probably happened but your vid is creating fear and not informative. Canada is a welcoming country, and visa officers are trained to be friendly and not aggressive. As soon as you land in Canada, get your information straight. Know why you are here, where you will be staying and for how long. Do not approach the border officers with fear or panic as this video is trying to make you feel.Canada doesn’t just set people aside for deportation at the airport. Once you land in Canada you are protected by Canadian law and international law on immigrants . A visa officer will not warn you of overstaying your visa (if you overstay you won’t be granted visa next time) no officer will tell you that. That’s not their job. People can be set aside for proper screening or scrutiny but that doesn’t mean they are being set aside for deportation. Deportation has a procedure and it’s a costly process even for the Canadian government.These are assumptions. You are exaggerating! Don’t be afraid people, Canada is a beautiful and welcoming country. Information on your application has to match information you give in your questioning. If they don’t match then suspicion is aroused.Even if it doesn’t , they are so many explanations you can give as to why ( stress, airsick,tired, confused ,hungry cus of the long flight) officers will give you time to cool off and come to you later. If it gets to the worst, invoke your rights as an international immigrant and ask for entry to Canada being a safe country as a refugee claimant . Officers can’t deport you if you claim asylum at the border, they have to follow due process and your case must be heard by a judge. Create information, not fear!

@Harrison, there a bunch of holes in your story an thus superficial or lacking, yet has potential to be more Canadian in that you need to differentiate a bit more, attention in the details that you may have missed, votebank, Punjab province certain cluster of uncouth or gang type, instead of drawing in all religions and races and the best educated like how the US does with it, instead of a votebank cluster, that make up only 3% of the Indian population, yet 50% of Brampton, yet Canada is slower to do such. What is the cost of living like in Europe compared to Canada. I would be curious to see that comparison. Also what about inflation, health care, crime rate, etc… \nThis also talks about Toronto a lot, one of the most expensive place in the country to live in. Housing there is unaffordable for many of us. All other places aside from Vancouver are more affordable.

Aside from what was said (making more money), other reasons why many immigrants would fight tooth and nail to get U.S. citizenship are the fact that the U.S. has a bigger and wealthier population, which translates to American companies getting more investment money. And in turn, are alot more willing to invest more of that money into their employers. I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. The federal and state government recommend homes in the city have sewage plumbing BUT it is not required. There are literally houses in the southern states with the toilets flushing right into the front or backyard. 6. Perfectly fine to pay a man more than a woman in the US because a woman isnt a man. 7. And if a woman literally becomes a man by changing 'her' name + physically in appearance via surgery/hormones/whatever she still won't get paid the same as a man because she still not viewed as a man: no gender rights. 8. Where's the healthcare when the US has the highest taxes in the world??? 9. Classist. 10. No regulated education. Literally there is no rules on teaching the students these days are learning absolutely nothing. There's no such thing as regulating education in the US anymore 11. The country is over 33 trillion dollars in debt..... It's never going to fix that.\n\nI could go on and on for another hundred reasons before I'd have to Google something else to add to the list but these are only a few of the reasons why any Canadian who knows anything about the US, would never willfully move south of the boarder. As a American there is a lot of things to say, I want to in the future duel with the uk/eu or Canada. I’m surprised they haven’t talked about the high excelation of racism, and as a Asian person it hasn’t been fun. Until we at the lowest minimum (not my actual minimum) fix our healthcare system is close to nhs that is basically free healthcare payed by your taxes, then I don’t see much people wanting to go to the states; aside from maybe university. There is a lot that plays a role, but in my eyes living in Cali or Portland or Seattle or nyc are the better places. One thing that I’ll say is though we need higher wages, I think that is kinda something we get more at times than other countries to a extent.

