I feel like a foreigner in Toronto for sure, especially my area. The Indian population skyrocketed when Trudeau decided to solve one problem by creating another (I'm being polite here). Good riddance to him, but the problems remains, bringing with it cockroaches and bedbugs (the latter of which was not a problem until their arrival.. just sayin'...). Fortunately for me I can afford to live in a more affluent area, but I see what is happening. Every.. and I mean EVERY service here... is now run by Indians. I'm not a racist.. but I AM a classist (and saying what we are all thinking), and the class that came over in droves the last 10 years are turning this place into the slum they came from.

This is a multifaceted problem for us. Firstly we keep emigrating people in, to deal with a declining population, instead of addressing the issues directly resulting in declining population, like the housing problem, cost of living, under paying jobs, and astronomical Post secondary prices to get basic diplomas I know for a fact that 90's babies will be the last generation to have more then one child. Another issue is the recruitment centers in India, funded by Canadian corporations looking for cheap labor, promising the world to struggling Indians only to back out of every promise they made, and put the burden on the government and Canadians. This plus a lack of population control in India, is set that to have Indians to be over 25% of the global population in the next 50 years.

As an Indian living in India, I’d say it was your country’s government’s problem and mistake, similar to what the UK is doing now. Aside from government or policies, Indians immigrating to Canada is something that dates back to the British era, when Britain sent a group of Indians, specifically Sikhs, for security or labor work in Canada. This started the trend of Sikhs (turban-wearing ones) moving there. In modern times, the West was richer in terms of education and infra compared to Asia, which attracted many normal students and families immigrants also. Canada and America were built by immigrants, but now things are saturated, which I understand, and that’s where the resentment comes from. The majority Sikh state ( punjab) in India is still behind in development and job wise cooperation, and the historical pattern from the British era of moving to Canada for a better life has become a norm for many young people there. The close, collaborative nature of Sikhs—like a cousin in Canada inviting another cousin from India to come over, open a shop, work together, or share housing—is another reason many don’t hesitate to immigrate. These are some of the reasons behind mass immigration from India. Now, with saturation, the resentment toward immigration has grown. India itself faces issues with immigrants who live off our taxes, take rights meant for native children, and abuse policies, laws, or the environment. At least Canada has better-off immigrants—educated and contributing to the economy. While some may depend on taxes, most are hardworking and self-sufficient; otherwise, Canada’s economy would have collapsed by now. In end i can understand the hatred but you guys should stop this yourselves - not hunting them but prevent more.

Immigrants aren't the problem. The problem is when they don't integrate or adopt local customs, when they form ghettos. That's not immigration, it's invasion. If you choose to live in another nation, out of respect and gratitude to the nation that welcomed you, you must integrate, be part of, assimilate—without losing your roots, of course, but adapting. I am from a country of immigrants (Argentina). My ancestors were Spanish (Galician/Catalan), Italian, German-Jewish, and Polish, and they all assimilated, adopting Spanish-language and Argentine customs without losing their roots.

My only problem with immigrants is that when you are in another country, you should conform to that country not try to make it a replica of your former country. Many don't even want to learn the language. Anyway from the video, the number of unemployed Canadians are not because of the Indians, they just don't want to work hard to earn a living, they want handouts. Most look like homeless druggies, don't blame others for what you did to yourself. If you are unhappy where you are, Canada is a big place go somewhere else and start over.

I am a born and raised Canadian. I have 3 boys that are 30, 25, 21, my 30 yr old recently went blind and is dealing with that in another province. My other 2 live at home with me, because none of us can afford to live on our own as we rent, and they can't find work anywhere. The government needs to fix the problems they have before bringing in new people. If your own people can't survive, why the hell are you bringing in more people. Up goes the crime rate, up goes homelessness. The worst part is most homeless people are born and bred Canadians, while the immigrants get jobs and housing pretty much handed to them. I don't think the prime minister should have been able to make the decision to bring more and more immigrants here with out asking the people.

