As someone who is more liberal minded, I don't agree with illegal immigration (I'm also pretty fiscally conservative). I'm open to the idea of healthcare for all, I'm open to legalized pot (even though I hate pot), I don't agree with most wars, and I don't give a rats ass who someone marries or who makes your cake. But all those things are for CITIZENS. That CITIZENS should have. Not someone who comes here just because they think everything is free, don't need to learn English and probably not pay taxes. This is supporting something illegal. I wish democrats could stick up for this country, rather than certain demographics. I believe we would never lose again if they could do that. This is the reason healthcare for all cannot be talked about right now. We have people thinking they can come here and do nothing with how things are now. Imagine if healthcare was free.

The most hurtful thing in this video is that they are not accepting India as it is which is their own country after all.....and they complaining about law and order,cleanliness etc...Common If u really would have loved ur own country u people should have came back and strived collectively for making India better....

all is in the brains if you believe you are honored to be covered and hidden from public it is so but only in your brains. Why to press others to believe in what you believe and why to make them uncomfortable. I think we humans fell better when we are around the same people with the same believe. If I decided to immigrate and live in other country I want to respect their culture. Wrapping yourself and hiding your body will not give you any honor here in the west. Just simply different culture.

I had a recent experience traveling with friends to Friday Harbor in Washington State near Victoria Island. It was a touristy spot in the PNW. There are 4 of us that day - 3 asians and 1 white . My white friend needed to use the restroom so the three of us went to a tourist information center. When we walked in the two white ladies just ignored us didn’t say hi or anything and we were not paying attention at first until my white friend walked in . one lady immediately got up and greeted him. And when she found out that the white guy is friend with the other 3 asians She started to talk to all of us but the entire time she only had eye contact with my white friend. It was kinda weird for me. It was not a bad experience but you noticed the skin color do make a difference in how people treated you in the US.

I don't get it. I went to Canada legally, I payed for education, bill, insurance with my money, yet i am not welcomed . Some random people walk across the border illegally, they get free money, education and soon will become permanent resident. Why they making it so hard to become a citizen legally while it is so easy with a fraud marriage.

The parents are completely to blame. Innocent people are being shot and killed in quiet neighbourhoods around Vancouver. I wish I could say nice things about east Indians but it's quite hard to.

I live in Toronto, Canada.\n\nFirstly, their are 500 men,women and children being placed in hotels temporarily. Much better than cages! \n\nSecondly, these individuals have already gone through the immigration process, hearing claims, back ground checks, medical checks. So these individuals in hotels have already been accepted to stay in Canada. They are in hotels due to Housing shortage issue. \n\nThird, way more illegal immigrants have been detained and removed from Canada. \n\nFourth, most of these people are families. Canada is very skeptical of accepting males. Sorry guys! \n\nFifth, these hotels have a contract with the government. These are the same hotels that were used to temporarily shelter Syrian refugees. Usually 3-4 families stay in one hotel. 500 people won't be staying in the same hotel. Plus the hotels charge the government an insane amount. So they make money. \n\nSixth, more than 10% of hotel cleaning jobs go unfilled. Guess what? Most of these asylum seekers end up working in the hotels they're staying in because of program called Employing Newcomers in Canadian Hotels Project. \n\nDon't worry about us America we know what we're doing. Trust me, no children were separated from their families and placed in cages.

Have fun coming to travel to toronto in august and september. There wont be any affordable hotel rooms available as theyll all be occupied with these opportunistic people who just decided to walk in our country illegally and youll be left to paying WAY MORE $$$$ for expensive hotel rooms, if you can even find one. Trudeau doesnt give a s**t about canadian travelers, or americans. He just cares about foreigners. He did the same thing 2 years ago. He threw out regular hotel guests and travelers to make room for 35000 syrian refugees to house them in hotels for 6 months at a whopping cost of M$$$ us the taxpayers. Okay, as a Canadian, I've been watching all sides of the stories. All of your points of view are heard, and particularly the past day's coverage rings true, in some senses. In others, not. \nAlways, people say this, and people say that, and the truth is somewhere in the middle.\nHowever, please explore this topic before digging down and making up your minds based on this interview. \nPlease do a smidgen of more research, hear more than this opinion and do a lot more listening? \nI know you all are going through a very difficult time.\nAs a Canadian, most of us are very comfortable with what our government is doing. \nWe are not afraid of 'others'. \nWe are not afraid of Americans.\nBut this reporting choice, and your choice to jump on, and believe this interview as true.....\nThat does give me pause for concern.

