I moved to Canada about 17 years ago and yes it is an absolute pain to jump through all the hoops they want you to go through. I was only here a few days and I came from Ireland as a brick and stone mason they recruited me from Ireland and wanted me to come out. Within three days on the job I learned I would be getting less wages than the other bricklayers. I packed up my tools and walked off the job I notified the employer and the union by emails and told him I’d be flying back home in a few days. Well the union and the employers came running straight away to get me to stay. Trying to explain that after a couple of months I’d be on the same money as the rest of the guys. This is where I explain to them that taking home C$1100 was already a pay cut a massive pay cut as are used to take home 2500 to 2200 Euros living in Ireland. I moved to Canada for a change of lifestyle but that doesn’t mean I was going to be taken advantage of. And that’s when they said they would pay me the same as everybody else. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself and be willing to follow through. They even reimbursed me for the airline ticket I bought to go back. Some skill sets they really need in this country in addition Canadians population growth is absolutely dependent upon immigration as the family sizes and birth rates are critically to lol to sustained a country. As I’ve said I’ve been living here 17 years now and I am a Canadian citizen I guess that makes me an Irish Canadian now.

I stand with the Indian foreign service officers.

I had a similarly friendly crossing from the USA into Canada a few years ago, went back and forth several times in a week. Best part was standing on line behind the guy seeking asylum from the USA and wanting to be a political refugee in Canada, because he felt the internet wasn't safe.

Shows the entitlement culture of America-Indians who land in the ‘Mecca of democracy’ fail to follow basic culture that our brothers and sisters in India follow. Just because she has filled out forms and paid money, she thinks she owns the embassy official. So rude. \nWe in India stand in lines and follow more civility with officials than these rogue NRIs!

2:09 what is menacing about a Muslim man standing? Also, what does the isis video have to do with this story?
|

That is right buddies.\n\nStill think we are less strong than the government?!\n\nWe will globally stand together with our Muslim friends and defeat the governments. (globally)\n\nAfter this the one world government will be installed. (simply stay together against them)\n\nThis is called a dream own-goal by the new world order.\n\nAnd they will completely fail in everything.\n\n?\n\nThe Revolution\n\n?

Wow this guy can’t be a true Canadian at all Toronto a safe place ? Or even Ontario safe ? That’s hilarious multiple murders everyday even in rural towns and small cities the housing rate is unaffordable by far almost million for a house that cost 200 000 about 5 years ago or so and to rate Quebec the best province when most Canadians can’t even stand them is hilarious what a stupid video

America is more racist but immigrants can and are accepted as Americans and can access the life of anyone in society. On the other hand Canada wants immigrants it can abuse, forming an underclass they can stand on top of. And while initially it’s a big step up, it’s frustrating that you or your children are never given the opportunity to progress.\n\nI can tell you from experience that going from a high social strata of society in your home country to going to an underclass is very jarring. People will claim that the diversity you’re adding is great but white Canadians don’t want to actually be your friend, you’re likely to only hang out with your group of other “New Canadians” (immigrants/refugees). And everyone just acts like it’s normal for you to live an inferior life… that’s your place in society.

Please pull the race card in court if someone were to be arrested for assaulting this racist b**ch to avoid standing trial. Law should not apply in situations like this . Our ancestors were oppressed.

Or maybe they are just asking if you need help because your just standing there. I mean why do you have to assume there is a alt motive. That’s ridiculous. When I get asked if I need help usually it’s because I freaking do. And they help. This is crazy. It was sad though I felt bad for Leland .

SOLUTION\n1) FRANCE hand back Francophone countries back to indigenous people of Africa and back off.\n\n2) The G7 countries block all ways African leaders and elits transfer illicit funds from Africa to Europe, Americas and Asia.80% of wealth in Africa in the hands of 1% of leaders and their proxies.\n\n3) Europe should not stand in the way of real economic development in Africa. End double digit interest rates. \n\n4) Once their are jobs in Africa for Africans. Low inflation. No one will come to Europe\n\n5) Buy back all the ammunition dumped in Africa by US and European arms manufacturers. Africans are tired of wars. I recall during the Kosovo war, guns was cheaper in London than a chocolate bar. The MI5 had to buy the guns b4 they got into Uk and also did lots of police amnesty.

To Rory, if you're worried on how difficult it would be to stand up against a racial discrimination I can suggest you to look and learn from either any other animals or even children works too. They aren't born with the racial prejudice, it's all the from the culture and the government which seem to care but done nothing at all.

It is only in Western countries that you see attacks against Asians. You do not see Asians attacking foreigners in Asian Countries. Western countries have always looked down on Asians. It is time for Asians to stand together against these hate crimes.

Canada is weak, allowing these people to stand all over you like this. You should just deport these people and be done with it.

All Asian Canadians will arm themselves with weapons and fight back. We don't tolerate this s***. True Canadians are not racist. Imprison that racist. We stand with all Asian Canadians and other non-racist Canadians

I come from Asia. I love the country where I was born and where I live now as well. Asian are not trouble makers, we must stand up against racism, cause this is not humanity.