Just more than a year living here in Canada realizations:\n\n1. So cold. Not everytime you can be so productive because the weather is a big hindrance\n2. As an immigrant, you will start from scratch. There will be great opportunities, sometimes really fast promotions or salary increase but workplaces are always short staffed that the amount of work is not worth it with how much the salary is. \n3. Some people still have preferences and you will really feel discriminated.\n4. People are polite, I am very impressed but so individualistic, it's sad. Growing in a country with a very collective type of community, you will really fee the void once you try living in Canada. you can't fully relate to everyone, be free to talk to them about everything because you rarely have common ground or understanding. I feel bad for the Canadians, its so hard to build relationships here in this country. Some of them might never experienced living that everyone of their schoolmates understand and laughs at the same meme because all of them have the same backgrounds and can relate.\n5. Housing prices are so high, it is so surprising for a country with big land mass but with very few population. Like how can be the house this expensive when winter is long, houses are wood and not stone and groceries, mall and other recreational areas are far?\n\nOverall, it's like a big scam going here in Canada. The biggest thing positive here is how powerful the currency is and the country being part of G7 and neighbor of US. Also it has very well preserved environment, scenic views. Aside those, others you can live without.

I do watch many videos about the topic. First of all there's no place like home. As a human we will have tendency to resist to change. Choosing to leave a country whatever the reason will always be hard, you left a culture, family and so many good things. Diversity in a country like Canada is a good thing sometimes because somewhere somehow you find link to home. Imagine as a French Canadian like I am, I am consider as an immigrant in my own country. The natives came first from Asia, English took over the country which left us with no country we can call home. Many immigrants will say that French is an obstacle and don't understand why we need laws to keep it, we took our place following negotiations with the native not by conquest and always need to fight to keep that space because we're not making babies anymore and do need immigration like the rest of the country. That being said it brings the sensitive topic of jobs. There's types of jobs you do need Canadian experience, in Canada the construction codes are different from even a region versus another one. Do you know that St-Lawrence river is sitting on a tectonic plate and you need to construct a building which can resist a earthquake? What Canada need to do because we do lack of people on those job, is to provide fast track to help them having Canadian experience. They don't need anatomy courses, human here are pretty much the same but they need to know what medication is legal in Canada. Finally, all is on setting expectations, don't expect to feel at home in here, it take in average 3 generations to really feel at home, so be ready to feel pushed aside, be ready to live in a area where you will find mostly people of common cultural background. You will feel left over and pretty much alone. The only solution to be happy in here is embrasse change, go out of your comfort zone, embrace the local culture, talk to people from different backgrounds. There's a difference between multi cultural and integration. Sharing is caring, share your culture and your food, and most of all don't think you have the best way of life and other people don't understand. When you think everyone is wrong is usually a sign that you're the one who is wrong. Racism weirdly don't have a culture, a race or a religion, it's individual.

I don't think higher tax rate is a good point when you compare it to a country like Nigeria. The maximum tax rate you can pay in Nigeria is 24% and it begins from anything from 5.6 million naira per annum. After paying that tax you pay for the school fees of your children, and you pay that 3 times every year, Asides school fees you buy generator and fuel it everyday to get something close to constant power supply. (I don't want to include healthcare because if you have a good HMO they will sort out that perfectly well)\nSome of us still pay security due if you live in an estate. \n\nThe point I am trying to make is that if your tax rate is high let's say to up to 50% and you are sure of the quality of education your children is getting in public schools so you don't have to pay for school fees, You don't have to buy generator and fuel it because there's constant electricity supply and there's good security so you don't have to pay for private security. You might realized that tax rate in Canada is effectively cheaper than here in Nigeria. Because you will still pay for school fees, generator and maintenance and private security and all these have a way of eating deep into your income.

They did the same thing to my husband. He married a Canadian woman and had Canadian children... But that wasn't enough... Then he was robbed and assaulted in a bad part of town which gave him extra time only because the supreme court wanted to prosecute the assailants who had attacked my husband... If it werent for the attack he would have been deported at least a year earlier... My husband had legitimate reasons to not want to return to his home country (also Honduras) and aside from that he has children and a wife....\n\nThey say there are laws and this and that... That a refugee cannot enter illegally into Canada and become a successful Canadian....that they have to enter legally.... But how can they enter legally when they cannot get a visa in their own country.... Now we are pushing for humanitarian and compassionate grounds...
