I'm an immigrant and I wish I didn't leave my homeland and immigrated to North America! I'm not saying that in a bad way, but we immigrants suffer a lot when we leave our original countries to live and work abroad! I spent the last 25 years of my life unhappy, alone, lonely and without family! When I talk to my family back home, most of them are living happily while I'm suffering here! You might say, why don't you go back!!! My answer, after living here for 25 years, I don't feel I belong back home and sadly I don't believe I belong here either! \nPeace and love!

I agree with this law. For safety reasons. I have a few muslim women friends including two females family members that are muslim and they dont cover their faces. They also agree with this law. we all have the right to see the face of whom is around us. I also know one woman that is not muslim but dresses and covers her face like one. Why she does that I and my neighbours dont know why. She does not talk to anyone about it and only dresses that way when she goes out of the neighbourhood. What are her intentions to do such thing? She is portuguese does not speak arabic only portuguese and broken inglish. When we ask her why she does that we are told to mind our business. We feel that it is our business because she is very strange and like i said before she only dresses that way when she goes out of the area that she lives in. What is she up too? And like her how many more is out there doing this and why? Whthout any offence to the muslim people SAFETY should come first to everyone.

I'm white living in Europe, but I think that the way other people treat you is also very dependable on your facial expressions, on what the first impression you make etc.I have had numerous experiences in my life when going with friend (shopping, or organizing something) that because he looks more friendly or more attractive so people naturally speak to him first.Especially talking to females.Not sure how to fix it.Once people know me, it's much easier.Funny world.

Such generalizations. After listening for just one minute I conclude that you found out that lumping everybody into the same basket was stupid but it took you 25 years to find that out. Wow! More people are killed or injured traveling in car than in a mountain bike. There are 50 states in the USA so most statements you make may refer to just one or two states. Canada has 10 provinces and the health care is slightly different in each province. Wait until you have lived in any country for a few years before you can talk authoritatively about it. Canada is a good country to live in so is Australia but even better are some or the northern or western countries in Europe where health care is affordable and good and food is affordable and good. The USA has more millionaires and billionaires and a lot of them are in government. Think about that. Lots of guns and judging by the news quite a few racist cops who never get punished. Think about that too. Bad water in many places; also worth thinking about. There are more lobbyists than there are legislators and they all make money; think about that and ask yourself why.

If wearing a nikab or hijab or burka was a sign of respect and honor, we would all be walking around wearing bed sheets over our heads. That fact that only women are required to cover up is exactly why it is discriminating and a sign of male chauvinism by the muslim community and islam. Having grown up in the midwest of the USA, I find it offensive and oppressive to women to see them hiding under or behind a cloth garment. Talk to anyone who specializes in communication and you will quickly understand that there are many non-verbal communications from facial expressions that contribute to the way we humans communicate with each other. To suppress these facial expressions is like seeing without color and in black and white only. This is a fact of life and not open to debate.

This journalist needs to research the religion properly because honor killings are not condoned whatsoever... this concept is just belted out by haters who are on a smear campaign of Islam. And then this journalist gave that farzana lady the last word of her 'critical' views on Islam it just undid everything the Muslims were doing before her giving a clearer picture of Islam, farzana lady will just make people confused I mean those are her personal opinions but how does it help this piece? Also last time I checked following fashion trends is not synonymous to peer pressure as what journalist wants to suggest that girl was peer pressured in to wearing the scarf when she clearly explained she wasn't. And when that guy was talking about teaching women Islamic studies journalist is like but you just teach them Islam not anything else WELL it's a mosque that's what people usually do if they want to learn religion they go to place of worship, if they want to learn something else they go to school or university. why our countries do not boycott Muslims countries? it would be better for both of us. we don't go to their countries, nor they come to our countries. It's funny how a lot of this interview talks about Muslim women covering up but the one Muslim woman who should have been covered up for her protection was not.

i am of indian descent and i grew up in canada. went to elementary middle and high school and 2 universities, and i absolutely hate the fobs and people who dont want to assimilate into our society. its usually indian people. and they always want to talk in hindi or punjabi when i am not even fluent in either. fk them.