Stand united Asians and all who are not racists. Asians are not weak. We have the numbers, financial backing, and the nations where we come from are very wealthy and strong. Do not fear them. Instead, stick together with your brothers and sisters in the face of attacks. China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, we are all Asian peoples. UNITE. If we stand together, they cannot hurt us.

It’s about time people see how double standards are between nationalities, even just standing there I get judged by something standing around! I’m native from kitimat b.c, 54 years old, still going through everything that’s been air right now. There still a big problem IN CANADA!????Especially when the american people come in to town for work. This pandemic goes way back to when the first? Europions? First land . And still going on????????which will be the first to be cured, covid or prejudice???????

This is why I don’t associate with POC because Asians and south Asians only say us POC need to stand together when they experience racism. A lot of them do this and then forget about it and go back to their anti black ways. For the ones that are against this I salute you! Continue to call out their behaviour and educate them

What does COPR stands for?
|
| 2021-01-14 | 0 |
Corona has nothing to do with anyone's race or origin. We're all humans this is a time for us to stand together and be united always and face the situation head on. \n\nPeople who differentiate others by color or race need to know that we're all human. Though we may have different complexion or look different and talk different, at the end of the day we're all one big family. \n\nThose who deny and live a life differentiating everyone should not be encouraged and should instead be corrected and if that doesn't work then they need punishment or need to reach out to the nearest hospital for help. \n\nThe earth is our home and our fellow human beings are our family even if we aren't related. Please respect and love one another rather than hate.

You NEVER have Asian individuals or groups on TV in distress over racial inequality. Sure, we encounter it from time to time, but how often do we stand on our soap box and complain? We get up, work and work and reach to levels of success and integrate into society to our potential. Not in the need of social or economic assistance due to racial suppression, especially in Canada. I think it's easy to fall under the pretense that we don't succeed or have certain opportunities due to the colour of our skin - it happens - however, sometimes success comes from who we are and what we are capable of doing. Old proverb says, 'quit looking for that hand to lift you up, use your own hand to find the branch that will lift you and get you going.'

changing what the lady was wearing (nothing, hijab, or niqab)...you can’t say that her dress was definitely what made the difference. standing in the same place, donations can vary so much. you would have to do it multiple times and take the average, regarding the amount of money. the comments to the niqab obviously is correct (statistically)

This is wrong thinking we all need to pull our money out of usa banks and go back to our countries cause revolutions to make them better than here so we can all live a better racist and stress free life and give tourist from here the same medicine as they gave us here see how they like it. is time to stand up as Latinos and pick up our balls or else we always gonna be view as dumb asses and outsiders.

The disrespectful comments are unacceptable and personally I would never stand for it. However I myself have witnessed and experienced myself . There are people targeting others claiming they are raising money for certain people and it’s a lie and a scam. Maybe some sort of registered charity or approval from a local mosque would help.

Shoppers Drug Mart employees are the absolute worst in my experience for racial profiling. They opened a new store so had hardly any customers, I was shopping for painkillers where there are numerous drug types, brands, strengths (mg), styles (capsules, gel cap, tablets), amounts and prices - all in small writing which takes quite a bit of time to disseminate and decide upon especially when your eyesight is poor as mine is. After a while I looked up and noticed a security guard standing in the aisle watching me. I was shocked and confronted him, asking if he was watching me, to which he quickly denied and left. Was so disturbed I quickly left the store without buying anything and refused to return to that location. Another time I was shopping for an eyebrow pencil where the colour name was printed again in small letters so was spending time to find the one I wanted amongst all the different browns. After I had chosen and started to walk past their counter, their staff member stood with her arms folded shaking her head. This was very alarming as I had shopped in that store since it had opened! So after effectively being accused of shoplifting a $3 eyebrow pencil for no reason other than being black, at the cash line, a white guy sprints out the door carrying a $50 box of diapers! Whatever they are selling at Shoppers or anywhere else is not worth my freedom. They have no right to profile me when it is never going to be me stealing. There are many, many black people who just do not do those kinds of things. We are not all criminals. I have worked in lots of stores and the majority of people stealing are the majority of people in Canada - the white people. Stop living on stereotypes, Shoppers Drug Mart and don't pooh-pooh people's experiences when they call and complain!

Racism was far more prevalent in Canada decades ago. I remember hearing stories from my aunts and uncles about the types of things that would happen when they first arrived in the country. People would heckle and threaten visible minorities. \n\nBut I can say I have personally never experienced systemic racism in Canada. This country gave my family and I opportunity, safety and a just system. I was born and raised in Canada, and this is my home. There is no other country I would want to live in.\n\nLong live Canada and what it stands for. God bless this land.\n\n\nEdit: I forgot to add that the post secondary program I graduated from had a disproportionately high percentage of students belonging to visible minorities. This is the case with similar programs across Canada. One could argue Caucasian students are grossly underrepresented in this program. Does this not fit the definition of systemic racism stated in this video?

This was very well done. I'm Canadian and this is upsetting to me. There is no need for this. I stand for respect and equality for all people. Time for big changes in our world. Love and respect is the answer. God Bless stay safe.??☺✌

The “shocked” tone in this is what is ridiculous. \n\nTo have implicit bias is human...to act in kindness to all, and to stand for others, despite our biases, is what makes us humane.