Canada is finito… if I truly could afford to, I would emigrate to another country for a better lifestyle for my kids. I can’t tell what it’s gonna be like in another 15-20 years. I can’t even afford to get my car fixed, which I use for business to make a living 🤦‍♂️ My problem isn’t with immigration - it’s more with crime, taxes, cost of living and the lack of making it easier for People to live and spend QUALITY time with our families. Greed is killing this country 🪦

You know, I am an immigrant myself but I have always have had a beef how other immigrants act all entitled. Immigrating is like going to live in another people's house, you have to respect the rules of that house. I hate people trying to change the rules to their convenience. I know a lot of immigrants just living off the system, I work 2 jobs and the day I was laid off I refused to collect EI out of self respect, why because I knew I could find another job. But many is like they are looking forward to get laid off or fired to collect government benefits. I couldn't believe that the police and military actually modified their customs to allow Indians to wear turbant. I applaud the people that requested in Ontario to do not wear any religious stuff, because people is only Canadian when is convenient, when not they are Muslims, Indians, etc. that's total BS you are Canadian? act like one, be one all the time; if not go back wherever you came from don't bring more problems to a place that already has more than enough

Some immigrants pretend to be more loyal than the King, which is dangerous to the country. However, the immigrants who are honest and celebrate their culture without causing problems for the locals are better for the country. How many Westerners living in Africa integrated with local Africans even after living there for centuries? It is human mentality to practice your culture when you become a minority in another country.

You know what too...If Canadians was too go to India I wouldn't be able to bring my Canadian/Caribbean Culture there..I look at it like this his your moving to another Country I'm gonna adapt to The Culture and Lifestyle..Im not gonna bring my Old Ways that I wanted to leave to a New Country and Life...I feel like its not Canadians being Racist it's that they came here and The Government and Businesses are Catering to them From Adding Specific Food Items to cater to them most Jobs are by passing others to hire them...And on top of that Canadians are dealing with Food Cost being High still and Working a Job and still not making else to live a decent Life...Seems like most people are Working to Survive and Pay Bill and don't even have enough to atlest go out and have a peace of mind and have a Social Life...There brought in all these Immigrants to The Country while The Country was basically under a Recession...And this Problem is not getting Fixed now and it seems like it's getting worst..To the point I feel like a Civil War could even break out I this don't get Fixed somehow and someway... In a sense I know why (optics), but in another sense, I don’t. Why do so many insist on retaliating against Trump’s tariffs with more or higher tariffs of their own? I think it’d be so much more effective if someone said, “You know, we’ve thought about this, and we have come to realize that tariffs are really bad. So starting tomorrow, we will respond by getting rid of all our tariffs. This will make everything we import more affordable. It will make us richer. We hope other countries will join us! If America insists on making everything they import more expensive, lowering their standard of living, that’s their prerogative and problem!”

As an American and a Trump supporter, I agree with these tariffs, but only equal to the tariffs other countries charge the United States on our imports. I do not agree with imposing this on our brothers and sisters to the north. I’m speaking of the good people of Canada. I have traveled to Canada and crossing the border was just like crossing into another state. Yes, there was a border gate which there should be, but I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. I hope our government can work this out very quickly and stop this foolishness. But to countries like China and Europe the United States should charge a reciprocal tariff as to what you charge us on our import. It’s only fair. Why are we paying an exuberant tariff for our goods entering your country and you expect to pay nothing with your goods entering ours. Most Americans, love Canada and love our Canadian brothers and sisters, we’ve always supported each other in world, wars, and other attacks against our respective countries. I pray this is resolved quickly, and then we can once again live United and in harmony.

What’s been fueling the homeless crisis is the people at the top. They have brainwashed humanity through religion and their demonic monetary systems through which they enslave and control the world, all the governments and so called world leaders. They have successfully fooled humanity through personal wealth, the lack of it, hopes of it and keeping of it or loss of it. They are the cause of all the wars, gang activity, bad medicine, addiction, mental illness, stress related diseases, poisonous food, poisonous shelter, poisonous water, all scarcity, homelessness and all the poverty world wide including the spiritual, physical and intellectual poverty we all experience in one way or another. We allow it. They blame all problems on everything but the evil systems, religions and insane ideologies they put in place that blind humanity from seeing what has been stolen from them since ancient times of old. They have taught human beings demonic ways of thinking and living that is so deeply entrenched in the mind that money and arrogance has replaced love. They did find an unbelievable way to justify it and we have been blindly ignorant to not see it in all the highly manipulated religious text that gave god the attributes of their own demonic character. Fear, greed and lack are the great contribution these dark shadows make to the majority of those who live on earth. All lives born on earth have need of its resources and as long as even one man is given special privileges to resources and power in the way of personal wealth, we will not have peace or prosperity in this world. The world leaders following orders from these demonic entities have done a pitiful job for human beings …but they must be pleasing something very few are privy to.

