I'm a US expat living in China. In china, you cannot get a green card. I leave every 60 days because I can only stay for up to 60 days, just to turn around and come right back that same day. Once i'm back in China, I need to register my address with the police, and update my resident card. To get a 60 day business visa here, I had to get a Chinese company send me an invite, then need it to get approved. The process was expensive. But I follow Chinese law, and respect it with everything that I am. This is China and this is there laws. So who is VICE to make a victim out of this person? Just a crock of shit. This guy can go to many many countries around the world. India, Indonesia, even China but from the looks of it, this guy could not handle China. Why does he absolutely need to settle in Canada or the USA and cry when they don't want him? Go mother fucker, go anyplace in the world you want, just go.

Even if he did have a legitimate reason for staying, Canada would’ve never accepted him. You are only granted asylum status at the first country next to your own. It sounds nice to say “Everyone has a human right to go where they want.” It isn’t so simple. If people come illegally, they affect everyone in the new country and all the people coming legally. If you detain them together with their family, you are incarcerating children, if you take the parents only you break up families. If you send them back with no detention and no appeals, you miss cases with legitimate grounds to have an exception. Bottom line, someone is on the losing end no matter which policies you use—it’s a fiction to say there is a win-win-win. So let’s make hard choices.

My daughter in law came to America, got her visa, green card and international drivers license. She did all that under a year. She does everything expected of her and has not had any problems. She got a real job and has never asked the US Govt to support her in any way. People that do what is expected of them have no issues. It's those that sneak in and bypass and abuse the system that pay the price for their crime. While I feel for the children it's their very own parents that did it to them. Put the Blame where it lies. Americans are only asking them to come into our country legally, pay for your documents needed to stay. If not you need to go just like any other country in the world.
