I have lived in Canada for almost 50 years.. The United States of America has been our closest neighbour and friend ever since I came here.. \nLong before I came here Canada and the US were partners… \nWe relied on each other, we supported each other and we profited from each other..\nLet me make it perfectly clear I consider myself Canadian and I love the Americans like they were my own brothers and sisters.. \nAlso let it be known that our government does not speak for the citizens of this country… \nWe are being forced by the government to follow the rules. And now our government wants the American people to believe that all Canadians are against them. \nThat couldn’t be any further from the truth. \nI can’t say every single Canadian has respect for the Americans, but I myself respect America and honour Canada.. \nAs a true Canadian, we stand on guard for both countries.. God bless America…

I’m an Indigenous American here, I say if Canada was really our friend then they would understand that they have been taking advantage of our countries kindness for too long and it’s time they step up.. If us trying to do something good for our own country for one time instead of everybody else and it’s a problem like this then maybe we weren’t friends anyway.. My wife came to America from Russia over 20 years ago.. It took her 3 1/2 years to get approval to come to America legally… she’s now an American citizen.. it’s people like her that are livid over this mess. I waited 7 years to bring my wife over here. We have a son and he is an Americsn citizen. My wife sees the degradation of our cities with so many immigrants coming over here and we try to avoid JFK and LAX like the plague. They will end up draining the limited resources that should be for the future child of Americans. My wife doesn't understand why America doesn't take care of it's own.. I agree with her 100 percent.

Ohhh if it was her own child I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying that’s ok.., there are many like her out there. They get those papers and they think they work for the White House. If she would’ve visited Mexico and had a kid while visiting and didn’t have the money for a green card it would have been a completely different situation. For those just because you got your papers do you not think that there are people that came here as infants or kids to immigrant parents that came to work to provide for their kids it’s not that easy to get your green card it cost thousands of dollars. Many immigrants that I know and worked with including myself, I came here as a refugee. Immigrants are the hardest working people I know. Unfortunately a lot of the ones that came here as kids grew up in some neighborhoods that are not so great and mainly are kids that were born here that are in gangs or doing drugs or violent so don’t blame immigrants saying they bring all this with them it was already here … drugs gangs violence was already here. Gangs started in the White House with their red and blues. Then they say they are taking all the jobs.. the jobs have always been here but people that are citizens are too lazy to go get jobs or keep jobs ( not all citizens) but the ones that are complaining immigrants usually come from villages without any media or drugs or gangs ect. They simply come here for better opportunities or for jobs. They come to work not to freakin take your jobs… this country everyone is a damn immigrant this country was taken from the natives taken with violence by killing them , rapi!’ Them. Hey there, you fine American... Just to let you understand, our system is FAR from perfect, but it's still easy access and quick service IF you don't need a rare specialist or a not so rare one). The thing is, it's ALL priority based, so if you wait, it's because someone needs your resources even MORE than you do. Sometimes, it ends up in a tragedy, but MOST times, it allows for the neediest to get it first. \nAs far as having children here, we have a NEGATIVE birthrate, so our government PAYS us to have children. My son grew up in Quebec, and they have a double everything. Double taxes (not that bad after the tax deductions and credits), but they also Double the safety net and services, compared to the rest of Canada. Not only was childbirth free, so were the pre-natal courses and everything else, AND we got around 1000$/mo in childcare benefits, until he turned 18, with full of tax credits per kid. Plus, daycare was 5$/day back then, it's 7$/day almost 20 years later.. Pretty citizen friendly. \nThings MIGHT be changing though. Our conservatives are taking their talking points from the US GOP since COVID, and they are all-in to please their Oil lobby overlords and donators out in our prairies region. There have been 23 school shootings (K to 12) resulting in injury or death this year alone in the U.S.. There have been 167 school shootings resulting in injury or death since 2018. I think the reluctance of most Canadians to move to the U.S. in the face of such statistics is well founded. This feeling is reinforced by the knowledge that the US government and a large portion of American citizens prefer to do nothing about it. The price of being an American? No thanks. Too high for us.

As a Canadian citizen (born and raised) those migrants from New York should move overseas (AKA our nextdoor overseas neighbour UK/EU). The only province that pays little-to-none taxes is the province of Alberta Canada.\n\nAll-in-all I advise migrants that live in US: DO NOT live in Canada because Canada is a sh*t country.