The Estrogen medication, etc. is an added costs. \nDiabetics are struck off the military for this very reason - only SMALL exceptions are made if the condition is minuscule.\n\nAlso the combat situations are very demanding. What happens if there is a war? FOOD and LIFE SAVING MEDICINE has a hard time getting to our troops … and now you want to PRIORITIZE shipping ESTROGEN to the front lines when you have a hard enough time getting food and life saving medication to the front lines? \n\nWell then … that now opens the door for diabetics and ANYONE ELSE with an illness that requires medication to DEMAND to be let into the military. \n\nAnd generally Trans people make up only 0.05% of the US population so I call \nBull that thousands of key positions will go I filled for decades. (What is this commander smoking)?\n\nAnd if you have an Identity trauma that forced you to change your sex … what are you going to do behind enemy lines when your Estrogen can’t get through and you begin to revert back to your biology? \n\nHorrible thing to say, but women have been raised and live with the threat of rape and have learned to become resilient over DECADES of being and living as a woman. What are you going to do if you are a Trans woman and get raped in the military for the first time? (Women have a certain resilience in this area that a man just does not have and it comes from living life as a woman - from birth).\n\nEven in peace time, transport problems do happen in remote areas … what happens when you run out of Estrogen and your next supply is 10 months away due to another outbreak of COVID and food, life saving medicine and COVID supplies are prioritized over your Estrogen? I know what will happen … you will whine, stomp your feet and cry like a baby that a critically ill soldier - in death’s door - is getting life saving medication over your Estrogen.\n\nMeanwhile when tampons and maxipads are late female soldiers just do what women have done for centuries … they just suck it up and keep on going.\n\nDemanding Male Privilege as a Trans Woman is pretty hypocritical.

They are the problem, the wreck there own country. Then they want to come here and live for free. Another words the middle class tax payers have to pay for their free loaders

If your country is bad enough to make you want to flee, why do so? Every country has had to struggle. Even here in the US horrible things have happened to it's citizens. You cannot run from your problems. They must be solved, one way or another. The US had a civil war. It was horrible, though you could argue the outcome was good. If you live in a country, you have a duty to be a part of that country. Whether that means voting, partaking in social norms, etc., you are a part of that. It is not another country's problem if that turns out being bad. If the majority of a country installs or allows in one way or another a horrible governing party or group to run things, it is their fault and theirs alone. Like sticking your hand into a hot pan, there are consequences. This will get bad before it gets good. Hopefully it ends good.

I agree, why don't they rise against their own nations as a free people and take back their countries!!! They obviouslt have desires to elevate their lives in some way, we americans had to fight for our country and it wasn't exactlt easy, these people are weak and pathetic for running away from their problems only to bring our country more problems that we can't deal with ourselves, I say we just hand them all a surplus of guns and a campaign plan to take back their own country lol, as much as I hate seeing any human suffer aside from rapists and murderers and child sex abusers, we in America have too many problems ourselves, and I was always told if you can't fix yourself, or love yourself how can you ever hope to be and good for anyone else, and that rings so true with everything, these people need to stand on their own 2 feet and fight against whatever tyranny they have and become a free people, I know if they did that someday they would probably succeed, and perhaos if they did start fighting for their freedom and trying to take back their country, we Americans might help them succeed in those endeavors some way or another...Who knows, these people need to rush their own governments and plead with them or overtake them, they can bum rush our borders I see no reason why they're not capable of doing the same in their own country, massive numbers beats out a shaggy old military and corrupt government any day everytime, yes many lives lost, but the sounds of trumpets for victort will ring out loudly on the end, and the people can finally have the lives and country they desire, we ain't it right now folks so turn back around and take all this border crossing energy to fight against your own establishments

