I’m a proud Indian who is now a Canadian citizen, and I’ve made a conscious effort to assimilate into Canadian culture and values. What bothers me is how this conversation has been reduced to blaming one group. The reality is that the Canadian government failed first by not properly managing immigration volumes, not enforcing document verification, and not honestly assessing whether the country could support such rapid population growth. That policy failure created pressure on housing, jobs, and social systems long before resentment followed. We also need honesty within the Indian community. Some Indians struggle to adapt being overly loud, culturally rigid, and sometimes lacking empathy for Canadian norms and shared public spaces. I studied Canadian and Indigenous history in school, and respecting that history matters. Assimilation doesn’t mean abandoning your culture, but it does mean understanding and respecting the society you chose to join. Cultural education should be expected, not optional. That said, one Indian doing something wrong does not make all Indians bad. Most Indian students and workers I know are hardworking, punctual, and serious about contributing. I’ve personally worked minimum-wage jobs for years, and what I noticed was not jobs being “taken,” but fewer Canadian youth willing to stay in or commit to these roles long-term. Indians didn’t replace Canadians, they filled vacancies that already existed. I also briefly volunteered helping the homeless, and what I saw was honestly shocking. It’s not that the government isn’t trying to help there are rehabilitation programs and support systems in place. The difficult truth is that a significant portion of the homeless population struggles with substance abuse and refuses treatment because it requires giving up drugs. Over time, homelessness itself starts to function like a culture, where benefits and assistance unintentionally enable continued substance use rather than recovery. This is an uncomfortable reality people don’t like to talk about. None of this is simple. Immigration didn’t break Canada, and neither did one community. Poor policy, weak enforcement, lack of accountability, and refusal from governments and individuals to adapt responsibly is what brought us here. Blame is easy. Honest solutions are not.

All people except the Native people are immigrants or offspring of immigrants. Absolutely, embracing diversity and promoting equality are essential steps toward creating a more inclusive and harmonious society. Recognizing that everyone has unique backgrounds and perspectives can enrich our communities and foster understanding. Working together to build a better future for ourselves and generations to come is a shared responsibility that benefits us all. We cannot label people based on our perception. Everyone should earn an honest living and be kind to people around them. That is what makes us Canadian - the kind and polite.

It would be really nice to see them round up in Surrey BC and Brampton Ontario these communities that are infested with drug dealing and extortion of their middle class families back home. But really FOR fast track Healthcare professionals/doctors into this country. Canada as a country also has to start having more children I do not know how they solve the problem but our population is aging and if we don't want to end up like Japan we have to do something about it. I don't care if this is labeled "racist"—the evidence is clear. Indians are not here to build Canada; many are here to overtake it. Canadians have to act before it's too late.

As a brown person who migrated to Ireland, i can tell you i haven't met, spoken to or hung out with any of the people from my birth country in years. Why? Because, my Irish school mates, my Irish neighbours & Irish colleagues have never made me feel insecure about my color or origins. However in the last five years, some communities like the pakistanis, brazilians & nigerians started creating their ghettos despite the fact that the Irish did not discriminate. They "rule" their ghettos as if they're sovereign territories and do not interact with the Irish, who loves a good banter & socializing. Now the Irish are feeling insecure & one can feel, hear & see the change in attitudes towards immigrants. I fear that in the future i may face the consequences of some other people's decision to stand out instead of mixing. It is quite sad actually!

The issue with Canada is that, when Europeans came here, they didn't integrate with native Indians, didn't accept their traditions/lanuages but brought their own European culture/traditions and languages and named it as a Canadian Culture. The reason why Europenas were able to take over the whole Canada and impose English and French language is that European culture was strong, then brown/black/asian people are moved to Canada and they are brought their own culture/languages, but the brown culture really stood up and sustained because their culture was strong like europeans and more of them are still coming. the history is repeating itself because of politicians in power. People on the both sides are not willing to listen the other side, for example, citizens think that international students are creating the a here, doing cash jobs but they don't see that this coutntry that charged them $9k/term tution fees can't even provide them a job forcing them to work illigally and commit crimes, and on the other side Internation students think that citizens hate us because they are brown but big NO citizens are frustrated because they have no jobs and immigrants are not integrating themselves among other communities. Higher unemployment = higher crime = more = higher division among people, ALL THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWING.

I think the Pakistani Guy nailed it! When the economy cannot siphon people into the workforce you form a nexus to survive. It eventually evolves into a closed group that is then seen as a non-integrated community. This is not unique to Canada. Usually first generation immigrants who came in the 70s, 80s and 90s (and 2000s in case of mainland Europe) were treated quite poorly, not given enough opportunities and looked down upon. But they kept their heads down and worked hard with a resolve that their children would be of equal stature. While doing so they created networks and support systems that will help them survive and eventually thrive. This network worked very well for a while untill new generation immigrants came in and became a part of the network but had no idea what went in creating that safe space to begin with. Thus the clashes!

