To have, apparently, no English whatsoever after so many years does not indicate a desire to integrate. Housing and social security payments are, of course, part of the package and these individuals produce no net benefit at all either socially or economically and it's getting worse so spare me the bleeding heart rhetoric we keep hearing from mainstream (almost exclusively liberal) media. The BBC which is funded by the British Taxpayer cannot be relied upon to tell the truth or give the facts and continues to actively promote uncontrolled 'migration' so I think it's fair to say that they are fully facilitating the 'Kalergi Plan' and the decimation of the cultures and peoples of Europe!

It angers me what this man has done to his family. How do you claim asylum in a country when fleeing from a country you came to illegally? Immigration laws are very important and protect citizens of a country in many ways. The US welcomes immigrants with open arms when they come here legally. These individuals want to challenge our rights to protect our people, our country. This family may be no threat to our country but if laws are not followed it opens the way for the wrong people to enter. I’m so tired of this manipulation. This man is responsible for the pain his children are going through.. not the countries standing by their laws to protect citizens and legal immigrants. If you know something is wrong and you do it anyway how do you then blame someone else for the consequence? Aside from this.. when do people start taking a stand and making positive change in their own Home Countries? So many of these people support corrupt leaders that promise to give them all their desires and then when things fall apart they want to flee. The problem in this world is people refuse to take responsibility. It’s always someone else’s fault. If we allow people from other countries to neglect our laws our country will fall as well. Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? We can prevent the entire population from migrating, prevent people from being exploited and hurt while traveling or living illegally and the taxpayers and citizens won't have to pay for court costs, education, healthcare and welfare. There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. With the money now saved, it can be diverted to cover the costs of our troops, counselors, educators in those nations. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? I feel, certain pathetic political groups are playing these migrants, the law-abiding citizens and others in their game of chess. Lives are not pawns for chess. Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... I feel like much is not being discussed about this situation....Something else is going on that they are not covering...

I don't know what Sharia Law/ Islam is all about to hate it that much. We have Muslims in our country. At least around 20% of the population. Maybe more than Australia... but there are as many different interpretation of Islam and Sharia Law, as the Bible and Christian denominations. What you probably have is the Radical Extremist type.... The type that doesn't accept differences in culture and the population they are in. They are the minority who wants to have the majority rule... We also have problems with Radical Islam and majority of the Muslim population in my country does not accept them that much. There are certainly discrimination against Muslim, but not as much as most western countries does. My advise is to not to generalize Muslims as one type of people. There are people in that community that does not believe in extremist interpretation of the law. Second, deport or watch radical extremist as they are dangerous to any multicultural society, like the white supremacist and Neo- Nazis in the US. Some of them are citizens. Deporting your own citizen to a different country is far-fetched. Third, accept them as part of a sub- culture, having their own ways within their group, yet under the laws of the nation they are living. The way they dress, polygamy, and women's rights are just some issues that Westerners usually cringe about. But there are other religions who practice these as well. Lastly, stop hating each other because your hate will empower extremism. \nReligion is either you are born with it until you are old/ mature enough to choose or an independent choice.