The problem here isn't Australia or Canada. The problem is in India! The Government of India has failed to lift living standards in India. The services people require are lacking or not there. The education system needs to be completely overhauled and built. Requiring people to go to another nation for education is a clear indication the government has failed. I work with many Indian people and I hear the same thing over and over , there's just to many people in India! The people of India need to push their government to do better and do more for the people. There is no dought this can be achieved but the corruption needs to end. God bless India

I was born and raised in Canada and last august I left to move to the Czech Republic. If you’ve ever been there you’ll know it’s not the cheapest country and I live in the most expensive city. I still am able to afford to live off my not so high salary of an English teacher. I wouldn’t be able to afford living away from my parents in Canada, I’m not saying it’s been easy or cheap, I have 6 roommates and my rent is over 50% of my monthly salary. I had to take out a loan from my parents to afford all the visa fees and hidden costs of moving to another country. However if I had stayed in Canada I would have been earning less because I couldn’t find a job in my field. I am filled with rage about the governments decisions to mess up the country like they have. And yes we have an immigration problem but they are not the problem, it’s the government. My mother was an immigrant to Canada, and yes she’s doing okay right now but things have changed a lot since she immigrated and how Canada is now.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. If only there was a way for the system to allow people who really care about Canada to get a shot at being part of this beautiful country.\n\nThank you for making these videos.

Funny how u & the white people u talk to can’t talk honestly about their self distructive behavior choices. The people u spoke to were all drug addicts & from the looks of them they have been in the drug culture for a good 20 yrs, they made those choices way before those Indians went to Brampton. The only one that had a home was the French lady, also a foreigner, but she looks white enough, u didn’t have a problem with her. Here is the real problem your ignorance is showing first of all Indians were a British colony so they all speak English. Their culture values education so many of them already come to Canada with a high level of education and they are getting degrees in order to work in Canada. They believe in working & don’t expect the government to provide them with housing and all their needs like the white people sitting around in tents. Another difference is that family and kinship is valued so Indians work together to build themselves up. They may have to live in crowded housing but they r working to save to be able to buy their own homes. The problem with White people is they don’t have family unity, they view having children and inconvenience. They don’t realize that those children will become their safety net as they get older. Family helps each other out, those Indians would do anything to keep a family member from living in the streets. This would put their family in shame in their community. Canadians have something to learn from the Indians. By the way their religion disapproves of alcohol & drugs so they don’t have that problem. The working Indians r paying more taxes and supporting those drug addicts, if the Indians were not there Brampton would be a dying city. Greeting from the US.

See the problem is that we pay for these people to live in our counties. It's not a threat you dumb B. It's cleaning the trash. How is it a threat? This brawd needs to be shipped to another country.

Anyone reading this that is planning on crossing the border. I'm gonna be frank with ya. Aside from the fact that you probably shouldn't be trying to circumvent our laws just to avoid a situation you don't like in the USA right now... you also shouldn't be trying to cross our border in what is becoming our winter season. \n\nThere are plenty who try, and many do meet a grim fate due to the elements they are just not prepared for. And even if you think you can do it, or prepare enough to do it, you still shouldn't. There isn't much you can do when you have fallen into one of the many sloughs that hide beneath the snow and ice during winter, waiting to make you a popsicle. And if you get out of that, you still have to somehow get warm again. But let's say you avoid that, what then? Well, we have these really cold biting winds that make the -30 temps feel like -40 or worse. But you came prepared, so let's say you can handle that for a bit. Well, you sweat. You will get damp, then wet, over time. Then your fancy clothing doesn't do much for you anymore. Ya dig?\n\nOh but wait, there's more. So we have this wildlife eh', and it likes to do this thing that wild life does... and it eats you. Coyotes are one such kind of wildlife. Bears are another. Both are prolific in certain areas, all the way down to the border in some cases. \n\nGranted, coyotes usually aren't a huge problem for us up here, but that's cause we know how to deal with them usually. Bears are another issue, that even we have problems with at times. You'll probably run into a black bear if you run into one. Grizzlies tend to be further north and to the west. You're gone too far somehow if you find Polar bears. \n\nThere are other critters to mention, but they're more active in the summer, like rattle snakes. (Yes, we have them)\n\nOkay, so you got past the border, and you actually somehow managed to survive the winter temps in your trek to some sort of civilization. Now you have to somehow find a place to live. This is of course assuming you decided to try to bypass all our border security of course. You could go to an embassy and declare asylum I guess. But right now, you're more likely to be given a ticket back to where you came from initially. So that's not something in the game plan for you. What then?\n\nWelcome to being homeless. Oh, and you're still having to deal with our winter temperatures. \n\nSuffice to say, right now is not a good time to be trying to ignore our laws just to do whatever you want. Consider this a fair warning, as this about all the F's I have to give over it all in regards to your safety. I just am dismayed that some of you mouth breathers are going to get your kids harmed because of it all as well.