The problem is the inclusive nature of western countries, you go to Muslim countries like Saudi or UAE they is no exception for Hindus or Christian’s all have to abide by the Muslims ways you can’t walk around Riyadh in a mini skirt , you go to India in the majority Hindu states like Haryana no beef is eaten they is no exceptions yet in Canada , Uk and Us they include these religions they allow them to implement thier religious laws in thier communities which good for them but not for the people the found there , which creates tension as laws and beliefs clash Canada, uk , us need to establish that they Christian nations and not be so inclusive only give them thier spaces to worship thier god or gods but they should never impose thier laws on the general public, and they need to make it a necessity for all immigrants to learn about the countries culture, language and laws and make it clear they have to abide by these laws

You are right! Most immigrants who comes to Canada with the intension of changing the culture, religion, and tradition are the one causing all this problems. They monopolize the job market because they create network between their own community. Because of this, the job opportunities are limited for this communities. As for the religious immigrants, they have to stay in their country if they need a muslim nation, because nobody wants it here. This is the weakness of the Government of Canda. The Government must do something to solve this problem and deport this kind of immigrants.

These conditions also leave populations susceptible to outbreaks of disease that US healthcare is ill-equipped to deal with. Unregulated immigration results in gangs taking control of both the illegal immigrants and the communities they settle in. Trafficked immigrants are forced to work for the gangs or their families back in their home countries will be harmed. We're not dealing with a surge in balanced immigration drawing from a balanced global demographic. That's nearly universally agreeable amongst Canadians and it likely will never change because Canadian itself is not an ethnic identity but an identity built around shared values. We are, in real time and in nearly every city across the country, experiencing solely a surge in Punjabi immigration. They tend to congregate into tight communities, stack houses with up to 10-15 people in hardly adequate living conditions, and then disproportionately and even sometimes exclusively hire or provide tenantship to people based on ethnicity. Not admitting that would be wilfully ignoring the obvious. Canada is exceptionally inviting of immigrants, especially when they try to integrate and join the broader Canadian society. This recent surge of immigration has been different. Everyone can feel it. It doesn't feel like people are coming here anymore, as much, to join and enrich the country but instead just to enrich themselves and create completely separate, ethnically segregated groups. I prefer when the boundaries between groups to associate and co-operate are as open and mutually beneficial as possible. My family came here and now we are entirely embedded into Canadian culture and fully identify with the Canadian values.

Lived in same Canadian province my whole life, here’s a solution to immigrants complaining go home to your country. Canada has been ruined by immigration but to be more specific Indians, they are everywhere, in PEI every single service industry job has been taken over by them and so a stigma is created working in fast food, gas stations, ect. No other race works there but Indians, it’s easy to spot an Indian on the road too, if not a massive dumb Punjabi sticker on their door just look at the license plate, you will see their surname every time. So salary laws need to be addressed. Housing issues should be looked into and better integration of immigrants to local communities. These are all policies issues, human created peoblems, that can be resolved. There are already numerous solutions proposed by experts and other parties to solve those issues. Most of those could already of been solved. It's the will to solve those issues that seems to be lacking.

Their hiring system is broken with 99% referral, long and never open job applications, pairing with unrealistic expectations for entry levels, plus they don’t like to train, cannot even get an admin job in a better wage with a BA degree. Many even locals are unemployed with gaps over 7 months, also they cannot switch jobs freely… Once thought I can leverage my skills for the country and together create a better community for everyone, but I’m wrong, everyone is struggling, sinking, and I think I can’t survive here as the rent is really eating me up. Jobs for teenagers, entry level workers, part time jobseekers like for students, people needing extra income cause it’s so expensive in CA, NY, Austin, TX, Chicago or SF living off work entry-level service jobs. Technology has created a shortage or labor gap between unskilled jobs. Jobs that Americans need while pursuing training or technical degrees for the new skilled jobs. \n\nImmigrants do not need to fit the stereotypes of working in the service industry or as farm workers. American citizens can fill these labor positions quite easily. No, immigrants, work visa or not, do not work any harder, smarter, slower or faster than anyone else wanting to work. If someone is motivated to work an unskilled labor job then they will be just as effective as the next person. The HR for these companies definitely virtue signal and satisfy diversity quotas every time they hire someone due to their work status or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can be replaced and so the question is, who do you, as an employer, want to replace the job vacancy with? Gonna hire cause they are a good fit or because your helping some politicians cause?