Before I moved to Brampton, I had no idea HOW MANY Indians actually lived here. I'm of south Asian descent but I grew up here as a Canadian. I still keep my culture but I'm Canadian FIRST. It's true too, some of them don't believe in deodorant, holy shit I literally had to tell a guy who sat beside me on the bus that he smelled. I know it was rude but if someone doesn't tell these people, they will think not wearing deodorant is normal. I miss the Canada I grew up in. My friends were mostly white but there was a nice mix of us: white, black, asian so we all got along. Today, everyone is in their own groups, strangers are the enemy, there is so much more segregation than there has ever been. Not long ago at a Tim Hortons I heard an Indian guy who was clearly new to the country telling his friend he didn't have to learn English because everyone in Brampton speaks Punjabi, it was insulting hearing that.....Listen up Indians and any immigrants coming here: BEFORE you come here, learn English, LEARN the customs and learn the CANADIAN WAY. This is the current state of Canada...at least for another 1 and a half years until the federal election next year. As a Canadian, I have to say that I'm very proud that we are able to take so many immigrants. Our first Prime Minister was an immigrant. Our country was built on immigration. Ask yourself who built this country? Immigrants did. But with every wave of immigration comes prejudice. Irish, Ukrainians, Polish have all seen there share of prejudice. Now its brown people from Syria that escaped with the cloths off their back. There is nothing in the Quran about covering your face/head. That stuff is found in the Hadith. And Muslims pick and choose which Hadith they follow (even when they are found in the same books). For example, they ignore the Hadiths that talk about the FIRST version of Islam, called the Satanic Verses (Muhammad recanted that version of Islam, saying that the first angel he talked to told him the wrong things because it was actually a devil disguised as an angel). If they accept that Hadith, they have to accept that if Muhammad could be tricked by a devil the first time, what is to say that he couldn't be tricked a second time? Also, the Quran was not written down until much later, it was memorized by certain people. After a major battle a lot of those people were killed, so they had all of the remaining people write it down and there were many discrepancies (not just linguistic problems, but actual ideas that were completely different). The person in charge of compiling the versions burned all of the copies after he created one Quran. And since Muhammad was the last prophet and God only talks to prophets according to Islam, there is no way he could have had divine direction to know which to keep and which verses to scrap. There are entire books missing (such as the books that were eaten by a goat). \nNow that we have access to the Hadiths (they weren't translated to English until the 21st century) we are finding out a lot more about the history of Islam, and Muslims don't like it.

I may be wrong on the number but I think we have 54,000 homeless people many of them children and not enough shelters to house them. We live in one of the coldest countries during the winter many died Frozen on sidewalks. And now our dear prime minister is going to house refugees who entered the US illegally and fled to Canada because he told them they were welcomed. Justin Trudeau has become an embarrassment to us.

Our PM needs to do what trump did, kicked all the illegal people, banned students from getting PR, or calling there family here, that needs to happen here. Canadians will have to pay to help house these folks during what will likely be prolonged hotel stays (not just days or a few weeks, but possibly months), it may be better to just help them by paying for a one-way plane ticket back to their original point of origin (or to the nearest safe country to it). Of course it is ideal to help those in need, but we have to think of the many people here who are already in need amongst us. Overall, time to secure our borders ????!

I feel sorry for the guy, but the way it seems for many people who want to come to Canada or America is that they think we are going to let them in no questions asked and we have unlimited resources to help them. I see no difference about anyone, anywhere and anything, anymore about living in this planet. The only way is to see the big picture. Sometimes the golden pot that some people is looking for and strays away from home to find it, is found right there, at home. \nHuman beings are either nomadic or sedentary. That makes a difference. Still, I don't see many Gypsies. \nConsumerism is weakening the human soul. And most of the time is used as an excuse.

Immigration has ALWAYS been hard but many people make life more difficult when they don't understand a country's laws and/or fail to follow those laws. I know a man who came to the USA with $50 and managed to work and send money to his wife and then one day he wrote to his wife to say he couldn't send any more money because he was buying a bakery. Then he sent for her and they raised two sons, worked very hard in his little business, sent his sons to a private university. They followed the law and all are successful now. I also know a man from Colombia who came to the USA legally and a U.S. businessman saw how diligently he worked and helped him start a business. The American dream works. More than 720,000 new citizens were sworn in recently (in 2016, if my memory is correct).

Even if they do try to do it the legal way sometimes they are not granted with any type of visa or green card. The government can deny their application for many reasons. So they end up crossing the border illegally. As well it is cheaper to cross the border than to apply for a visa or some sort of legal document. Many of these “lawbreakers” you suggest to be in jail have tired to do everything the legal way but it didn’t work out. Immigrants risk their lives and their love ones to have a better life, to be able to work to be able to have things that it’s impossible to have in their country. They are innocent people with dreams and hopes I don’t know why ya are so quick to judge. Try to put yourself in their place, and try to be open minded and listen.