Trump may have won the 2024 election, will be sworn in on Jan 20, 2025 to become the 47th U.S. President, but Trump isn’t my president. Allow me to explain. There are certain attributes that define a U.S. president. A U.S. president places the citizens of this country ahead of his own personal interests. Trump doesn’t do that (hasn’t done that). Trump is self serving. On Jan ’21, Trump became an insurrectionist. Many citizens and police officers were injured and one police officers lost his life. According to the Constitution (the Supreme Court disagrees with me), Trump incited citizens to overthrown the certification of the 2020 election. Insurrection is one of the lowest acts any American can do, let alone a U.S. President. Trump states that the “insurrection” falls under immunity for “official acts”. Since when is “insurrection” an “official presidential duty”? Trump is a known Master Liar. This is beyond a moment when a president estimates, guesses and exaggerate numbers, figures and facts. Trump just lies – over 2k+ lies. Trump cannot be trusted in telling Americans the truth. Every time Trump opens his mouth, a lie flies out! Trump doesn’t appear to be able to help himself. One lie after another. Spreading the lie that the 2020 election was “stolen” and not providing legal evidence is an unforgivable act that Americans should #NEVER forget. MAGA, selected GOP, Christian Nationalists don’t appear to be troubled that Trump cannot tell the truth. To me, the truth strengthens the bond of trust – I have NO Trust for Trump! MAGA, Christian Nationalists and some selected GOP – I may use big words that you don’t comprehend such as: Liar, Convicted Felon, sexual misconduct, Insurrection, Fraud, election interference, Unauthorized Possession of classified documents. These are some, not ALL, of the words that defines Trump and his actions. These things do NOT appear to cause any concerns with the 71.2m people who cast their vote in the Nov 5th ’24 presidential election. Trump had unauthorized possession of classified material. (I am not certain what Classified Material Trump possessed, but if these documents would put my friends, my family and I in harm’s way – it’s a problem.) Again, those who voted for Trump, the 71.2m people, #NEVER thought about this. If they had, Trump would #NEVER have received their vote. America has a short attention span. How quickly have we forgotten that Trump’s inaction of Covid-19 could have prevented many from becoming ill and millions losing their lives. (If one of your loved ones have passed due to Covid-19, you will remember Trump’s inability to deal and handle the situation. It is something you will #NEVER forget.) I will not write a book here, but the listed reasons above is why Trump may be the 47th President of the United States, but he isn’t my president. My president would have #NEVER done these things to an American.

