As an African American woman I was interested in moving to Canada because you hear so many great thing but to see that I still will be facing the same things is definitely a wake up. I had immigrated to Canada last year in March. So far I have not experienced any racism whatsoever. God has been kind to me since I moved here. I found a job and a place to live. I watched this video with the genuine intent to learn about systemic racism in Canada. Other than the example of people of colour not having marijuana sentences reduced, I do not feel we are offered any concrete examples. We are only given examples of (terrible) historical injustices, as well as talking heads claiming systemic racism exists without offering any examples we can actually learn about to move forward.

This video did a decent job of presenting some evidence regarding systemic racism in Canada. While we are better than the US in this aspect, we still have large room for improvement. However, I disagreed with the comments at the end regarding prime Minister Trudeau's knee. At the very least, that is a symbolic move showcasing his solidarity and empathy with oppressed individuals and his commitment for a better future. A mistake 20 years ago shouldn't devalue his 20 years of evolution and growth. Hopefully, the knee is accompanied by efforts aimed at police reforms and improved mental health support.

Eliminate duel citizenship and this problem will go away. If you want to immigrate to Canada you must relinquish any previous citizenship. That would eliminate the possibility of these people moving back to China which means they wouldn't move here in the first place unless they were serious about being Canadian citizens and not just doing it for profit and access to Canadian real estate, social programs and future pensions for family.

I'm American but I like Canada better. I'm lucky to live in the northern USA so I get to visit Canada often. I hope to move there one day.

I love Canada, I have a lot of family in Toronto and have been there many times as well as Montreal and Vancouver. Tbh, there’s no place like the US. We have all types of climates and geography. From deserts, tundra, rain forests, etc. We have some of the best mountains, beaches, and cities on Earth. If you like cold weather, stay up north like Chicago or Boston. If you like normal every season weather, we have many places for that. Mediterranean weather in California, and tropical weather in Florida. We have it all. We have the best sports fans in the world and every sport is accepted here. You can even see so many people play Rugby and Cricket in many parks. Many great universities throughout the country. Best attractions in the world for all age groups. High pay and decent cost of living in most part of the country. Supercar culture is the best in the world especially in SoCal (my personal favorite), TV and entertainment, and the list keeps going on and on. I know that the government in this country is pretty messed up, but hopefully that will be resolved in the future. I also respect the safety that Canada has, but have to admit that Toronto is getting pretty dangerous in some areas. Plus the History of America is amazing. I really do love Canada and would live there if I had to move out of the country, but there’s no place like the USA. ??❤️??