A real measure of just how bad Trudeau is is that, because we are Americans, most people down here in the States are never able to remember who the Canadian Prime Minister is. I feel bad for his innocent children to have to go through this. You want to live in another country, you need to follow the law like every else. You learn the language, get the same I.D. We all have to have , and be treated the same as if any American were to illegally cross boarders! What we have to go through just to have identification here should be no different for anyone else! The most foolish thing people do is to compare INR to Canadian Dollar when they talk about their wages and expenses. People who live in India are not earning in dollars so it makes no sense to talk about how the min wage for a week here is equivalent to a person's monthly income in India. The cost of living is very proportional. At minimum wage here you can only access necessities and not luxuries or your wants, just like any other nation. The perks of being here are not economical but rather the law and order, safety, quality of education and health care.

I see no difference about anyone, anywhere and anything, anymore about living in this planet. The only way is to see the big picture. Sometimes the golden pot that some people is looking for and strays away from home to find it, is found right there, at home. \nHuman beings are either nomadic or sedentary. That makes a difference. Immigration has ALWAYS been hard but many people make life more difficult when they don't understand a country's laws and/or fail to follow those laws. I know a man who came to the USA with $50 and managed to work and send money to his wife and then one day he wrote to his wife to say he couldn't send any more money because he was buying a bakery. Then he sent for her and they raised two sons, worked very hard in his little business, sent his sons to a private university. They followed the law and all are successful now. I also know a man from Colombia who came to the USA legally and a U.S. businessman saw how diligently he worked and helped him start a business. The American dream works. More than 720,000 new citizens were sworn in recently (in 2016, if my memory is correct).

Seriously, there has to be a way for individuals (not a government) to help these people in their country. I'm not talking about a mere hand out. Surely organizations already exist that know how to improve their situation. Perhaps the next # movement should be help them make their country great.

It sounds nice to say “Everyone has a human right to go where they want.” It isn’t so simple. If people come illegally, they affect everyone in the new country and all the people coming legally. If you detain them together with their family, you are incarcerating children, if you take the parents only you break up families. If you send them back with no detention and no appeals, you miss cases with legitimate grounds to have an exception. Bottom line, someone is on the losing end no matter which policies you use—it’s a fiction to say there is a win-win-win. So let’s make hard choices.

Yea keep crossing, we should make it easy for these poor refugees to keep making this treacherous journey to Canada. Maybe busses at the mexican boarder to get them to Canada. Or they could stay in their own country and fight to make it great. Many Americans have fought for this country over the years not to have people coming in the backdoor illegally. Get inline.

I don't understand what's the point you're trying to make with this video. It seems like you're trying to blame Canada and Trudeau for the situation that he is in; You (VICE) place emphasis on his situation and his family, trying to drum up sympathy for him, but the way I see it is, he's to blame for it. He came here of his own volition and with a family by trying to get around the system. That's doesn't make him sympathetic, it makes him stupid and naive and impulsive. Frankly, it insulting and infuriating because there are people who wait YEARS and pay thousands of dollars who are actually in need of coming to Canada. And now, because of people like him is the reason why the system is backed up to point of instead of waiting for 60 days, you have to wait as much as 20 months before you hear back (which unfortunately, encourages more border-hopping and situations exactly like this)

This is really simple. Don't offer people free stuff. And don't make special exceptions for people. There are tons of people that come to canada (many just visiting or working) and just stay here rather than go through the proper steps (and get denied) because they know some bleeding heart liberals looking down on them will offer a bunch of them amnesty if they wait long enough and pay off the right people. You don't have to live in toronto very long to meet people who have taken advantage of the system in this way.

I live in Houston Texas. People often say that Mexicans take jobs that no one else will do. That may have been true at some point but now that we are overwhelmed by the illegal immigrants every business only hires Mexicans that speak perfect Spanish and not so perfect English. So blacks, whites and other cultures are stuck! If I wanted to live in Mexico I would move there and learn their language why do they refuse to learn ours? I love every Mexican that I have met. I also love water but I do not want to be dropped into the middle of the ocean. There are at least 350 languages spoken in America why are we bending over backwards 2 make our country bilingual to Spanish and not all the other languages?
