Have I got this right? He has been an illegal in US for 10 years then because he felt unsafe with Trumps changes he uprooted his family and tried to stay in Canada. Yet he speaks to his family in Spanish?? Why?? If his kids were born in the US their first language should be English and he should have learned it by now too. No attempt whatsoever to integrate and become American. I can't feel any sympathy for him

So, after 15 YEARS as an ILLEGAL (not undocumented) he never learned a word of English and never tried to become a LEGAL immigrant in the U.S.? Well if I was illegal (not undocumented) in any other country and not speaking their language, I would be tossed out immediately. Our country was built on immigration, you can NOT say that immigrants are not welcome. Legal and illegal is the difference.

I feel bad for them but as a Canadian, do I want them to become Canadian (prob will not pay income tax cause they won’t make a lot of money, being near poverty line)(and will require lots of help from the government)? Or someone from a rich country that goes through investment method to gain PR card (injecting 100-200k into local companies in cash for pr card)(they will most likely buy expensive stuff from our local economy). Everyone I met that went through the process to be a US citizen said that's about what it costs? For everyone that is angry about the US immigration system, we have some of the most accessible immigration programs in the world. Many countries will never let you become a citizen if you aren't born there and yet we make citizens out of immigrants everyday. You just cant sneak in and hope to wait it out, though. Go through the process, learn the language and assimilate properly.

There doesn't seem to be any gratitude among the Muslims, any humble thankfulness to the host countries at all. Canada is a Christian country and the muslim community must denounce Islam and be Canadain or leave. No one wants this country to look like Europe.