In Canada, there is not enough housing and jobs are scarce, especially for anyone at the entry level or basic wage. We've been absolutely swamped. This is not the fault of the immigrants or the students, it's the fault of our extremely stupid and short sighted government. Most of those immigrants I encounter are good people, polite and considerate. But some, well I understand where the complaints about rude and inconsiderate behaviour come from, because it only takes a few bad experiences to get people angry. I've experienced it myself, but most of it (from my experience) seems to be from students who are very loud and impolite on public transit. The housing situation here is INSANE, prices are sky high and very little to choose from. A lot of seniors now can only afford to rent a room (after having worked all their lives and very little to show for it), and prices are up about 50% from only 5 years ago. The government says inflation is a fraction of what it is in real life, and living expenses have exploded. As I understand it, some people made a lot of money offering services to bring students and low wage workers in, with no consideration to the damage they were doing to all of us who were born and raised here - they wanted to make their million dollars. Another problem is that once someone arrives here, what they find is NOT what they were led to believe. What students and immigrants are told they need to live here is an absolute lie, living here in Canada has become very expensive. Many workers are severely under paid, and never even see the legal minimum wage, and the problem with that is, almost no Canadian will be hired on to those jobs - the reasons are that imported foreign workers will work below minimum wage because they are trapped here, and the Canadians already know that they will only struggle if they take jobs that pay so poorly. So yes, a lot of Canadians are VERY angry, and you really can't blame them. I lived in Germany for nearly a year. Probably Canada is making more money thanks to the savings of those who are moving in Canada and bring here all they have. In addition to these money Canada has the continuously financial benefit from the relatives of emigrants who send money or visit and spend money in Canada. Another aspect is related with the family problem. It seems in Canada there are many separated families, divorced. And our government also prioritizes immigrants and asylum seekers before born and raised Canadian citizens. As a Canadian who is tired of the nonsense that's been happening in the world this past decade, I wish our government would put on their big boy pants and do something about this uncontrolled immigration. Hello, I live in BC, Canada. Canada is currently in a very rough state, and I can only hope things will improve soon. One of the biggest issues is the rampant, uncontrolled immigration. The government invited a flood of people into the country without having the necessary infrastructure in place—jobs, healthcare, housing—to support them. Now they're trying to cap immigration, hoping for a turnaround, but it's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.\n\nCanada's drug and crime policies are an absolute joke. Some even sell their land or property, especially in Punjab, thinking they'll find a better life here. But right now, it's just not worth it. I’m a Canadian and my wife is an immigrant for Punjab and even she thinks this is all getting out of control. She came here to start a new life with me after we met and to get away from Indian culture which she thinks is now seeping into everything. In India it’s survival of the fittest, one must do everything they do and take advantage of everything in order to scrap by. They don’t respect any other culture than their own my wife won’t even step foot in Brampton because it looks, sounds, and even starting to smell like India. And the problem is being exasperated because these people who are from very tight families are trying to bring their whole families too people who are elderly with no literacy or language skills to integrate into Canadian society to work and contribute to the economy so they just live off of their children who came first. I’m not racist all of my friends are international and are of one ethnicity or another and I’ve been to India and love the country it’s beautiful with amazing food lol, but this is getting too much out of hand and we’re letting in the most cut throat Indians in who will exploit everything and step on anyone to get on top. They won’t even respect Canadian laws and customs. We’re not equipped to deal with them

Is not just house prices , that's nothing compared to many other problems with Canada. There is no life in Canadian living , health care is a joke, hospitals are another story, Dr's are businessmen, weather is another thing, food quality is lowest in the world, politicians are stealing by law, Canada was ok 25 years ago and before. Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

Toronto was my home town...I am now 73 but have lived in Norwich, England for decades. My relatives have moved out of Toronto to the Muskokas; but they always tell me how expensive the city now is. My cousin was in real estate so he knows whereof he speaks! Another cousin has moved to New Brunswick. I cannot go back any more because I always see more societal decline and it depresses me thoroughly. The Toronto of the Centennial year 1967 I will always remember fondly: a paradise! Problems seemed to be something other cities experienced. And the Leafs won the Stanley Cup!

The only reason we are staying right now is because our son is taking a three year college course and has only just about completed one year. Another related topic that you covered was about the high cost of rents and the ridiculous rental situations - many of them in Brampton. He is saving money living at home right now. Another big problem is that we don't have the infrastructure for all these people. My son routinely stands up most of the way to school or can't get on a bus because it's full.

Dude, I am a student from another country. The government did not provide me home or money. I am working, I found a home myself, I pay rent myself, I am working and i pay tuition fee and I pay rent. The homeless problem has become way worse over the years. Canada has become way too expensive to live with the outrageous prices in rent, heat, hydro, food, property taxes it’s bloody outrageous. Ppl loose their jobs and find they can’t afford to pay their rents and mortgages along with all the other bills if they can’t find another job right away. And companies are to hire minority over white ppl. A white male in Ontario, forget about it. White ppl have become minority now in the work force. Absolutely the cost of living has caused the homeless problem to sky rocket. As far as the system it’s true that the system takes care of foreigners first over Canadians. I remember many years ago I tried to get student assistance to take courses and I was rejected because I lived with a parent, the person on the other end of the phone told me strait out if I was a foreigner I’d of gotten the assistance, and this was way before Trudeau was in the picture!!!
